iSpionage is a versatile tool that offers a range of use cases to its users. One of its key features is the ability to search using keywords and gather information on who is running ads for those keywords, along with details on their ad copies and landing pages. This functionality allows users to gain insights into their competitors' advertising strategies and identify opportunities for improvement in their own campaigns.

Additionally, iSpionage serves as a valuable resource for brainstorming website and ad copy without starting from scratch. Users have found this feature to be a time and money-saving solution, as it provides them with inspiration and ideas for their marketing efforts. The software has successfully helped businesses generate sales even during slow periods within their industries.

Moreover, iSpionage is particularly beneficial for users who may not have much experience in specific fields. It enables them to come up with keyword and copywriting ideas by providing competitive intelligence and valuable insights into SEO and PPC campaigns. By tracking competitors within search, users can make data-driven decisions, adjust their strategies accordingly, and find opportunities for growth in their accounts. The software has become an essential tool for teams managing SEO and PPC activities as they can plan based on new keyword research and competitive positioning analysis. Overall, iSpionage proves to be a valuable asset for understanding competitors' actions, identifying successful strategies, and making informed adjustments to marketing efforts.

Users have provided several recommendations for iSpionage based on their experiences. First, many users believe that iSpionage offers a valuable investment, as it provides numerous features comparable to more well-known competitors but at a better price. iSpionage is used for competitive intelligence, SEO research, paid search benchmarking, and to also review competitor landing pages and funnels.
  • Keyword research.
  • Competitor analysis.
  • Paid search benchmarking.
  • More depth of keyword research.
  • Benchmarking against competition.
  • Keyword management capabilities.
iSpionage is good for a quick overview of competitors' SEO and paid search strategies. It is not as good as competitors for more in-depth research, competitive analysis, or strategic planning.
  • Landing page gallery.
  • Cost per click comparisons.
  • Organic keyword rankings.
  • Helped support client strategic recommendations.
  • Gave keyword ideas to help improve ROAS.
  • Helped in sales process to close clients.
iSpionage is nowhere near Semrush (and to a lesser extent SpyFu) in terms of usefulness for competitive intelligence, keyword research, or strategic planning. It has nowhere near the depth of data or level of tools available in other tools.

In my company, iSpionage is used primarily by our SEO specialists, who optimize the company's website, and SEM managers who run search engine ads. I personally use alerts and competitor analysis options. This additional feature notifies me when someone posted a resume with the keywords I need, so I am one of the first to contact that candidate.
  • Keyword alerts notifications.
  • Competitors analysis.
  • Website monitoring.
  • limited list of countries.
A good tool to analyze your own website, the websites of your competitors, and potential partners. It is more than just a tool for SEO and SEM experts. Any marketer can use it. For example, as an HR manager, iSpionage helps me to find good websites to post info about our vacancies. No matter how nice the website is - traffic is a king.
  • Competitors analysis.
  • Keyword analysis.
  • Alerts
  • Optimized budgeting for promotion.
  • Quicket results in SEO.
Like any service, iSpionage has some advantages, like more accurate data for those markets it is focused on. Also, iSpionage is easier to use for non-professionals. Also, iSpionage has a better focus on ads your competitors run. Thus the tool is one of those an online marketer should use in its arsenal. Also, I Like the design of the dashboard and graphs.

Our goal with iSpionage is to try to get insights into our competitors' SEO success, looking for edges and angles that can give our clients the kinds of sustainable, long-term organic success that they can be proud of. This is one tool in our arsenal, but one that we've turned to more than once to give us a different view of the bigger picture.
  • Identifying competitor keywords
  • Identifying additional online competitors that may be in parallel industries
  • Seeking additional keywords that we can increase rankings for
  • Keyword database is limited compared to other tools
  • Limited (though streamlined) feature set
  • Less agency-friendly than other tools.
If you're managing a single business' organic work, then this tool can be very useful, but it shouldn't be the only tool you utilize to get insights into your competitors online. It is nice that they include Bing/Yahoo-specific insights, for the industries/companies that see strong results from that alternative search engine.
  • Keyword/Competitor Insights
  • Basic Alerts on Breaking Insights
  • iSpionage has yielded some actionable intel for our organic strategy
It's a good option to mix into your insights strategy. It's not as comprehensive as other tools we've used, but it can occasionally find angles that may be overlooked by other systems and platforms.

We use iSpionage typically for Paid Search—primarily for pitch decks, to get a sense of the space. It's good for getting the lay of the land in terms of competitor spend, which is useful if you walk into a pitch. Clients like to get the idea that you know their business pretty well, and understand the space.
  • Quick view PPC budget—even in a couple seconds you can see about how much competitors are spending
  • Snapshots of specific ads—amazing for comparisons and even ideas to vulture for your own ads
  • The Landing Pages tab is a good place to see which specific pages competitors are driving to
  • The Compare Competitor button sounds pretty sweet, but I've never been able to get it to work—it just says it's temporarily unavailable (I've tried it like 30 times over months). Maybe just a browser bug? Dunno
  • I wish there were more exportable data —the overall little chart would be nice, but I guess screenshotting works okay—more chart types would be nice too, or a filter option of data points to throw into that chart.
  • I wish I could export the "Top Ads" widget—you have to just copy paste it I guess...seems like a missed opportunity for quick use
iSpionage is ideal for when you want to get a feel for the competitor landscape for a potential client. You can just pop in, throw in the URL, and see which competitors populate, then look at the average spend. I wish I could look back at like yearly average spend, easier (default on last 1 month). But it's great to get quick glimpses and build some quick talking points around that.

I don't think it's all that good for organic keyword analysis. I find the organic interface a bit clunky, with lots of information that I don't feel is all that relevant. Stick with paid search insights.
  • It's hard to quantify, but I believe I've saved quite a bit of time and energy in competitor research due to iSpionage
  • iSpionage has helped me get more knowledgeable, quicker, to gain trust with potential clients—again, not really measurable
  • I've surely maximized my clients' advantage by recommending proper competitive spend based on what I'm seeing in iSpionage
SEMRush rules for quick organic insights, but its paid search insights aren't very substantial, it seems to me. iSpionage is the only tool I've seen or heard of that actually pulls in competitor ads and gives an estimated spend. That's pretty amazing—and clients will never stop asking about what kinds of ads and how much competitors are spending.
