We use LastPass for Business in our organization to manage all the passwords that we have for our customer systems. We are addressing the problem of getting away from using a common password for those systems, and can randomly generate them, thereby increasing security. The scope is pretty wide, due to the number of clients we have, and also, it's a way we can provide this same service to our customers who have for years relied on Post-It notes to the monitor, or under the keyboard.
  • Random password generation.
  • Integration into Chrome browser for ease of filling out login.
  • Easy to use interface to browse and manage all passwords.
  • Easily shared out over our organization.
  • At times, I believe the timeout on the software is a bit too soon. I believe once authenticated, you should be signed in for at least 15-30 days.
  • When filling out forms for login, sometimes the LastPass for Business button overlaps the eyeball icon to reveal what you are typing, making it difficult to see.
  • Sometimes when searching for information in the Vault, I have noticed that it will not respond to the search criteria. It will appear as if nothing exists, but if you scroll down to it, it's there. So something with the interface needs improving.
LastPass for Business is suitable for those in business that has access to multiple websites with sensitive information. People such as the accounting department, human resources, and the like should be using a password manager, and to that end, randomly generated passwords to mitigate hacking. It is also well suited for any MSP that has to manage a plethora of passwords for servers, website logins, etc. This may not be appropriate for businesses that are comprising a sole proprietor, or 5 persons. This is more for larger organizations in my experience.
  • Mitigating MSP compromising is the biggest thing. We have not had a breach before LastPass for Business, and certainly not since. Many MSPs get compromised due to recycled passwords and having them stored insecurely.
  • Another positive is that we are a reseller. When we see a client using autofill in a browser, which is insecure, we can offer them this solution, and being users ourselves, helps with the selling points.
  • When onboarding new employees, being able to add them to LastPass for access already conditions them that this is the only way to manage passwords for our customers. This mitigates, if not fully eliminates, the possibility of security breaches.
1Password, from my previous experience, can be used in a business environment. However, it really is geared from an interface point of view for consumers, and not for business users. Also, the interface itself is not as robust as LastPass for Business, and when you are staring at a screen for 8-12 hours a day, having something easy on the eyes is a must.
What kept it from the 10 ratings, is the daily login that I must complete. Even Microsoft allows you after a 2FA login, to stay logged in for at least 14 days. I just find it annoying that LastPass for Business does not offer this. However, overall the software is solid, portable with mobile options, and when used in an MSP environment, there is nothing better to be perfectly frank.

We use LastPass for Business to store and share all passwords related to applications used by the business. It also houses logins to various instances of our software that we need for support/configuration purposes. LastPass for Business is so easy to use and the extension is particularly useful for filling passwords on websites. It saves probably 30 seconds per login. When you log in to 10-50 sites on any given day, this is particularly helpful. It also helps you stay in your flow. Finally, I have recently started using the LastPass password generator and have found it very valuable.
  • Password Management
  • Password Sharing
  • Simplifying the Login Process
  • Time saving on logins (finding, copying, pasting passwords and other credentials
  • Fill functionality with Chrome Extension is easy
  • When you have sites that have the same root URL but different login pages, it would be good if it did a better job of distinguishing what page you were on to offer up the right password.
  • I think the generator would be great if it immediately prompted you to create a record when you generate the password.
  • I wish there was an easy export of personal vault passwords, not shared.
LastPass is simple, easy to use, os, and browser agnostic. Autofill is handy if sometimes clumsy. If you have to manage hundreds or thousands of usernames and passwords across sites (or even just a few), LastPass makes it simple to catalog, access, and share credentials. If you have to regularly generate secure passwords, LastPass makes it easy to do so in a manageable and scalable way. This helps to lessen the temptation to resort to less secure passwords for convenience's sake.
  • Saves minutes a day which adds up to several hours every month.
  • Allows me to stay in my flow and not waste too much time going to get credentials when accessing multiple apps, or the same app with multiple users with different permissions.
  • Allows me to quickly generate and catalog secure passwords.
  • Allows easy sharing of passwords.
I rate it a 10 because it makes sharing and partitioning passwords, credentials, etc. very simple. You can easily catalog and manage your app and server credentials (and other things), keep those from the wrong people in the org, and share them with the right people. Folding seems to be very easy.
I have always been able to get help when needed. But, I don't need it. The system is intuitive and helps articles are sufficient. To me, with this kind of software, I should not have to engage in support. LastPass has been designed and deployed in such a way that I don't. That makes the service great.
  • Password Storage
  • Password Creation
  • Credential Sharing
The tool is stupid simple to use. I love it. Search is amazing, password generating is great, and sharing is easy.
  • Search
  • Auto-filling of website credentials
  • The whole chrome extension is amazing
  • Saving new credentials
  • Sharing of credentials
  • I wish there was an automatic prompt to add a site and credentials when you generate a password
Yes
I think it works very well, even the browser within the app works well. I use it far more often than I thought I would want to.

