Very useful tool, that help us to manage our network, check flows and traffic, check hardware, failure. The portal is pretty simple and very very powerful. In some minutes we configure all users, reports, grants and all the switches, routers and so on. Currently we use NetFlow every day, a very good tool

After the adoption of NetFlow, we have an overview of the status of our network, devices, access point, router, servers (and its interactions). before NetFlow, the analysis of some network issues was very very difficult. NetFlow helps us to improve our services and our daily job and tasks. Really love it !!!

We use ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer in our organization to gain insight into bandwidth utilization, network traffic anomalies, and to troubleshoot network performance issues. We are able to gain insight into network utilization patterns, including peak times and get an understanding of when and why we are reaching out capacity. This gives us the ability to plan accordingly when it comes to network upgrades.
  • Network Bandwidth Utilization
  • Aid in performance troubleshooting
  • Reporting
  • Bundle it with OpManager
  • Better Documentation
Identifying network traffic anomalies.
Identifying applications, devices, or users that are utilizing high bandwidth.
Capacity planning for network links and internet circuits.
Detecting potential security threats or breaches.
Network performance and troubleshooting.
Reporting network utilization.
  • Network Visibility
  • Network Performance Optimization
  • Lowered cost compared to other solutions
Each of these solutions does what they aim to do. Based off of cost and need, ManageEngine fit better with our organization. We already use multiple ManageEngine products so bundling was a no brainer.

We use NetFlow Analyzer for two main purposes. First is to monitor the flow of traffic to insure each office had the bandwidth required to get their day-to-day functions. Second, when a facility reports slow performance, I use this application to take a deeper dive into network traffic to make sure the traffic is valid and nothing is passing that shouldn't be.
  • Analyze network traffic by breaking it down into conversations with the ability to look at ingress and egress traffic.
  • Gives a quick view of overall performance.
  • The interface could stand to flow a little better. It is functional, but there is room for improvement.
  • The dashboard creation process is just incomplete. For example, it would be nice to be able to add in a widget for IP groups.
If you need to monitor traffic, this is a good choice of application for the price. It does that very well. If you need to take a deep deep dive into the traffic, you will have to use something else but that is just standard with network troubleshooting... it takes multiple applications to get a complete picture... or a lot of money on 1 application. Beyond that, this application does what it is designed to do and does it very well. So to answer this question directly, this application is well suited for time when you need a high-level view of traffic and not suited well for times when you need to see more detailed information of what exactly is being sent.
  • Faster response to performance issues.
  • Identifying threats that may have slipped by AV/Anti-Malware.
There were others, but I don't recall which ones. SolarWinds only comes to mind because they were the closest we came to purchase. Here is why we did not. 1) SolarWinds has very bad sales practices. You get a demo and they spend the next 2 years calling 2) They are expensive 3) The products often do not perform well over the long haul. 4) NetFlow Analyzer just 'felt' like a better application. It was easier to setup, easier to maintain, and in a lot of ways very much faster.
The support is always on point, fast, reliable, and their employees go above and beyond to help when we need it. I have yet to call them on any product we use and not get the issue resolved in a fast and timely manner. Also, they are also very pleasant while on the phone and/or in teh email chain. Overall I just couldn't ask for better.
