Lookout in a nutshell
I use Lookout more on a personal level than a professional one. In all honesty other than malware scanning the backup features that Lookout provides are available for free through various other apps such as Google backup, Google photos, Samsung backup, iCloud etc. This goes the same for a device locator which is available for free from Android device manager and from Samsung and Apple. The great thing this does offer is a unified application for application security, backup, device locator and device remote wipe. For both business and personal use this simplifies your device management with a single login. The great thing is that you can still use other backup and device locator methods as well so you can have a redundant solution in place.

- The only con I have is that it is a paid solution to something that can be done for free but through multiple apps

- Prey and Cerberus
Lookout is probably one of the most well known device security and backup applications since it comes pre-installed from some mobile carriers in the USA. What others may not know is that there are others that do a similar job. Cerberus is a very similar application that for personal use is much cheaper at around $5 for a lifetime license but does not include application scanning. Lookout has either a month to month fee or a yearly fee so it will continue to cost you every year. Prey is another application but it focuses on just device location. The benefit being that not only can you locate mobile devices but you can also locate both Windows, iOS and Linux computers all from a single account. Prey comes in both free for a few devices as well as paid if you need to manage more than 3 devices. Overall if you want application security as well as device location and backup Lookout is your best bet.

Mobile works very well as it should since it is designed as a mobile device management tool. The interface is intuitive and easy to use and anyone familiar with any type of mobile application will find it easy to navigate.
