OpManager is a main tool in our data center. It assists in real time monitoring of critical assets, capacity planning from virtual servers all the way down to WAN circuits. It is a powerful software and provides all the feedback you need in several dashboards. Our Board enjoys the simple reporting we give to them on a monthly basis. Alerts are sent to our network admins in almost real-time anytime an issue is detected with a monitored host. There are lots of hardware profiles that integrate with your current networking equipment. We utilize the NetFlow feature heavily for WAN monitoring and capacity planning.
  • Alerting when critical systems are down
  • Easy to read reporting for all levels of employees

Overall it was good experience with OpManager. With help of it i am able to monitor my network and server devices in more details. It help me to being proactive. I can also able to configure customization templet for some of my non famous vendor devices. I am able to get everything i am looking for from monitoring software.
  • Easy to configure
  • Provides detailed monitoring of server and network devices
  • Proactive nature of the software
  • Creation of customize templet is lengthy
  • customer server can be better
  • topology based maps are not clear needs improvements in that
It is best suited in my current requirement because we were only focusing on the software which can provide best monitoring and proactive notification for server and network. So far it is doing what we need from it. The most liked feature is auto set threshold value which detect by software itself.

  • The Support Team is tremendous, If there is any support needed Technically like to create a custom monitoring for a new product if we provide the required MIB file they can create in a minute
  • The Interface in pretty much easy to understand even for a beginner
  • The Deployment is not an hassle.
  • There are many open source products like Nagios etc, even we have tested out that product the customization in that product will be like hassle.
  • This product is a worth buying for this price range, as far as monitoring concern
  • Even ManageEngine OpManager has Cloud version we can simply use it as an SaaS product
We are using ManageEngine OpManager for almost 2 years. Initially we used that product only for Interface Bandwidth Utilization, But now we are using it as an monitoring tool for all the network assests in our company. We are like System Intergators for SMB's we are highly recommending this product for our clients for centralized monitoring for its simplified interface and easy deployement.

We needed a tool that was easy and quick to implement because we had infrastructure in several countries to monitor and OpManager gave us that facility. There were some legal problems to sign the contract but once implemented it was very useful as well as easy to use. support is good.
  • infrastructure monitoring
  • sending notifications in real time
  • event log
  • integration with Teams or Whatsapp
  • automatic generation of cases
The tool is very easy to use, as well as very intuitive and this means that it is not necessary to have a lot of knowledge to be able to use it. The support is very efficient when it is necessary to request it. It is useful for monitoring network equipment and data centers. because it has many sensors according to the type of equipment that is being monitored.

We use ManageEngine OpManager to monitor all of our VMs, switches, and access points. It helps us by notifying us if a particular VM has gone down in real-time or if it just needs some maintenance. It also warns if the memory of a particular VM is starting to get low, so it in a way helps to prevent serious downtime and avoids disruption in the business.

  • easy setup of custom monitoring dashboards
  • Sometimes it takes time to load because it is a web application
  • topology based maps needs improvements
It is a reliable product with too few false positives than other monitoring solutions, with exact and accurate alerts, and with an amazing and user-friendly GUI. It allows the easy creation of custom dashboards. It is the best choice to manage infrastructure within different LANs. It helps to create a region-wise bandwidth report monthly. OpManager monitors network devices including firewalls, wireless LAN controllers, switches, and everything connected to the network and has an IP address. In case of an error, you can drill down to the main reason and eliminate it efficiently.

We use this product for IP management, network equipment overviews, automation, alerting and reporting.
  • IP Management
  • Inventory Management
  • Network Management
  • Network Rack Views
  • Default menus include upcharge features that aren't usable
  • Alerts are obnoxious at times for things you can't disable (ipv6)
  • Daily reminder for feature setups
  • Button for other purchasable software that you can't remove.
This software is well suited for a small to mid-size businesses that need a good all in one network solution. Being able to have a good network overview that is customizable in almost any aspect is very nice. The IPAM system is great, can report on all network devices and has many built in, with others having templates readily available on their site. It's easy to manage and setup and user administration is easy and you can give your employees only the access they need.

