Another use case is seen in the healthcare industry where JReport is integrated with clinical system platforms like Captivate. With JReport's capabilities, customizable dashboards and analytics can be created, providing valuable insights and saving time and R&D budget. Furthermore, multiple departments across different industries use JReport to create reports for end-users and managers, as well as transmit data between applications. This versatility makes it suitable for various business requirements.

Users highly value JReport's seamless integration with web applications and its interactive data visualization features. We use Logi Report in a few departments to create reports to provide to end-users and managers. We also use Logi Report to create files to pull data from one application in order to transmit to other application(s) to ingest.
  • Easy to use to create reports (intuitive design).
  • Reports can be scheduled.
  • Reusable report components to create other reports.
  • Difficult to easily search/locate reports in Logi Report server/admin console.
Logi Report has the ability to retrieve data from multiple sources. We create reports that we provide to managers and end users. We also use these reports to send to our electronic document management system for retrieval. We also use Logi Report to provide data files to import into other software applications. It is very helpful to understand SQL so it might be a bit more difficult for those who are not adept in SQL.

Captivate, our clinical system platform, was lacking customizable dashboards and analytics. It would have taken many years to develop a similar solution, and then consumed a sizable portion of my R&D budget maintaining it. JReport provides a rich feature set at the right price.
  • I was looking for an embeddable BI solution and JReport is the best of the breed in this area. Head and shoulders over the competition! Their intuitive drag and drop interface allows us to create great looking reports in minutes. JReport architecture is scalable and allows us to serve thousands of users worldwide.
  • Equally impressive was their responsiveness in implementing features required in the life sciences industry.
  • Initially, the product lacked some features but their support team reacted quickly to meet our needs.
  • The JReport desktop designer looks a bit dated, however, the Web GUI looks very modern.
JReport is well suited for non-technical users (typical users in LifeSciences) who need to develop and run their own ad-hoc reports. The web GUI is modern, intuitive and the wizard make it very easy to create reports.

We use embedded JReport in our application and also as a standalone mode. Our customers must have a robust reporting platform for managing, designing ad-hoc reports, scheduling, and publishing report information to end-users. JReport provides us a customized solution and a platform that is very easy to deploy and/or upgrade.
  • Easy deployment.
  • Ad-hoc, analytic solutions.
  • Report distribution.
  • Too many design properties.
  • Consistency with design of the business views.
JReport is well suited for any application that requires embedding of reports and also for it's stand-alone server. I do no see any scenario where it is less suited for use.

We use JReport as our embedded reporting and analytics component of our data warehouse solution. Our clients are able to use the JReport component across their enterprise. Our clients determine who will access and use the reporting component of our solution.
  • Ability to connect to a wide variety of data sources.
  • Ability to seamlessly integrate our solution's security with theirs for a unified presence to the end user.
  • Consistent, easy to use interface.
  • We’d like to see more details in the release notes. Not always clear whether our feature requests made it into a specific release.
  • Would like better visibility into product road-maps.
  • New releases that provide improvements on some report types, may not always be applied to all report types.
JReport is well suited to enterprise-wide deployment such as we deliver in our data warehouse solution JOHO OneSource(TM). It provides for a seamless end-user experience to enterprise-wide corporate data, maintain user-level security regardless of location or device used. Reporting elements are always "business-friendly", reducing confusion for the less sophisticated information consumer. Since JReport is highly scalable, it is hard to imagine a deployment where it would not be well suited. The only case I can think of is possibly one where there are limited or no reporting staff onsite to create report elements.

ePerformax utilizes JReport for all of our realtime report automation and performance statistics. As a performance based organization, each of our 4,500+ front-line teammates receives a scorecard twice a month. These scorecards are generated and emailed out to supervisors utilizing JReport. In the past, all of our reporting was manually done with excel, downloads from the database, and merges. With the growth of the company we were not able to handle the manual work. In order for the organization to go to the next level we had to invest in a reporting software.

  • Report Automation
  • Integration
  • Distribution
  • ADHOC
  • Too many choices for reports
JReport can fit in any organization, big or small. Don't second guess this software. If you want a package for any reporting or analytical reasons, JReport is the software you should choose.

JReport has seamless integration with the web applications. Also, we liked the Interactive data visualization, customizable ad hoc reporting & advanced dashboards. With their proactive support, it is suitable for the needs of small & large enterprises.

  • We have embedded JReports to provide our customers, detailed analytics of the dynamic data being generated from our e-commerce platform. The tool was easily integrated & properly supported.
  • There aren't any quotable issues that we have faced with the tool so far.
JReport can be embedded as a single product with other application where analytics & reporting are required. Some of the sectors which can be suggested here are - Insurance, Security & Banking.

JReport is embedded in our platform and solves the need for business reporting through our software. It is easy to customize and allows for seamless integration. We have been using it to offer OOTB reports and build custom reports. We also use clustering of JReport servers for providing a high availability solution to our customers.
  • Creates powerful reports and charts
  • Highly customizable and can fit multiple needs
  • Distributed Architecture offers higher reliability and avoids single point of failure
  • Designing UI for a new report can be time consuming
  • Building an entirely new report requires a fully trained resource with knowledge of using the Designer tool
  • Upgrades can be complex
JReport is well suited for enterprise use. It makes creating and managing schedules easy. Each machine in the cluster is capable of functioning in isolation. Load sharing and load balancing options available OOTB are diverse for various types of business needs. The best feature is its ability to detect that a schedule did not complete due to a crash or any other reason and ensure completion through parallel nodes.

JReport is not well suited for a small business.
