  • Since the RE/LO integration our gift entry team has been able to enter gifts as they come in. It's instant. Prior to integration, we were hand entering gifts and there was a two week backlog.
  • Since we can now build Luminate email groups directly from queries in Raiser's Edge, it has saved hours of time uploading and creating groups. And groups are much quicker to create!
  • We are able to send a variety of targeted emails to different groups with relative ease.

  • From a usability standpoint, Luminate Online is a huge improvement over the previous solution we used. It's clean and easy for the donor.
  • The startup costs to license the product, and to hire the consultants (who were the only ones at the time licensed to implement Luminated Online) was substantial. Web designers were also their own, and this continues to be a niche product that many designers don't have much experience in.
  • While the Luminate to Raiser's Edge connector was finally implemented, it still isn't the product that we envisioned it would be, nor does it give us what was promised. Our database manager spends substantially more time with the Luminate connector than with NetCommunity.

  • There's no denying that as a long term Convio client (now Luminate Online) that we have significantly grown our NPO with these tools. And our ROI is in the positive range.
  • The negative impact has been the cost of related services we must engage to configure and maintain and deploy many areas of Luminate Online with a small staff. There is just too much "specialized," insider-work-around knowledge to make it a stand-alone product without large additional costs to use the product to it's full potential.
  • This product used to set the trends and now it holds us back from being able to take advantage of the trends in many ways. An integrated system can become a limitation in this current social web environment. Staff coming in from outside the Luminate/Convio environment often complain about the system because they are used to the "ease-of-use" of many of today's offerings in the marketplace.

  • ROI has been neutral thus far. We are not yet seeing the benefits in terms of online giving and housefile growth we were promised. But I am not sure I blame Luminate for our lack of growth; I'm just disappointed that using the tool hasn't jumpstarted our efforts.

  • We've increased our online giving +200% although this is due in part to our focus on the channel and not entirely on the product.
  • We've been able to increase employee efficiency by selecting email lists per message within Luminate Online. With our prior solution we needed to request data be pulled from our database for event email.
  • We've really done a great job of growing our online tribute and memorial giving through the use of custom links and the pre-populated information has really helped with the back end processing.