I use ManageEngine OpManager mainly to monitor the server infrastructure at headquarters and remote branches. The monitoring system is integrated with the IT Helpdesk system (ManageEngine Service Desk Plus) in my environment, which allows to quickly respond to critical alerts in the IT infrastructure. The graphical user interface is very user friendly.
  • User-friendly GUI
  • Agentless monitoring
  • The possibility of integrating products from the ME family
  • Zoho support
  • Often problems with updating to a newer build
  • Problems with some devices being monitored by SNMP
  • Performance/sizing requirements
ManageEngine OpManager is well suited in a scenario where other OpManager software is also used. The monitoring system can be integrated, for example, with ME Service Desk Plus or ME Applications Manager's. The system will work well in large organizations with a lot of virtual servers and other physical devices. I do not recommend OpManager for smaller companies, because it is too extensive (which is its advantage).

ManageEngine OpManager came highly recommended when we went to the market for a Network Device Monitoring Solution. Our requirements for a solution in this regard were surpassed with the product's capabilities, and the licensing cost were within the allocated budget. Deployment was straightforward and well documented, also technical support offered by the ManageEngine PitStop platform is very good and responsive. Monitoring of device availability is the main aspect of this solution we use. This gives us good visibility of device state and resource utilization. Notification profiles allow devices in error or exceeding configured thresholds to be alerted to device administrators and stakeholders. Overall experience exceeded expectations.
  • Device uptime and status is clearly visible in the dashboard
  • Notification Profiles allow us to be immediately notified when any monitored devices are in an error state or exceeding thresholds
  • Installation, configuration, and deployment of this solution are straightforward and well documented
  • Not all discovered devices can have their vendor, device, serial number, etc., details automatically populated during discovery. Manually having to enter the specific details for these devices was a little time-consuming but not really an issue.
  • Removal of decommissioned devices can be awkward if not done prior to device decommissioning.
  • OTP at login does not always work first time, usually, 2 -3 attempts are needed when logging on to the dashboard with OTP.
This solution is well-suited for monitoring Server and Networking devices. Being able to tell (and be notified) when devices are offline or are exceeding thresholds (e.g., Device Drive is exceeding threshold utilization, CPU usage high, services stopped, etc.) allows us to react to and address issues quickly. There are Device Templates for all major manufacturers and models, which makes device grouping and setup very simple. The AutoDiscovery feature, when used for device onboarding, is quite good and makes initial configuration and setup very straightforward. This solution would not be appropriate for use on standard Desktop or laptop Devices.

We utilize ManageEngine OpManager to help monitor multiple aspects of our environment including network, physical server and storage equipment, virtual machines and the applications that run within the virtual machines. OpManager allows us to centralize this monitoring and makes it much easier to troubleshoot any problems that should arise. The interface is simple to use and support for the solution from both the company and community are fantastic. We have not run into any issues with setting up custom alerts and monitors for many of our different solutions that we need to keep an eye on either. Any speed bumps we have run into when creating these custom alerts and monitors were quickly resolved by either reaching out to support or interacting with the community.
  • Ease of deployment
  • Ease of configuration
  • Ease of use
  • We have not found any negatives with what we utilize the solution for
We have had an excellent experience with ManageEngine OpManager, it was easy to demo and then move into production from there. We continue to add and tweak things as needed and have not ran into any issues or lack of functionality in regards to what we are using the solution for since adopting it. Both support and the community are readily available to help with any issues. We have setup many custom alerts and monitors for our different solutions we use and they have all worked as needed.

Not having greater visibility of the applications, it was decided to change the monitoring system to OpManager with the application manager plug-in, allowing us to locate the root of the problem in order to address and resolve it. Taking advantage of the benefits, other add ons were acquired, such as NFA for which the analysis of the traffic in our network giving us great detail of the use, allowing us to improve our network platform.
  • Network Traffic details using the Netflow Analyzer
  • Granular database information thanks to APM
  • Be able to add a wide range of monitors to devices for monitoring
  • Improve the reporting module, which allows for a better cross-checking of information
  • Greater flexibility when building dashboards
  • Improve the scope of the NFA add ons, since it is integrated into the Opmanager and provides fewer options than the one installed independently
It´s great for:

- Granular monitoring of applications and network traffic
- Distributed network monitoring
- Great diversity of devices that can be added to Opmanager, allowing the use of a single tool for monitoring different device

In my experience with this program and similar tools, the scope is superior, the benefits and the integration with other tools allow us to attack situations with the shortest downtime possible.

