Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I don't think I would change much. I would include the same areas of concern in the process. Evaluating the reliability of the product. Getting references from companies that use the product on a daily basis. Opting for a proof of concept to thoroughly testing the product and put it through it paces. Verifying all the capabilities of the product to ensure it meets our company needs and verifying the security of the product.

I wouldn't change anything. We're happy with our selection, and our implementation partner was and continues to be outstanding. This project was extremely well received within my organization, and continues to pay dividends today.

I would actually not change the way Lifesize was selected. I would rather change the way we went about the selection and include the phone system and instant messaging into this search. I would rather have one product across the board so everything works together. I feel like this would be better.

I would probably spend less time with Lync and Hangouts and move to Lifesize. Lifesize rep was also much more helpful in the process of evaluating the equipment and software. Next time i probably won't evaluate the most expensive first then check for what's free. i would look into the mid range first.

We might not select Lifesize again due to the knowledge gained from actually using the service for over a year. Specifically, the following factors would weight heavily:
Audio and Screen sharing video performance limitations
Minimal implementation support
Limited reporting
Minimal training services and materials
Lack of ongoing support to drive internal adoption

As part of our evaluation process I would look a little bit more into specific functions. The demos always make everything look easy, so now I request a test drive of any software we look into purchasing. Also, I would investigate the allowable users and see what are the real limitations of the system. With any new system and software there are little nuances that you may find during a demo period. The other thing I would do different is have the primary departments test drive the demo system and list what are their specific needs.

I would involve more key unit coordinators in the selection. I would have them maybe beta test it for feedback and usability. We saw it in action, but didn't get a hands on training per se or a chance to beta test it before purchasing.

I would spend more time on the screen sharing and test it out in different use cases.
I also would of liked to compare the screen sharing abilities on the competitors such as polycom and BlueJeans.
While price was a very important factor in the decision- it probably would not have changed my mind- just informational.

I would have looked harder at solutions for huddle rooms. I did look at the time but it would have been wise to look more deeply at manufacturers that take huddle rooms into account (if any did). I still don't like the idea that companies have of piecing together consumer grade gear into conferencing equipment. In PoCs that I did do, these types of solutions were loaded with issues.

The OPEX costs for Lifesize have increased dramatically since we implemented the system. This is due to the discontinuation of the the ClearSea application which was freely available. Now companies need to purchase the Lifesize Cloud license which for just 10 users costs several thousand a year. This is an unexpected cost and has negatively effected our overall experience of Lifesize.
