  • The app's search engine often won't load
  • Interface isn't as good as others
  • Statutes are hard to find
Lexis is really just best suited if you don't have access to Westlaw. Overall, it it does get the job done, but the user experience is not the best. Searches could be better indexed and relevant information (e.g. cases, statutes, issues, past searches) aren't as easily accessible. If you aren't doing a ton of additional research it is good for blue book citations.

LexisNexis Quicklaw is used for legal research. It is used both to find the answer to a specific question by finding a particular case, and it is used generally as a starting point for research. LexisNexis Quicklaw provides access to case law via primary and secondary sources. In addition, it is a helpful tool to search statutes or regulations.
  • Quickly find cases
  • Find current and past statutes
  • Look up secondary sources
  • Sometimes the interface gets a little busy
  • Could be more streamlined
  • Too colorful
LexisNexis Quicklaw is best suited when you need to look up a particular case quickly. LexisNexis Quicklaw provides resources to make sure that the case you have searched is “good” law. LexisNexis Quicklaw is also very efficient in finding other similar cases that may be more on point to the facts of the argument.