Using it for network devices monitoring for some of our customers. It got multiple deployment Options like Probe-based and Central Management. Thou OpManager is for network monitoring however it also covers OS monitoring and some of the MS Infra Apps like AD, exchange, etc...
  • Wide coverage of network Devices monitoring.
  • NetFlow Analyzer for bandwidth and network traffic is one of the best in market.
  • Out of the box Support for AD, SQL and MS Exchange.
  • SaaS offering would be a good option
  • It integrate well with AppManager, bring the AI/ML and it will make as observability platform
It's a good tool for the customer who is specifically looking for an On-prem solution for network device monitoring and also covers OS and MS infra apps without busing additional modules like AppManager. It doesn’t fit the customer who is looking for cloud-based solution for monitoring.

ManageEngine OpManager is used to monitor critical servers and the services they run. We have it trigger notifications, both email, and SMS, to various members in the IT department in order to get ahead of any potential downtime that the supported users may have.
  • Monitor servers that go down.
  • Monitor critical services.
  • Email and SMS notifications.
  • User interface takes some time to get used to.
  • Setting up the login credential for various devices.
  • Removing known unused devices.
Since we mainly use OpManager as a server notification application, I can only recommend it for that feature. It does this very well. It does appear to get confused in the rare instances the internal IPs are changed or the server's name is changed, which seems to require a refresh in the notification section of the application.

Recently we made market checkup for monitoring software and found out that ManageEngine has some unique features needed in our environment and price is a quite lower. Idea to have central place for monitoring network devices, servers and virtual vmware environment + some applications (databases, ibm mq, java apps...) lead us to that product. So we started migration from existing solution to ManageEngine.
  • responsive GUI
  • able to cover wide set vendors
  • have some unique features like rack views, business views
  • management of enterprise edition is really complex
  • lack of integration with AppManager (application monitoring)
  • not so easy to integrate with SIEM
From our experience it is really good and easy to handle monitoring solution below 1000 nodes, enterprise edition which supports scalability is hard to manage without external support. It lucks some central repository features even between modules inside modules of same solution. If you plan to have more then one module/product integration is done but not on satisfied level so take that into account.

We work with MSP and their end-clientele across Australia, and understand their unique requirement to gain visibility on Hybrid Infrastructure. Doing so, we cascade personalized Demo of ManageEngine OpManager ensuring it caters to client requirements. Internally, we use ManageEngine OpManager to monitor our Hybrid Infrastructure wherein 3D NOC Dashboard proactively alerts us of potential faults in Servers, Networks, and even Applications. ManageEngine OpManager is quite flexible, giving our clients the flexibility to pick and choose Infrastructure monitoring modules per their unique requirements such as capturing errors/metrics for Network bandwidth, IPAM/SPM, or APM. At the same time, the Unified console offers end-to-end visibility on the entire Infrastructure. OpManager with its strong product roadmap, continual enrichment since the past decade, Simplified UI i.e. easily navigable has gained client trust from across different geographies.
  • 3D NOC Dashboard gives granular visibility on Port in error, which saves Technician time prior to Onsite troubleshooting.
  • Separate modules such as Network Bandwidth, IPAM/SPM, APM, Server Monitoring can be opt-out Individually, huge cost saving for clients.
  • MSP version gives flexibility for Service providers, to offer Uninterrupted Infrastructure services across to their wide clientele.
  • A strong product roadmap has ensured ManageEngine OpManager is catering to unique client requirements from all geographies. We expect ManageEngine OpManager continue to do that.
Organizations are more wanting to have a Hybrid model, few organizations are moving to a 100% Cloud model. Doing so, Infrastructure monitoring i.e. ensuring Performance and Availability is catering to Internal/External client SLA is the utmost priority. OpManager captures Performance and Availability regardless of Hybrid and/or Cloud.

