Most of the other features are available in Jira, so we can use Jira as development gathering tool. Jira has a wide range of plugins that improve its the functionalities. If there is no constraint on your budget, then I would recommend Jama for requirement gathering since we can keep requirements in separate tool and link those requirements to different tools. Even Tasktop-like tools consider Jama as the golden source of information.,Implemented in-house,No,Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled,Jama 2015.5 was really very smooth and there were no issues faced while implementing. With Jama 8, we have too many challenges due to multiple processes and interconnection of those processes. Jama 8 had many bugs, but fixing them was not a Jama priority. Performance related issues must be resolved with patches and any defects that need immediate attention or require an immediate fix must be provided by the vendor in a set time frame. All we want to make sure we had traceability for all the requirements, design and testing artifacts. We found that Jama fulfills that need.,Requirement Traceability. Baselines and Versioning. User Profile and Access controls. Review Center is a very useful feature. Will suit all sizes of organizations to maintain and Manage their projects. The reporting feature is very useful.,The Text Editor is not convenient. Has a learning curve. Review Center still needs work as numbering for selected items in a review is still an issue. Once a review is published, the new item cannot be introduced into the review. Requires the review to be republished. JIRA connector is no longer inbuilt and requires expensive third-party tools from OPS HUB or Tasktop. Maybe cost prohibitive for Small and Medium Enterprises. Jama Cloud users cannot customize their own reports. Will need to reach out to Jama help with customization. The Search feature within Jama still needs work. Especially within a review. It is still unclear what will happen to all our data if we choose to end our contract with Jama. How can we read our data. It does not export well into Word documents as the formatting and alignments are always out of sync.,8,Ever since we have started using Jama, all our requirements are in one place. The version history helps us track every change in Jama which is very useful. We have not specifically calculated the ROI but earlier requirements were all over the place in multiple word documents which was a nightmare to look for. So the time saved in looking for those documents is actually time spent on other productive activities.,We have used Jama for maintaining the requirements for the Civil Case Management system which is a Major implementation for the Judiciary. The Requirements were successfully reviewed and signed off on the project. And is a major win for Capgemini and the Judiciary. We have used it on other major implementations at the client Judiciary and are satisfied with the product.,It is very useful as everything is in one place. The review center is a work in progress but still a very useful tool. The ability to compare before and after in a version has helped us avoid unnecessary scope creeps in the requirements. Jama allows us to go through change cycle reviews with our client to show them the changes we have made during a cycle for their approval or clarification. This gives us accountability and traceability that could not be achieved in other more manual requirement gathering methods.,Jama provides traceability, not only with defect logging, but also with changes made to the requirements (versioning). Ease of use/user friendly UI. Cloud version of Jama has proven to be very convenient.,The newer versions of Jama seemingly do not show reviews with just the sections that have been changed. This makes navigation difficult as you have to go through each section to see if there have been changes made. Jama connector used to come free for defect tracking (interfaced with JIRA), but now it does not so the process has become manual.,9,I don't have the numbers/cost per user license vs increased revenues but overall, the use of and recommendation to use Jama by our team has proven successful for us with our client projects. It has been used for every project ever since. It has created a work flow/process with our client and helped to standardize the SDLC.,In an environment where we do not practice Agile/Scrum methodology, the use of Jama has aided in the change cycle process with our client, to ensure accountability and accuracy of any requirements or changes to requirements. It has helped set a standardized process and allowed for a smoother transition from issue to change log to resolution.,Jama is the first requirements management tool I have ever used so in comparison to using MS word to draft requirements into a document, it is much more streamlined for collaboration among peers and client staff. There are many different ways to show your coverage, flow of requirements, and where they are in a larger perspective of the project. Review communication through the review engine is particularly well done. Ease of using the system - the ergonomics is excellent. My users have an easy time getting used to working with otherwise complicated structures and organization. The ability to pull information from different angles is excellent. The filters are very useful and other products don't compete here like Visure, Doors, etc...,The initial dashboard is very limited in functionality and views. The bar charts and pie charts are useful but quite cumbersome given you have to specify your filters beforehand. This is very important in my opinion as this is the top level summary that 90% of your management will only look at. Coverage explorer - only 150 items at one time. This should be expand to all... Verification and Validation need improvement on being able to package and coordinate test runs, cycles, and platform variations of these items. This is a bit cumbersome and difficult for beginner users to get used to. It is very annoying and counterproductive that the users have to directly click "logout" to open up licenses. Admins can't boot people out of the system actively to fix if someone has to go home. You have to wait for 2hrs + for their license to expire. Create/Edit licenses not defaulting to collaborator licenses is also very annoying for admins especially during very large concept stage input/reading efforts into Jama.,9,Positive - ROI - This is a hard estimate, but let's say we save at least 70% of email back and forth over 3 timezones using Jama in a project. Negative Impact on ROI - too early to tell really since we are running Jama for a year only.,We expected to achieve and I believe have achieved:- Improved organization and content quality of requirements- Better requirement communication across organizations/departments that have difficult times to communicate.- Connect customer requirements/use cases to the technical derivation or decomposition- Provide a better home for verification and validation test cases with traceability to the sources- In general, a large improvement of a visual and detailed overview of traceability of requirements from regulatory requirements all the way down to risk items.,I have been an admin with Top Team Analyst as well as have played/practiced a bit with Visure and Doors. Jama is considerably better than Visure and Doors on the collaboration, reviews and traceability than Visure and Doors. The business problem it addresses is that it provides far better ability to enter, track, manage and report on software requirements than our previous application. It also solves the age old problem of costly maintenance and customization of tools such as this.,Jama has the keen ability to provide hierarchy for requirements in a collapsible tree style management view allowing for far better reach of information then many of the other system we have used. Jama has the ability to create filters, tags and custom searches in order to better disseminate large scale requirements in order to be able to get from building to testing in less time. Jama possesses the ability to create and link between test assets and have a very intelligible view of managing the bridge between both worlds. It also allows for creation and management of test runs for different iterations of the test cycle; whether it is a dry run, full regression or partial corner case execution. Jama has great ability to create custom output from Excel files to Word which can filter and mine the data from requirements to test assets and present them in different print view for consumption of different audiences and stakeholders in different parts of the teams.,Jama can have better overall SDLC management components especially bridging between different ALM tools. Jama is not an ALM tool but can have some better customization of defect reporting mechanisms as well as test run approach. Jama's ability to break out steps into sub-children in a test plan hierarchy can use a bit of improvement to make it more modular.,9,Jama has brought some new life to our requirements management and how we see the inter-connectivity of functional requirements with System Requirement Specifications which are more UI centric. Jama has brought much better dashboards and reporting for everything it supports from printing test plans, requirements and specifications as well as test runs. Jama has had some challenge in usability as far as training and discovering features we did not know about. There seems to be a different way to do one thing and that is sometimes hard to hone in on how the best approach is. It is more open ended then many other tools like this.
