LiveRamp is a versatile platform that helps users solve a range of marketing challenges. Users report being able to upload 1st party data for partners to access, which secures more OPM$ and drives effective marketing campaigns. With the decline in privacy regulations, LiveRamp becomes even more valuable as it allows users to regain reach against targeted audiences on paid social and programmatic platforms. The platform's ability to store, segment, and sync audiences to ad platforms ensures effective targeting. One key benefit is the ease with which users can configure, link, and integrate CRM and Salesforce data to increase business relations and gain a wider audience. Additionally, LiveRamp assists users in tracking campaigns without cookies, thus solving the problem of declining tracking due to user opt-outs. It also serves as valuable CRM input for turnkey demand side platforms.

Another crucial aspect of LiveRamp is its capability for 3rd party data targeting on Linear and Streaming platforms. This feature allows users to monetize their data in places they couldn't reach on their own. Financial services firms have found value in turning proprietary data into actionable campaign analytics while personalizing websites and media campaigns. Additionally, LiveRamp helps connect directly to various DSPs, enabling precise targeting of the right consumers for marketing campaigns. Users have expressed satisfaction with how LiveRamp solves the problem of cookieless targeting and facilitates the distribution of CRM data without the need for a traditional DMP.

Using LiveRamp has led many users to gain a better understanding of the impact of their first-party data on paid media for more efficient investments. Healthcare providers have successfully leveraged the platform's capabilities to convert anonymous digital audiences into platform IDs for better advertising targeting. In fact, LiveRamp offers anonymization features that allow users to maintain privacy while still benefiting from 1:1 targeting. The platform's secure and reliable data sharing with vendors is highly regarded by users, as it ensures data integrity while preventing the need to hand over original data files. Furthermore, LiveRamp simplifies the process of combining and cleansing data sets across platforms, leading to better overall performance and value for clients' digital ad campaigns.

Overall, LiveRamp is an essential tool for audience targeting in a variety of marketing campaigns. Its value extends beyond targeting alone, as it aids in data matching, look-alike modeling, and onboarding CRM data for targeting. Another key advantage of LiveRamp is its ability to segment data and build look-alike models for audience targeting. This level of granularity allows marketers to reach specific segments with tailored messages that resonate with their interests and preferences. Furthermore, LiveRamp enables users to load data from different sources into a unified data lake for analysis and automation, empowering them to make data-driven decisions based on comprehensive insights. With LiveRamp, users can unlock the full potential of their data, deliver personalized and omnichannel customer experiences, and drive better marketing outcomes.

Ability to connect offline PII with online anonymous identities: Users appreciate LiveRamp's unique ability to connect offline personally identifiable information, or PII, with online anonymous identities as not many companies can do this. This feature has been praised by multiple reviewers for its transparency and the access it provides to valuable data.

Flexibility in integration: Many users have found LiveRamp's flexibility in integration unparalleled. The platform allows them to easily connect with industry players and expand their reach based on additional devices connected to an individual. This flexibility has been mentioned by several reviewers as a key advantage of using LiveRamp.

Universal nature of IdentityLink - IDL: Reviewers have highlighted the universal nature of LiveRamp's IdentityLink - IDL, which allows them to connect with most data partners and integrate their infrastructure. This wide range of partnerships and integrations has been seen as a significant advantage for better targeting and analytics solutions by multiple users.

Confusing and Disconnected Platform: Users have expressed frustration with the platform, stating that it is confusing and difficult to navigate. Many users have mentioned that the parts and functions of the product feel disconnected, making it hard to achieve basic tasks.

Slow Processing Time and Inaccurate Matching Rate: Some users have found the platform's processing time for features, especially with larger-sized files, to be slow. Additionally, they have stated that the matching rate is inaccurate, which can be a significant drawback for their business.

Lack of Intuitive User Interface and Confusing Template Requirements: Several users have found the user interface of Liveramp to be not intuitive, requiring a substantial amount of time to learn how to use the platform effectively. Moreover, they mention that template requirements are very confusing and can lead to delays in processing and final output updates.

Users recommend conducting a thorough test to ensure alignment with other vendors in terms of the matching process. It is important to consider data inputs when using LiveRamp's services. Involving multiple teams early, especially Legal, is advised when working with LiveRamp. Careful planning of each data set is recommended to maximize utility and maintain consistency across taxonomies. LiveRamp is recognized as a valuable partner and one of the prominent companies in the identity resolution space.

LiveRamp allows us to load data from a ton of different marketing and internal sources into one unified data lake for further analysis, my particular use deals with making sure all of our user interaction data can live in one location
  • Connecting to both new and old school data sources
  • Easy to unify a variety of data
  • One location for managing everything
  • Better UI
  • API connectivity
  • More complex ETL processes
LiveRamp is super well suited to scenarios where you need to collect data from a variety of different sources and work with it in a unified manner. It's less well suited to scenarios where you need to do complex analysis, or ETL transformations on the data.
  • Wide variety of connectivity
  • Ease of use
  • Durability
  • Much better overall business view from improved analytics
  • More actionable insights gained from cross platform analytics
  • More holistic view of the user experience

LiveRamp is being used in our Client Services department to support our clients. We primarily use LiveRamp to onboard offline or CRM data for activation in programmatic ad campaigns. We can segment the data we onboard into unique customer segments for audience targeting. We also build look-alike models off these audiences. Lastly, we leverage LiveRamp's data store to identify third-party data segments that can improve audience targeting and scalability for our programmatic campaigns.

For marketers or advertising agencies who are trying to find better ways to activate first party data to improve advertising performance, LiveRamp is the industry leading data onboarding platform. Once data is onboarded, it can be segmented in granular ways to create unique audience segments using boolean logic. LiveRamp is also well suited for identity resolution. LiveRamp will be a key player in the post-cookie world for advertisers and agencies. LiveRamp is an enterprise product for brands and agencies who invest heavily in paid media - if you aren't investing heavily in paid media and aren't investing in ad tech, LiveRamp probably isn't a good fit.

LiveRamp has become the industry leader in data onboarding, identity resolution, and data management. LiveRamp has grown faster than Neustar and the business model is more specialized than Neustar. LiveRamp has chosen to just focus on identity resolution, data onboarding, and data management, whereas Neustar has several business units and is less focused. For these reasons, we prefer using LiveRamp's technology over Neustar.
