We will make an exhaustive comparition with other components based on those premises (in order of importance):
1. Performace
2. Learning curve (easy to use)
4. Overall foot print when deploy to production environment.
5. Documentation and support.
6. Service packs and security updates.
7. Price.

My evaluation process was based on a balance of features, ease-of-use, and cost. I would keep this as my criteria and most likely, Kendo UI would come out on top again. I would probably add the criteria of long-term support. It appears that Progress is supporting the Kendo UI product and its life span appears to be indefinite at this point which is all you can ask.

Kendo UI gets the UX

With twenty twenty hindsight, we would create a number of small proof of concept apps that test only the widgets and their feature set how we would like use them. This would have "stress tested" the documentation, examples and feature sets of each widget that we were interested in at the time without distraction.

I don't know if I'd change my evaluation and selection process. You search for a while, see what's new, see what others are using and then try some for yourself. In the end, the cost isn't that big of a factor when you use a front end dev tool to speed up your workflow. The cost will be absorbed (or not) pretty quickly if you are productive.

i don’t think that i might change my evaluation because i know the product well and i tried it for years, enjoying the support and the product’s quality

without that knowledge i think i would compare the three major components vendors, paying great attention to the support and updates rythm - maybe i would make the same choice again

I evaluated Kendo several years ago. I have no regrets with the choice. Now there are newer competitors that I would evaluate, so it is not necessarily the process that I would change, but which competitors I would choose to evaluate.

No, we wouldn't change it. We've been entirely satisfied in the 4 years we've been using Kendo UI. The evaluation and selection pocess that we used produced a winner in this case, so why would we change it?
