What is Leadpages?

Leadpages is a landing page software that helps to grow small businesses without tech headaches. Leadpages can be used with or without WordPress, on Leadpages' servers or on the user's own. Leadpages aims to eliminate the high cost of website developers and freelancers when creating a company's most important marketing web pages.

Included in all plans:
  • Unlimited landing pages, pop-ups, and alert bars for lead generation and sales
  • Website builder for a streamlined approach to converting more visitors
  • Connect to major email providers directly or through Zapier
  • Tech support from a talented and empathetic team (based in US and Canada)
  • Weekly conversion coaching for marketing advice
  • Direct integrations with Calendly and OpenTable
  • Take payments online (embed third-party tools, or connect to Stripe directly on our Pro plan)
Leadpages is best suited small businesses who transform the lives of their clients through coaching, workshops, bootcamps, and services. Top categories include business coaches and consultants, fitness/health coaches, speakers, authors, real estate agents, financial service providers, freelancers, restaurants, and marketing agencies. App developers often use Leadpages to market their apps outside of the app store as well.

Leadpages is not well-suited for ecommerce or catalog brands with dozens of products, although many Leadpages customers use the software alongside Shopify and BigCommerce stores for list building.

As a no-code platform, Leadpages is built with the non-designer in mind. The user doesn't need programming skills, HTML, or CSS knowledge (although with these page code can be tweaked to the user's liking).

Leadpages has become a go-to tool for a wide range of users and businesses looking to streamline their lead generation efforts. With its simple and efficient interface, Leadpages has been utilized by individuals and organizations to successfully launch new publications, training programs, webinars, and sales funnels. Real estate businesses have found value in using Leadpages to build the front end of their lead funnels and collect registration information. Marketing departments appreciate Leadpages' ability to create professional and compelling landing pages that convert traffic into leads, while small digital agencies utilize it to build attractive pages and integrate with email marketing software. Users have also taken advantage of Leadpages' low cost, excellent integration with other services, and user-friendly interface to create landing pages for PPC campaigns, generate leads from various sources, and host landing pages for email and digital ad campaigns. The tool's extensive library of templates is often praised, making it easy for users to create customized landing pages that suit their specific needs. Whether it's creating opt-in pages, collecting payments, hosting web forms, or quickly generating stand-alone pages, Leadpages has proven to be a valuable solution for individuals and businesses alike in their lead generation efforts.

Extensive Collection of Templates: Many users have found the extensive collection of templates in Leadpages highly useful, allowing them to create professional landing pages quickly and efficiently. The variety of templates cater to various marketing and engagement needs, providing users with a wide range of options to choose from.

Flexibility of Page Builder: Users appreciate the flexibility of Leadpages' page builder, which they describe as robust and customizable. This allows them to modify landing pages and lead boxes according to their specific requirements, ensuring that they can create tailored experiences for their audience.

Valuable Analytics: Leadpages' analytics feature is praised by users for being comprehensive and clear. They find these analytics valuable in understanding and evaluating the performance of their campaigns effectively. With this insight, users can make data-driven decisions and optimize their marketing strategies accordingly.

Inaccurate Reporting: Several users have expressed their dissatisfaction with the reporting capabilities of Leadpages, stating that they find it limited and simplistic. They feel that the reporting function does not consistently provide the desired information, leading them to seek more in-depth data analysis through alternative solutions like Google Analytics.

Lack of Customization Options: Many users have mentioned that Leadpages lacks customization options, making it challenging for them to design landing pages according to their specific requirements. They have found the drag-and-drop builder to be too simple and restrictive, particularly when it comes to layout customization, centering elements, spacing, and adding sections as needed.

Limited Integration and Support: Some users have raised concerns about Leadpages' integrations with third-party tools and its customer support. They feel that Leadpages should offer more native integrations with popular software instead of relying heavily on third-party platforms like Zapier. Additionally, some users have expressed disappointment with the limited contact support available for standard accounts, which is only through email and can result in delayed response times.

Many users recommend taking advantage of the available templates provided by Leadpages. These templates make it quick and easy to create professional-looking landing pages and websites, saving time and effort. Users suggest starting with landing pages before adding a website if desired, as this allows businesses to focus on converting leads to clients or customers.

Several reviewers recommend attending the weekly conversion coaching and watching the training on websites and landing pages offered by Leadpages. This ongoing training and support help users optimize their lead and sales conversions, providing valuable insights and strategies for success.

Users highly recommend trying out Leadpages with a free trial and testing competitors before making a decision. This allows businesses to experience the software's features firsthand and determine if it meets their specific needs. Additionally, many users find Leadpages worth the monthly expense, considering it a valuable tool for simplifying online business and collecting quality leads.

Overall, users advise choosing Leadpages for its ability to create effective landing pages, websites, and collect quality leads. They find the software user-friendly, affordable, and comparable in features to other platforms like ClickFunnels. However, some reviewers suggest exploring other options if looking for full marketing funnels or more control over micro-changes on landing pages.

I have used Mailchimp for clients, and use ActiveCampaign personally for my email marketing and have used it for clients, but prefer Leadpages for the frontend of the opt-in process because of its analytics and performance metrics. Leadpages makes it super easy to see what's performing well, without having to dive into Google Analytics or aggregate any other data. Leadpages also integrates really well with WordPress, my primary platform, with opt-in forms (wayyyy better than Mailchimp).

When I was choosing a software for landing pages there wasn't much competition. Now you can get the same thing done with many different solutions. The main problem is that when you create lots of funnels it will take a lot of time and work to move them somewhere else. This makes me think it's better to always go for a one time payment solutions or pay someone to create them in WordPress as soon as the business grows enough for that.
Alternatives to Leadpages like Thrive Themes are cheaper right now. There's also been a soft called FunnelsKit with one time payment but not much of a further development (not that popular).

