TM HCC is utilizing InRule as a strategic component of our Enterprise Applications. Within the next 2-3 years, we expect to have over 20 business lines leveraging InRule for business rule management. This will allow these business lines to quickly move when shifting market conditions appear. COVID-19 has been a rude awakening for the insurance industry and companies with agility and speed to market are able to not only protect their customers and themselves but take advantage of the market and provide needed services and coverages.
  • Great customer service. Always quick to respond to questions.
  • Excellent training and documentation.
  • Enterprise level security model and integration via OAuth/SAML standard for Access Management.
  • Replace thick-client for authoring with a web-based application.
  • No enterprise licensing model, only "per user" licensing available.
With InRule, we are expecting to be able to move business logic out of the developer domain and back into the business domain. Business logic is currently captured in UI (data validation) and middleware layers. These are areas in any application where leveraging InRule's capabilities allow for changes in business logic to be made with little or no IT involvement.
  • Reduction in support costs as business self-service increases.
  • Speed to market and ability to react to market conditions.
  • Improved customer experience and service.
We also evaluated Sequel Rulebook. InRule stood out against both vendors as easy to use, product/domain focused, and enterprise-ready.
InRule's Support Portal provides a "one stop shop" for submitting support questions, accessing training information, managing licenses, and getting updates on InRule's roadmap.

Our pricing platform is driven on InRule. The platform provides flexibility and a very low barrier of entry for our commercial team to tweak business rule parameters and create new logic to fit the business need and process. In addition, we encourage our end user to leverage the low-to-no-code development environment in InRule to develop logic and connection to external API integration to further improve the capability.
  • It is easy to tweak business rule parameters.
  • Create new logic with low barriers.
  • Authoring software loading time can be slow if ruleset is very complex.
InRule is suitable for when your business rules need to change on a daily basis and you want the flexibility for your commercial team to take the ownership and drive results, without dependency on development teams.
It also suited for when you want to quickly prototype new business logic without going through development cycles. It is also suited when you want to have the simplicity in the system so that even managers can jump in and help if needed.
  • Allow us to maximized our pricing strategy and be accurate in our actual pricing.
  • Improved the flexibility of the system drastically in handling complex rules that static rules cannot handle.
InRule offers a more organized software design, a well-structured framework in design, and is easier for new users to start contributing given documentation. Drools is spreadsheet-based and lacking the capability to do really advanced pseudo-programming.
The InRule support team had always been very quick in responding to our inquiries.
