We have locations all across the world and our Head Priest uses it to consult and listen to individuals in the organizations via the Video conference. We have a 10 user license for the Lifesize Cloud. Initially we were using it also for relaying his Live Sermon for various locations but we found that the quality sent was not good enough. So now we use Livestream to transmit the Live sermon because a two way communication is not required. Also having Lifesize Cloud on the Head Priest's laptop enables him to be anywhere in the world and still have the capability of contacting all other locations.
  • It is great to have a universal directory that everyone has in sync.
  • Good to have the flexibility to use a laptop for Lifesize.
  • Good to be able to test the system using the Virtual Call feature.
  • Previously with Polycom we had the ability to view the Far end via camera to see who was in the room or which location they were already on a call.
  • The Virtual Test call could be improved further because during the recording of your video it should split the screen to show you what it is recording. It should also have the capability of calling you back to make sure that other people can call you.
  • The quality of the video is not too good when more than 3 locations are connected.
It is good for video conference between two locations, but not too good if more that two locations join in.

It was implemented very well by Sensus Communications.
We find it easy to use.

Yes
Polycom. Replaced because of better quality.
I always like to see the products in action. So a live demo and then a comparison of products would be my deciding factor.

Sensus was able to guide us in the right direction with a demo of both Polycom and Lifesize
  • Third-party professional services
Sensus helped in the initial setup.
No
Change management was minimal
It was all managed by our tech team
  • Learning how to use
  • Training other users
  • in-person training
Sensus was really helpful in the initial setup and training of our technical Support Team. Sensus gave us training on site so that it would be our own equipment that was set up. Then the in house tech team took over to train other users who would be using the system. When needed the Sensus and Lifesize tech support were really helpful in trouble shooting or guiding us through any difficulty.
Just right at present
Lifesize cloud is great but it would be good if the far side conference room could be viewed before making a call. Polycom had that ability in the Internet Management console.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
Again the ability to view the far end room before the conference call.
No
Because we are getting enough support
Yes, our system in India lost it's registration because of the 30 day time out. The Service Renewal license expired because our provider sent the renewal email to the wrong account. Together with Lifesize help we were able to renew without the extra re-certification cost and Tech. Support helped us to get the system back on line.
  • Having the Lifesize cloud directory
  • Setting up a meeting
  • Sending out calendar invites
  • Split screen for various modes of display.
  • Sharing data from a PC
  • The initial training of other personnel.
Yes
Works great if you use a wired headset. Not too good on speakerphone.
Lifesize has always been a reliable product but they sure need to catch up on a lot of other features that Zoom has implemented for it's meetings. There is more control in a Zoom meeting and Lifesize needs to catch up. I guess teh tough part is that they are more hardware based and Zoom is more software based.
We have rarely encountered an outage with Lifesize. It did occur once and then we just ha to communicate via phone. Now we also have Zoom as a backup system. Currently we are also testing Microsoft Teams to see what is the best fit for us. It would be really nice if Lifesize hardware could be used with other software such as Zoom or Teams.
Lifesize performance as aone to one video conference system is good. But they lack features when it comes to sharing and setting up meetings. Sharing computer sound has been a real problem for us. Because if the mic is muted then the computer sound also gets muted. They should be seperate entities.

Lifesize Video Conferencing is used across the entire organization. We have offices across 2 states, and it allows departments to hold meetings without requiring people to travel. Remote employees use the desktop version to connect to conference rooms and other staff members.
  • It's easy to invite people with and without Lifesize Cloud accounts to a meeting.
  • Video calls can be made through a web browser. We don't have to require attendees to install software.
  • The desktop client can be pushed out using Active Directory group policies
  • The Lifesize Cloud management portal is a bit clunky. It could use a redesign.
The cost may be prohibitive for some people, but it's far less expensive than other solutions.

  • Travel has been reduced significantly
  • Collaboration between offices has been increased as teams meet regularly to discuss projects and procedures
  • State agencies and groups have begun using our offices to hold video conferences because of the quality and ease of use
Working with the correct resale partner is key. Our vendor was fantastic.
  • Cisco TelePresence
Features are comparable, but Lifesize is much less expensive.

All members of IT are responsible for providing support for the systems, but it only requires basic technical knowledge. It's not a difficult system to support or maintain. User creation and client installations are very straightforward.
  • Reduce travel cost between remote offices
  • Increase communication within departments
  • Conduct multi-site staff trainings
  • Conduct customer/client conference calls and webinars
  • Provide equipment access to partner organizations
The equipment has given us everything we had hoped for, at a reasonable cost. It's easy to use, greatly increases communication, and has saved us money in mileage and travel costs. There's no need for us to research or switch to a different solution.
  • We had a board member participate in a board meeting from a cafe in Paris while on vacation.
  • Our conference rooms have been loaned out to State agencies for collaboration meetings on several occasions.

All business functions have used the conferencing equipment. Staff training, manager meetings, new hire orientations, and Board of Director meetings have all been conducted using the equipment.

I wouldn't change anything. We're happy with our selection, and our implementation partner was and continues to be outstanding. This project was extremely well received within my organization, and continues to pay dividends today.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
As a non-profit, price is always an important factor for us when purchasing new technology. When we compared Lifesize to other solutions, we found that usability and features were comparable, but the cost was quite a bit lower. At that point, it was an easy decision to make, and we have no regrets.
  • Vendor implemented
Yes
We had a multi-office installation. The equipment was installed in our headquarters first, followed by several remote offices.
Change management was minimal
  • We only had one minor issue with scheduling a 3rd part vendor to mount a monitor. It was quickly sorted out and the implementation proceeded smoothly.
We routinely use the system for training.
Everything we've wanted to configure has been available, so I believe configurability is just right for this product. We were even able to connect the system to our VOIP phone system.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
All of our issues (there haven't been many) have been resolved quickly.
We were having a problem with conferences freezing when multiple offices connected. I worked with support to create an online meeting room so they could monitor the traffic to troubleshoot the problem. Once the cause was identified a fix was released in a patch.
  • Connecting to other conference rooms or telephones
  • Connecting the system to a PBX
Yes
The app works well on an iPhone.
We're very satisfied with our systems.
We haven't had any problems adding new devices to our collection of Lifesize equipment.
We have had very few issues with our Lifesize equipment, and most of those have been resolved simply by rebooting the device.
Our vendor is very responsive and communicates with us regularly.