LastPass is a product that we use daily. We use LastPass to manage and maintain an accurate list of passwords as well as a repository for key business identities. We use it to share passwords with users who need access to accounts but we do not share the actual password. LastPass also helps us to create and maintain secure passwords. The ability to use it on desktop as well as sync the info to mobile devices is a huge benefit.
  • The ability to always have passwords at your fingertips on mobile devices or desktop
  • Securely share login information and passwords with team members without actually sharing the info- share within the application or send links to those who need it
  • Sync mobil devices and desktops with passwords
  • Able to store critical information within the app and have for easy recall when needed such as legal documents, EIN, insurance policies, etc
  • There is a delay when sharing passwords with others - there are times that you need to share quickly but there is a lag time so it does not always work as desired
  • On mobile devices saving passwords is a bit more cumbersome than when on a desktop
  • when searching within the app there are times that the item does not pull up even when it is displayed as displayed - so you have to just look through your vault to find the application
With LastPass, you can finally get rid of the notebooks or spreadsheet where you are trying to keep all of your passwords safely. It is such an easy tool to use and will auto-generate secure passwords that are so much better than what you can come up with on your own. As long as it is not needed immediately, sharing access and information with others is very easy and keeps a list of who you have shared information with.
  • The amount of time we save not having to find or remember passwords is a huge asset. Everything is all in one place
  • the fact that you can sync to a mobile device allows you to have access to any site or password that you have stored in the app
Prior to LastPass, we were using spreadsheets and paper notebooks. We wanted a digital method to keep our passwords and have the ability to sync with mobile devices and share with key team members.
We are a small team so the ability to scare is fairly easy for us.
We have only needed to reach out for formal support once and they were very helpful and quick to help us resolve the issue. They were friendly and helpful, I have no complaints. Overall LastPass is very user-friendly and easy to use so there is rarely a need for support.

  • Creating secure passwords
  • Securing sharing access with team members
  • Maintaining secure list of passwords
  • Keeping legal documents in the vault for secure access
I just renewed our subscription last week. It is an app that we use daily and couldn't function without it.

We are currently deploying LastPass to a group of beta testers, with the hope of potentially making it available enterprise-wide. I'm one of less than 10 who is currently using the product to solve the problem of maintaining multiple user IDs and passwords. I probably have more than 75 active passwords that I was keeping in a local OneNote file. However, you still have to type your credentials into the websites or copy and paste. With LastPass, these are automatically completed through the software.
  • Keeps multiple passwords and user IDs for both computer and mobile applications.
  • Allows user to remember just one master password to access all accounts.
  • Recommends secure, unique passwords so you don't have to try to come up with them and risk repeating / forgetting any.
  • Increases security by allowing users to stop the habit of storing passwords locally, in unsecured media.
  • At times it can overwrite your user name with another piece of data. For instance, if you have multiple sign in points on the same site or if you have an additional level of authentication - like a token key - it may overwrite a part of your credentials.
  • Sometimes if you move the credentials into folders - for instance, Business, Banking, Personal - it may not pull up the credential the next time you access the website. It would seem that it matters where it is stored in LastPass when you save your data.
  • It won't always auto-populate your credentials when accessing them from a website.
  • They have a sharing feature - so you can provide passwords to other individuals. But we've have difficulty getting this to work.
I recommend this to any business professional who has to handle multiple accounts or has accounts that time out very quickly. It's no surprise that you spend a GREAT DEAL of time finding and typing passwords. And worse, even once you get all the information stored somewhere, you may have to create a new password again after 60 days. That old way of doing things needs to go by the wayside. When I see someone with a paper book full of passwords, I spread the news.
  • We are currently using a free version of the software - so no investment needed. But we are testing for enterprise roll out. From a security standpoint, we all really feel this is the way to go. No more generating easy to crack passwords and / or storing them in an unsecured way.
  • Never having to retrieve and type passwords again has saved me hours a week. Not every user will have this same productivity gain but I would think those in Finance and IT will benefit greatly.
  • I will provide feedback to our IT team that we should roll LastPass out to all users in our Corporate Office when asked. Currently, I've been beta testing.
Even though OneNote isn't a password keeper, this was the way I used to do it. It is one level more secure than a piece of paper taped to your desk. LastPass has allowed me to move away from this very insecure method of keeping important information. This is the only secure password software package we've tried out as an organization. Our project manager has tried several other and recommended this one for testing.
There doesn't seem to be any limit to the number of credentials this software can house and this is ONLY the free version. Honestly, I feel everyone can benefit from this freeware version. In the future, we will look to license it for Enterprise use. Maybe we will even require it as the only permissible way to keep passwords.
We have had no difficulty implementing this software to our beta testing team and have found even the free version was very easy to install and use with minimal support. I have not needed to contact LastPass support personally, as we have an on-site IT team who does supports us. However, if support, ease of use or ease of implementation were an issue, we wouldn't be looking to bring this software to our Enterprise.

