Paragon Insights (formerly HealthBot) is a cloud-native, network health and diagnostic solution that provides operational intelligence across all service provider, cloud, and enterprise network domains, from network access to servers in the data center.

Paragon Insights supports multiple open-source data collection formats, including Junos telemetry interface (JTI) and standards-based OpenConfig telemetry.

Once collected, built-in advanced algorithms and machine learning (ML) technology correlate these data sources, establish operational benchmarks, determine anomalies, and perform proactive corrective actions—all critical to intent-based networking. By translating real time analytics into actionable insights, Paragon Insights provides a multidimensional view of the entire network and its services.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
The implementation of Paragon is in one of the most crucial departments (information technology) to provide us insights related to the network issues and it provides us with the real-time report related to the root cause as well as helps in network optimization. It has just modified the way of providing network analytics. I and my teammates are glad about its advanced capabilities.
Pros and Cons
  • Visibility: it is one of its key features that supports us by showing multidimensional views and facilitates [use] in the monitoring process.
  • Customization: its flexibility is worth appreciating and its dashboard offers customizations and we can have resource metrics according to our personalization.
  • Integration: integration is easy and great that allows us to integrate it with any 3rd source platform.
  • Data collection is another feature that allows us to collect data in our desired standard method.
  • I think its documentation has some loopholes and needs improvement.
  • Custom support is negligible and is less supportive.
  • Complex for the ones who have no experience of such network diagnostic tool.
Likelihood to Recommend
There are a lot of such tools in the IT market but the advanced way of providing and supporting a company’s network is unmatchable in the case of Paragon. It has the capability to withhold big companies' networks as well. Its integration, closed-loop automation, and network visibility are a few of the nitty-gritty features that make it a perfect solution for our company and I just hope that it won't disappoint anybody that has chosen it and prioritized it over other such tools. Less Appropriate: it is not so favorable for beginners because of the level of difficulty and less documentation.

Alternatives Considered
We decided to go for Paragon after checking all the pros and cons as we didn’t have a good experience of Memfault and maybe it was just because we haven’t made enough research on it and we had to suffer cause of its malfunctioning and difficulty. Moreover, I think that I can never regard Memfault as a complete package which Paragon insight definitely is.

As with most growing networks, the scalability of human oversight becomes increasingly challenging. However, using the Paragon Insights product provided a culmination of this data to dramatically offset the operational cost of manual oversight. In addition, the Paragon product was able to provide data analytics based on the onboard AI/ML capabilities which allowed IT staff and management key performance indicators which could be used to make business decisions. The data collected was normalized against a CIM, and was available for integration into more Automation and Programmable platforms which extended the availability of this data.

Likelihood to Recommend
There are many products in this particular space. I believe Juniper has divided up the product suite which comprises automation, programmability and general DevOps, but this also makes it frustrating, as the functionality may not be inherent to the particular product. I recommend making sure all use-cases are covered by the product or products prior to being implementation, because a partial solution may grow stagnant or losing funding if it does not meet all KPI.

  • The KPI shown in the dashboards has assisted in business devices.
  • The playbooks with user- or event-triggered actions has reduced manhours.
  • The automated workflow has reduced outages due to human error.
Alternatives Considered
Paragon Insights was chosen as it was able to handle more products than the Cisco Nexus Dashboard. The second qualifying decision point was the level of integration Paragon Insights had over the Nexus Dashboard. Both products would service the need of the client, but Paragon was positioned to provide additional value and ease of use to the customer.
