Network monitoring is the problem which ManageEngine OpManager has taken care. This is very good application for realtime monitoring. We appreciate the ability to automate certain troubleshooting tasks by creating workflows. It's a basic feature, but makes a big difference for us.
  • Easy to use UI
  • Low Cost of implementation
  • OpManager offers complete visibility across Network
  • Needs physical infrastructure to install the application which can be simplified using cloud.
Easy to use UI where normal engineer will handle,no special technical in-depth knowledge required.Report a problem or bug and wait for it to be resolved by another release.

We use this product for IP management, network equipment overviews, automation, alerting and reporting.
  • IP Management
  • Inventory Management
  • Network Management
  • Network Rack Views
  • Default menus include upcharge features that aren't usable
  • Alerts are obnoxious at times for things you can't disable (ipv6)
  • Daily reminder for feature setups
  • Button for other purchasable software that you can't remove.
This software is well suited for a small to mid-size businesses that need a good all in one network solution. Being able to have a good network overview that is customizable in almost any aspect is very nice. The IPAM system is great, can report on all network devices and has many built in, with others having templates readily available on their site. It's easy to manage and setup and user administration is easy and you can give your employees only the access they need.

  • Saves lots of time with reporting with audits
  • Easy view of our current information at a glance for technicians
I think for the price this product offers much more. Maybe not as pretty but certainly is feature rich with the ability to add and manage multiple device brands (Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Palo) in an easy to use and very customizable interface. You can get as deep as you want in terms of integration from the ability to make changes to your devices through the interface to just reporting, viewing, or alerting on devices. The IPAM interface has the ability to customize tons of fields to make sure what is going on a static port is noted to perfection, or just have a dns entry pull what it can. Port history and port views are incredibly helpful in our environment. Has the ability to build your server racks and build network diagrams which works well and let me give my Visio license to someone else. This product has pretty much anything you could need, the support is good, they update the software regularly, has MFA which shouldn't need to be said but some of the products we looked at don't. Other than the minor annoyances of this product, its overall a very good value and works well.

This product works very well for our organization, and it would be hard to not have a tool like this going forward.
The support is generally good with options of live chat, e-mail, or call-in support. Support inquires via e-mail are responded to quickly and they are good about remoting in to assist if it should come to this without having to jump through hoops.
No, we have the normal support offered for this application.
No
We had issues with our reporting history for the IPAM module retaining the history. Opened a chat request and as they were unable to help escalated the ticket. A day later we had a remote session going and they worked for an hour to get this component working again correctly.
The software is easy to use if not a little to menu heavy.
  • The IPAM system is incredibly easy to use.
  • Easy setup and administration.
  • Locating some networking settings can be cumbersome at first
  • To many menu options.
Yes, but I don't use it

We are using it for day to day operations. It helps to identify network related issues in the organization. We are using both OpManager npm and NetFlow for bandwidth monitoring and cost calculation.
  • ManageEngine can be deployed in Linux environment which provides an edge for fast application response and lower downtime.
  • It help us to calculate and build region wise bandwidth report on monthly basis.
  • Easy to add the filters and template in the web console.
  • We need to make OpManager more friendly in terms of application usage
  • Some of the functionalities, like adding filters for reports or creating other kinds of reports with our own filters, are not supported.
  • Need to work more on dashboard and topology maps.
It can be deployed on Linux which provides an edge compared to other tools that only support Windows for deployment. Alerting and reporting schedules are fast and we hardly get any issues with the application.

  • Using OpManager we can get bandwidth utilization reports which help us to decide our budget.
  • SolarWinds Network Automation Manager (NAM), SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM) and SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA)
I feel it can complete with other tools if they can improve little bit more.
They are responding within time. So no cons here.

We use only it at the headquarters and one remote office (site to site VPN). We do not use it at other locations because we don't have VPNs to those sites and we don't want this information to travel over the Internet.
We use it to:
  • Monitor assets and services health including VMs, ESX hosts, switches, firewalls, access points, UPS, VPN and Internet bandwidth usage, site temperature, deupoint and humidity, water leaks.
  • Syslog and SNMP
  • Device configuration backups on a daily basis (NCM module)
  • IP address management (IPAM module)
  • Email alerts
  • ManageEngine Service Desk integration for automatic ticket logging.
We created some dashboards and NOC views and installed a couple of big screens on the wall so we can easily see alarms and notifications. We also use the mobile app.
  • You can easily create custom dashboards.
  • Very intuitive and easy to use.
  • All in one solution: monitoring, backup configuration, notifications, ipam.
  • They do not have a sensor for Azure or AWS metrics.
  • At first, you will get a lot of alarms, you have to fine-tune settings and thresholds and it could be a time-consuming process.
Great for managing infrastructure on the same LAN. Does not work to monitor Azure/AWS metrics.

  • We now have a good understanding of the health of our assets and services.
  • We have a clear view of the use of infrastructure resources.
  • Based on thresholds and alarms, we can take preventive actions.
OPManager is way easier to deploy and setup; dashboards are more flexible and easier to understand.
At first, we were not able to add our Avaya switches to the configuration backup module, our partner tried to help, but they did not find the solution, we had one remote session with tech support of ME and they solve the problem.
All in one solution, easy to deploy and use. Web and mobile access.
