What is Intelex?

Intelex’s Environment, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) applications are used to effectively manage all aspects of an organization’s quality program, as well as track safety data, and manage sustainability. It is designed to help manage, track and report quality-related metrics in real-time, comply with regulations and standards such as ISO 9001, and drive improvement. Functionality includes supplier management, audits and inspection management, compliance, and document and training management.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I think Intelex has wonderful tool for supplier quality management which enables organisation to audit and resolve the issue with supplier quality.

Also tool also give reporting facility which enhances the experience for us

Pros

  • Easy-to-use interface
  • Support on multiple platforms
  • Very flexible customization

Cons

  • Implementation process is very difficult unless you are using the product out of the box
  • Licensing model is frustrating but they are willing to be flexible to make things work

Return on Investment

  • I'm not sure if Intelex was the right product for us. Due to parent company requirements, we moved forward with it.

Pros

  • Document control.
  • Findings application.

Cons

  • Document control: When we search for a document, only the title of the lowest folder is visibly associated with the document. It doesn't help when you don't know the parent folders. It will be nice if the search function can be more user-friendly.

  • I don't see any negative impact even though training people to use it properly can be a challenge.

Pros

  • The Document Control application has a lot of rigidity that is a benefit. The audit trails are easy to access. The approval flows are automated and the notifications allow for effective communication of what tasks have been assigned.
  • The My Tasks area is a fantastic tool that allows users to quickly see what they are required to do.
  • Intelex is a cloud-based system that allows work-wide access.
  • The document search ability is very helpful to our users. It is easy and quick to locate document.

Cons

  • When an employee is archived their information can no longer be pulled into a document via metatags. This is a flaw in the system and it would be valuable for this functionality to exist.
  • Better communication between Intelex and System Admins when upgrades are performed. They occasionally adversely affect the system and this lessens user confidence in the system.
  • Initial consultant was fantastic and response times were quick. The support ticket system is not as timely.

Return on Investment

  • The reports are useful and what previously took hours is now accomplished very quickly.
  • Document approval flows are easy to construct and the automation and notifications keep assignees to task.
