Inspectlet has been widely used by users for session troubleshooting and behavioral analysis. With features like heatmaps and session funnels, Inspectlet has proven to be effective in identifying poor user experience and friction that lead to higher bounce rates. By providing insights into user interactions and behavior, Inspectlet has helped activate websites that were becoming lifeless and attract more customers by providing an improved user experience.

However, some users have reported experiencing inconsistent behavior and poor service with Inspectlet. Despite these issues, many users still find Inspectlet generally useful for their needs. The option to describe all links by name in event tracking has been particularly helpful for creating detailed website reports.

There have been a few performance issues and rendering problems reported by some users, such as longer loading times of recordings and HTML/CSS objects not rendering properly. However, despite these challenges, Inspectlet has proven great at highlighting issues on client websites, making clients more receptive to necessary changes. Users also appreciate what Inspectlet offers given its price point.

The primary use case for Inspectlet is gaining insight into user interactions with products or websites. This helps users identify confusion points, errors, and areas for improvement. By understanding user behavior, Inspectlet has played a crucial role in improving business strategy and customer understanding. Precise decisions based on detailed information have been made possible through the data provided by Inspectlet.

Inspectlet has been used extensively to enhance the efficiency of websites and identify important elements for users. It has also been instrumental in improving conversion rates and enhancing the overall user experience. Users have utilized Inspectlet to determine pain points, analyze user paths throughout the customer funnel, and identify areas of improvement. This knowledge has led to A/B testing for increased conversion rates.

More specifically, marketers have leveraged Inspectlet to understand user interaction, identify confusion points, and iterate on designs. Sales staff have found value in Inspectlet by reviewing the content leads were viewing, better preparing for calls. Additionally, Inspectlet has helped uncover issues on websites that would have been challenging to find using error tracking alone.

Overall, Inspectlet has proven to be a valuable tool for troubleshooting sessions, improving user experience, and gaining insights into user behavior. Despite some performance issues, it continues to deliver meaningful data that aids in making informed decisions and driving positive changes.

Users commonly recommend Inspectlet for its simplicity and range of features. They suggest trying the free version before purchasing to get a feel for the tool. Users also recommend using Inspectlet for in-depth analysis of user behavior on websites, as it provides session recording and helps understand customer journeys. Additionally, users advise performing quality assurance and confirming the masking of encrypted fields before using Inspectlet for e-commerce sites. Overall, these recommendations highlight the value of Inspectlet in improving website performance and user experience.

Inspectlet is mainly used for session replay. It is only used by my digital department. It allows to review user experience in real time and helps us understand our site from customer's perspective. We have been able to unearth issues tied to our site that we would have never able to uncover just with our error tracking of the site.
  • Cheapest and easiest implementation
  • Don't need too much infrastructure like other session replay tools
  • Allows us to tie each user session to different sections of the site
  • We had created a chrome extension that would make the session ids clickable and would link off to load an actual session replay URL without us going into the tool and searching for it until Google disabled it.
  • Collects javascript errors separately
  • Be more consistent on recording the sessions
  • Create an approved chrome extension that can be used to link session replay ids we gather in our Analytics tool like Adobe to the actual Inspectlet tool
  • Lots of times main dashboard doesn't load. Make the tool more bug free.
Small organization with limited resource can really make use of [Inspectlet]. Its really user friendly and don't need much expertise or training to use and you can have the entire department using it the very next day its implemented.
But if its a large company, you might be better off with other session replay tools.
  • Session Replay
  • Java Script error tracking
  • Being able to collect session id for each visit and be able to review it based on id
  • There is no dollar figure to put as an ROI but the value this tool provides is much much more than the investment.
  • To be able to know the site from users perspective is the best ROI anyone can expect
Decibel requires in house server and lot more dev hours to implement while Inspectlet [doesn't] need any of that. Once you add Inspectlet to your site, you are just logging in to its site and viewing the session replays.

Decibel has its own reporting tool that goes into much more detail and can give you deep insights of the users. Inspectlet, you are mainly just using it for viewing session replays.

Inspectlet was being used across the organization to understand user interaction with our website.

Marketing used it extensively as a tool to understand how users were interacting with our site. By watching multiple sessions and using Inspectlet's funnel feature, we were able to identify key points on the site where people were getting confused. Inspectlet also showed us that there were some website elements that users thought were clickable. This was very valuable data when iterating on designs.
Our sales staff also utilized the tool before interacting with leads on the phone. It allows them to see the content the lead was viewing and get better prepared for their calls.
  • Inspectlet does analysis of sessions really well. We were able to view our funnel and view sessions that completed and dropped-off at various points. Setting up the funnel and doing the analysis was very easy.
  • I thought Inspectlet was very easy to integrate. During the integration, I was able to send metadata that allowed for increased flexibility during analysis. I loved that Inspectlet integrated with Segment.io.
  • I thought the tool's pricing was positioned well for the features it offered.
  • When filtering and segmenting the list of captures, sometimes it can take a while to load the newly segmented list.
  • Occasional glitches occur in the screen recordings. They are not perfect but provide a good high level overview of user interaction.
  • With their clickmap tool, I would frequently see areas being clicked that weren't links and didn't seem like areas people would accidentally click. This was mostly a problem with a low sample rate but with more users, the display got better.
I think Inspectlet is a great tool for people who don't want to spend too much time or money integrating a screen session tool. I like how it does captures without you needing to set it up, which is a problem I have encountered with other tools. I think that it can be a great, passive data source for marketing and sales teams.
  • I thought the price of Inspectlet made it a great choice against the other competitors we evaluated.
  • The fact that we didn't have to pre-plan captures and were able to capture all activity on our site saved a lot of time on session capture configuration.
  • Their funnel analysis feature enabled us to do in-depth drop off analysis. It would have been difficult, otherwise, to identify the right sessions to view.
I tried out several session recording tools. The things that really stood out to me about Inspectlet were the interface and integration. Inspectlet was easiest for me to integrate and start sending custom metadata. I also liked that you could set up Inspectlet to capture every session automatically. Finally, I really enjoyed Inspectlet's funnel reporting feature. It sped up useful analysis tremendously because most of the sessions we were interested in corresponded to funnel interaction.
