  • IOP has made me lose time and money over and over again and they charge me for it. IOP makes me work for them free of charge.
  • IOP doesn't give their costumer service representatives any authority to actually assist customers with their needs.
  • IOP makes it difficult to contact anyone but the sales department.

  • Reduction in time spent to transfer/post payroll entries into GL.
  • Able to spend more time on other areas of financial analysis.
  • If corrections are needed after the fact, correcting them is time consuming and / or not possible.

The Benefits are Worth It

  • Having all of my clients on one platform has been a huge benefit to quickly and easily processing payrolls and tax payments.
  • Intuit Payroll has saved me a ton of time also since, after the setup, processing payroll, taxes, and forms takes only a few clicks. That equates to hours of work time I can spend on something else.
  • The reminders ensure I never miss a deadline. The dashboard shows me a list of all outstanding tax payments and forms that need filed and by when.

  • Positive: Less of a learning curve to train payroll accountants, as they are already familiar with using Intuit. Also, in general there are a larger pool of candidates who know this system than many of the other "niche" lesser known payroll products.
  • Positive: More options to choose from depending on the level of service needed. For example, there is a Full Service offering if needed. This might apply to an organization that doesn't have the resources available or an internal person who has the time/bandwidth to handle the entire company's payroll. Thus, it is possible to cherry pick the level of service needed depending on the type of company/situation.
  • Positive: Good audit trail. This can be extremely important and cost efficient when a business is going through an external audit by an outside CPA firm and the payroll accounting function is undergoing testing (ie. less time required by the external auditor would likely lower their bill for their services).

  • TIME -- good ROI on the time invested. Setup required some documents / signatures, but maintenance is absolutely zero and effort to process payroll is very very low.
  • MONEY -- since we do most of the heavy lifting internally, the costs to use IP are low.
  • COMPLIANCE -- they do all the tax calculations and submissions, so I never have to worry about a late fee or a calculation error.
