Kounta is used across our entire business. We operate with three points of sale and it integrates seamlessly with our cloud accounting software, Xero. It allows us to track inventory, stock control and provides detailed analytics and sales data. Additionally, it integrates with our merchant facilities which minimises the potential of user error. Overall, adopting Kounta has contributed to an improvement in end of day sales reconciliation and fewer discrepancies.
  • Intuitive user interface
  • Integrates with merchant facility
  • Integrates with accounting software
  • An easier to modify table plan
  • A dedicated 'print receipt' button
  • Improved sync times
Kounta is particularly well suited to small to medium sized hospitality businesses. It has a great many number of add-ons and integrations that enhance the user experience and its general usefulness from a back end perspective. For example, there is the ability to program automatic menu surcharges for certain circumstances, such as public holidays. It also handles bill-splitting well. It could possibly be less appropriate for venues that need extremely detailed sales data, or for those venues that have very complicated menus or ordering options.
  • Intuitive table plan
  • Integration with Xero
  • Integration with merchant terminals
  • It has dramatically minimised errors regarding order taking and docket printing
  • With the merchant facility integration, it has virtually eliminated user input error with regards to receipt of monies
  • Sales, wastage and inventory data allows for better stock and wastage control
We moved from Vend to Kounta because of Kounta's enhanced functionality for the hospitality domain. Vend was, at the time, more oriented towards the retail industry and so it lacked key features that would have allowed our business to grow and become more efficient. Over time, Kounta has continually improved and adapted to better suit its customers' needs.

It's used as our main software for our restaurant. It's used by multiple staff across the organization. It prevents using manual paper dockets in the kitchen and makes our ordering process more streamlined and efficient. Adding products for sales is quick and easy and the overall use of the product is simple.
  • Streamlines Kitchen Dockets
  • Automatic billing
  • Can add items to suit business needs
  • Quick & Easy to set up
  • Reporting - function is inadequate unless you pay for the reporting module
  • Inventory setup is timely
  • When the program exports to MYOB it doesnt roll over simply, we have to manually adjust
A simple kitchen makes Kounta easy and simple to use. If reporting is imperative for your business operations then you will need to be prepared to pay for the upgraded reporting module.
  • Ease of Use
  • I find the program expensive to use
