  • The improvements to CPA the bidding has made on the clients' accounts, made them comfortable and confident enough to incrementally keep raising budget from 100K to 400K/month over the course of the year.
  • As an agency, the ROI is great. Being able to automate many of the more time consuming tasks makes it far easier to remain within monthly budgeted hours per client.
  • The support could be a little better, there were instances where tags would break and would compromise the quality of data and it was difficult for us to diagnose the root of the problem.

  • It has definitely increased employee efficiency because we run on Yahoo Gemini, Bing, and Google. If we had to optimize/report per engine, it would take hours and hours each week.
  • I think it's made optimizations less of a daunting task in my daily routine. I've been able to pinpoint where our ROI suffers and work from there in a matter of minutes.
  • The customer service has gotten better and could still be improved. Our Marin rep used to be horrible at returning messages but once he got support, we were able to implement a ton more pixels and betas.

  • Negative: Lowered client trust in agency when there were critical problems with the tool that were not swiftly addressed. Removed part of their business out of both Marin and the agency due to this experience.

  • For our Local paid search team, it increased our account managers productivity an incredible amount. When running on DoubleClick, AMs were expected to manage no more than 80 accounts per person. After the transition to Marin, some AMs were managing up to 130 accounts efficiency.
  • When it comes to customer service, I was incredibly impressed the first 6-8 months. Then everything fell apart. We had a dedicated account manager but they wanted to push all issues through their support center. I understand why they would want to do this, but the support center didn't know our unique setup and, quite honestly, half-assed everything that came their way. This happened across teams in the company as well. I definitely saw an alarming decline in customer service over time.

  • We focused on lead and application conversion, so bid management was of essence. After integration backend CRM with frontend conversion data, we were able to bid on quality conversions and have better ROI.
  • Marin is a bit pricey, but is definitely worth it in the long run.