We are in the beta testing phase of an enterprise version of LastPass. Our beta testing group consists of users who manage multiple passwords over multiple sites who mostly work in IT and in Finance. A few members of our executive team also uses this software for the ease of use and I have been sharing about this software with our administrative professionals team.
1
We have a person who serves as our cyber and data security manager. He has been approaching users for a limited roll out of the enterprise version of this software and helps users implement it on their machines. Implementation took less than 5 minutes and was almost self serve. This same security manager teaches a class on cyber and data security to the organization and recommends LastPass to everyone, even for home use.
  • Greater password security.
  • Ability to keep dozens of passwords with site references in one secure location.
  • Auto-generating secure passwords to stop the practice of easy to guess codes.
  • Efficiency for users who are often logged out of secure sites after a few minutes of idle time.
  • LastPass functions as advertised, however, we are looking in to expanding the use of password sharing for administrative professionals who may need to log in to sites on behalf of the person they are supporting.
  • For finance and IT professionals, we could enable LastPass as part of the suite of software preloaded on their computers. That way, our team members would be able to use this great tool right from the start and begin good data access habits.
LastPass has been a game changer for me. I keep more than 100 passwords for financial sites for my company and many of those sites will automatically log you out if you've been idle for 10 or 15 minutes. Typing and re-typing credentials is not only extremely inefficient, but it also adds the risk that you could type them incorrectly and have your account locked. LastPass fills in all my credentials automatically and helps me to generate secure passwords for new sites. I will always want this software on my machine because it makes my life so much easier.

LastPass has helped solve a massive issue we had with the re-use of passwords and simple iterations of the same password constantly cropping up. It's being currently used by just key personnel (IT, Finance, HR) and recommended to all users for personal use to hopefully mitigate the risk of password reuse for personal and business accounts.
  • Automatically recommending new passwords and allowing you to tweak that recommendation for whatever the server decides it wants to ensure that it's permissible is amazingly simple.
  • The cross-platform app plugins make it seamless to work on a PC, Android or iPhone device.
  • The web application is great to show current vulnerable saved passwords and recommendations to improve your security through a simple wizard.
  • Automated password changes are a great feature too.
  • The generated passwords are total gibberish text (i.e. a mixture of letters, numbers, characters, etc.) which when managed by LastPass are fantastic. There are competitors that allow you to create long and technical passwords that are more readable for a human (strings of text with characters, etc.) that reportedly is better to do than random text.
  • If you lock yourself out of your account, which one director did and had deleted the extension on his PC. It totally locked him out of his password vault and it was lost.
  • There are different versions available, paid and free and its a little hard to fully appreciate what you are missing/gaining because the website doesn't totally make it clear.
I can't imagine a scenario where this isn't appropriate. Its been great at getting users with multiple accounts scattered around lots of websites, to resolve their constant reuse of passwords and improve security. We still need to review if there is a teams option as the next issue to resolve is our shared accounts (where a team of users accesses the same site) and how LastPass manages that. We'd ideally want to share a few items between specific people and allow them to have their other passwords personally stored but I'm not sure this does that.
  • It has improved our security greatly, and with regular alerts from haveibeenpwnd.com for our domain showing users credentials are merrily spread across the internet, it's becoming essential that everyone moves away from traditional password solutions to better management.
  • The mobility of the solution has also assisted in uptake by the key members of the office, so again, much easier to implement.
  • The automated warnings when a hacked account is discovered is fantastic and helps remove a task from us to ensure that key personnel are updating their details regularly on external sites.
Its been a great solution and beats the freebies from Google or Apple with their additional tools (like previously described), such as the hacked account alerts or password recycling alerts in the security review sets it apart from its competitors. The fact it offers a free version to hook you in is a great selling point too. Then, you just improve on that with the paid for versions, once you are already using and loving the tool.
As covered before, I am not sure how it handles shared accounts/team situations so I'm not giving it a higher score at this stage. It seems to do a great job though and I would be surprised if this teams option wasn't available with a higher tier version of the product.

We wanted a solution that would make password management easy.
As it has a free version, its great to start with that first to get started.
  • Implemented in-house

  • Installation is hard to automate
  • Users need a little hand-holding to get started and understand the basics, but then can run with it
  • Its key that the users dont forget their master password
Educating users on password management and the basics of the solution is key to then have them successfully start using it themselves. Many have taken it further and now use it for personal passwords as well.
When we have had issues, their team has been very helpful indeed.