ManageEngine OpManager is being used as full fledged tool for infrastructure fault and performance monitoring , infrastructure that is included here is Networks (LAN, WAN), Servers, Virtual Appliances etc. ManageEngine is the centralized tool for monitoring, alerting and reporting. Network Team, Server Team, Command Center team all [rely] on ManageEngine for availability and SLA monitoring.
  • Network Monitoring
  • Servers , Virtualization Infrastructure Monitoring
  • Services and other application related components monitoring
  • Alerting, Reporting
  • Scalability Options
  • Marketing of the product
  • More out of the integrations with 3rd party tools
There were some market leader monitoring products [until] this year which were hard to replace due to their customer base even when ManageEngine had equivalent capability similar to other vendor products but still ManageEngine was not the top. I think its time ManageEngine [OpManager] can become number 1 monitoring choice as a replacement of existing market leader tool due to following reasons -
1. Powerful capabilities.
2. Same Licensing Cost.
3. Product maturity

We are using it for day to day operations. It helps to identify network related issues in the organization. We are using both OpManager npm and NetFlow for bandwidth monitoring and cost calculation.
  • ManageEngine can be deployed in Linux environment which provides an edge for fast application response and lower downtime.
  • It help us to calculate and build region wise bandwidth report on monthly basis.
  • Easy to add the filters and template in the web console.
  • We need to make OpManager more friendly in terms of application usage
  • Some of the functionalities, like adding filters for reports or creating other kinds of reports with our own filters, are not supported.
  • Need to work more on dashboard and topology maps.
It can be deployed on Linux which provides an edge compared to other tools that only support Windows for deployment. Alerting and reporting schedules are fast and we hardly get any issues with the application.

We use only it at the headquarters and one remote office (site to site VPN). We do not use it at other locations because we don't have VPNs to those sites and we don't want this information to travel over the Internet.
We use it to:
  • Monitor assets and services health including VMs, ESX hosts, switches, firewalls, access points, UPS, VPN and Internet bandwidth usage, site temperature, deupoint and humidity, water leaks.
  • Syslog and SNMP
  • Device configuration backups on a daily basis (NCM module)
  • IP address management (IPAM module)
  • Email alerts
  • ManageEngine Service Desk integration for automatic ticket logging.
We created some dashboards and NOC views and installed a couple of big screens on the wall so we can easily see alarms and notifications. We also use the mobile app.
  • You can easily create custom dashboards.
  • Very intuitive and easy to use.
  • All in one solution: monitoring, backup configuration, notifications, ipam.
  • They do not have a sensor for Azure or AWS metrics.
  • At first, you will get a lot of alarms, you have to fine-tune settings and thresholds and it could be a time-consuming process.
Great for managing infrastructure on the same LAN. Does not work to monitor Azure/AWS metrics.

I use ManageEngine OpManager to give me a top-down view of traffic usage throughout my organization and by location. The centralized console and being able to track the source and destination of traffic is indispensable.
  • Central Console for top-down view.
  • Custom alerts to alert me of high-traffic usage.
  • Custom reports for management.
  • The interface can be complicated for novice users.
  • Updates are continually released, lots of downtime to upgrade.
  • Occasionally product MIBs are not available.
If you find that instant alerts, bandwidth usage per port and connections, custom reports and central console monitoring are of use then this is the product you need for network monitoring. OpManager is a tool that gives you great monitoring and is simple to setup, gives you great options for workflow or custom monitors.

We use the demo of this system, we find it very interesting and functional, however, the monitoring of the network has already been outsourced and we do not currently use it
  • Reports
  • Automation
  • Alarms
  • Network discovery
  • Many MIBS aviable
  • Some legacy products is complicated to add.
  • They need to study about MIB files to customize certain values.
  • Network knowledge is needed to configure the SNMP on the routers and configure the server where the Opmanager will be so that it can reach all your networks.
For the simplicity of the protocol and versatility of the tool, I recommend it for any type of network or infrastructure that needs to be monitored and if it is attached to the other Manage Engine tools, it becomes a very powerful suite.

I used to use SolarWinds products for years but it got to be too expensive for renewals and too complicated to setup and configure. I made the switch to ManageEngine OpManager years ago and never looked back. I am always able to get all of the server and network monitoring configured in less than an hour with ManageEngine without having to reach out to any sort of support. Patching/updating OpManager is also a lot simpler than SolarWinds. It does a lot of stuff for the price but ManageEngine is starting to get bad about breaking out some of the monitoring features and charging for them as add-ons. Overall a great product that I would recommend to anyone!
  • Does great with real-time server monitoring using ping/WMI.
  • Great for viewing switch port status in real time.
  • Gives you an overall dashboard for your network and server stuff in one place.
  • It would be good if they would update more often. Upgrade history seems to be slowing on new versions/features the last couple of years.
This product is definitely suited for small to medium-sized businesses. Not sure how well the software would run in large environments (300+ servers).