Infusionsoft and MailChimp both prohibit the ability to really do a lot in terms of easily customizing the landing page. Divi does allow for almost limitless customization but it is not time efficient and there are too many working parts to make sure are in place to confidently use it on a regular basis.

I used Unbounce in 2012 for a year before Leadpages. Unbounce did not have the features I needed and was not very intuitive.

ClickFunnels is designed to be a full-funnel system but I have found the beginning part of a funnel (mainly the landing page) with ClickFunnels to be very limited compared to the features included with Leadpages. In my opinion, there is no point in buying an expensive full-funnel system like ClickFunnels if you are not getting leads due to software like ClickFunnels being too complicated or missing features that improve registration rates.

Keep in mind, when you get good at building and promoting the landing pages you build with Leadpages, you should find a good CRM (contact relations management) software because Leadpages is not a CRM. Leadpages can send a 1st email or text message but is not designed to be the long-term nurture (CRM) software. Leadpages does have a native connection to CRM's MailChimp, Salesforce, Infusionsoft, ActiveCampaign, ConstantContact, ConvertKit, Drip, Emma, GetResponse, Hubspot, iContact, Ontraport.

Well, Drip is part of Leadpages, however it is more of what the title means. It does drip campaigns, where they come in and it drips them all over the place finding out what they truly need. The other platforms are fairly good, but they do not have all the functions that Leadpages does and certainly are not near as user-friendly with drop and drag or live interactions on some of these.

When test driving Leadpages we also took a look at Instapage which, though powerful in a variety of ways, was, in my opinion, overpriced for what you were getting. I will say during our Instapage trial I was impressed by the integration and reporting capabilities, however, they fell short of my expectations when it came to the editor.

Unbounce is a great product, but if you're new to landing page builders and running lead generation campaigns in general, then I would recommend Leadpages due to the pricing and scalability (unlimited pages). You'll soon find out how important landing page design is, and how certain things have to be on point so the conversion rate can be acceptable. Leadpage's intuitive builder is easy for any beginner.

Marketo is great for lead management and automation, but their landing page creation tool is very lacking. Our team is small and often lack the time or resources to have custom-made landing pages, so Leadpages offers a great way to continuously to generate new content using a WYSIWYG editor. We also like all of the landing page template options (for webinars, events, new gated content, etc).

Leadpages' and Unbounce's landing pages are both built using drag-and-drop editors, are mobile friendly (responsive), and feature a reasonable suite of integrations - including Wordpress. Both offer plans that feature A/B testing. The deciding factor for us in choosing Leadpages was price. Unbounce is significantly more expensive with their cheapest plan currently at $79 / mo billed annually. Leadpages is currently $48 / mo billed annually for their middle tier plan.

We selected Leadpages over Unbounce because Unbounce had awful analytics options - it was incredibly difficult to measure ROI on that platform. The builders are roughly the same, from the perspective of using a WYSIWYG editor.

Leadpages is the market leader so it was easy to go with them. I also started using them in 2016, when there were far fewer products on the market. Since then the landscape has become much more competitive, but I signed a 2 year contract at a time when there seemed to be a wide gulf between Leadpages and everyone else.

I have used Podcast Websites and Kajabi both with Leadpages and outside of LeadPages. I ended up leaving LeadPages because Kajabi and Podcast Websites have everything I need and the cost overall was less. LeadPages is a good starter program, so don't hesitate to get it if you're starting out and need to just start making money.

Leadpages is much more flexible, easier to use, and generally satisfying in delivering high-quality results. Compared to other page builders, it offers an experience that features a lot fewer moments of frustration or bewilderment. Although it represents a noteworthy financial commitment on our part, we have discovered that it's ultimately more cost-effective than other alternatives.

Infusionsoft has a new built in landing page builder as a part of their product. However, we still choose to use the Leadpages builder because it is simpler to use and has more options for types of elements to use on the page, like a countdown timer and progress bar. Leadpages is also easier to integrate with WordPress than Infusionsoft's landing page builder.

I believe that Leadpages is the most full-featured and reliable solution for hosting landing pages and creating forms. What it didn't offer until recently was the ability to manage email campaigns and customer lists. Their Drip product offers some of that functionality now. It won't replace a robust CRM platform or an ATS solution, but it will offer some functionality to a growing company.

I chose Leadpages for it's ability to host professional-looking landing pages and forms. I was using AWeber at the time to manage my email lists and Leadpages was the landing page solution in my tech stack. I'll still use Leadpages for clients who need limited but reliable functionality on a small budget.

Leadpages is less expensive, has options for WordPress import and also has a better support team in place in my opinion. I actually use both Leadpages and Unbounce depending on the goal of the page -- for speed, Leadpages wins but for custom and the drag/drop builder, Unbounce works better for those types of landing pages.

I actually never used a lead page type program before but I heard from many sources that it was the BEST so I trusted that fact and bought the year subscription and never looked back. I think its the best on the market out there right now and I would recommend it to anyone.

Other than Leadpages, I also use Instapage for creating high quality landing pages for my business. While I like them both I tend to lean towards Leadpages because of Leadpages integration settings. I love how customization is so easy and flexible with Instapage but I found their integration with Infusionsoft to be more difficult and faulty. If you didn't have a little bit of tech information or aren't good with HTML, then it would be difficult to force Instapage to integrate with a CRM like Infusionsoft (atleast in our case). At the end of the day, if lead generation is the goal, your efforts are worthless without a good integration into your CRM. Leadpages is just so simple... and it just works!
