Users have found that the software is highly effective in solving insurance and benefits management tasks. It simplifies the process of open enrollment by providing a centralized platform where users can view and manage all employee benefits. This eliminates the need for paperwork and enables online submission of benefits to HR, saving valuable time and reducing administrative burden.

One key use case is managing healthcare benefits for a small number of employees with different levels of care and plans. The software streamlines this process, making it easier and less stressful during open enrollment. Employees can self-enroll in benefits using the software, which not only saves time but also empowers them to take control of their own healthcare needs.

Another major benefit is that it helps with insurance for employees, simplifying the process of entering new hires and making it easier to assist employees with their needs. It provides easier access to employee selections, making budgeting easier, and frees up HR staff to work on other projects during open enrollment.

Additionally, the software consolidates all benefits into one program, reducing manual and paper enrollments and processing. This allows for faster processing of benefits during open enrollment, resulting in greater efficiency for both HR teams and employees.

Moreover, the software's automation and compliance management features enable paperless HR processes and seamless onboarding of employees. It eliminates the need for manual data gathering, provides access to expanded benefit offerings, and makes it easier to complete a group census.

Furthermore, the software handles open enrollment with ease by presenting options to employees and automating the flow of premium information to payroll. Employees have access to detailed plan information and can manage tasks that previously required HR involvement. The software also provides a user-friendly dashboard for easy administration and accurate payroll deductions.

Lastly, this software creates unity and uniformity in benefits offered across the organization, minimizing confusion. It also stands out to brokers by offering a free online benefits administration system to clients.

Overall, this product has proven to be immensely valuable in simplifying insurance and benefits management tasks, streamlining open enrollment, and providing a user-friendly platform for employees to manage their benefits effectively.

Functionality and ease of use: Users find the functionality and ease of system use of Health fantastic. Health is intuitive and employee-friendly, making it easy for HR admins to navigate and use. Some users have mentioned that proper training makes Health fairly simple to use for HR admins, and it becomes foolproof when following a process for onboarding, qualifying events, and terminations.

Dashboard feature: Users like the dashboard feature that displays the number of people who haven't started, are in progress, and need approval. This feature provides a clear overview of the status of different tasks.

Ease of benefit administration: Health eases the process of managing health benefits, insurance, and reporting analytics, providing convenience and ease of use. The platform is easy to navigate for both employees and admins. Some users have mentioned that regular enhancements based on user feedback are appreciated. Integration with a lot of carriers is also seen as a positive aspect by users.

Difficulties with Payroll Integration: Some users have experienced difficulties integrating different payroll vendors, resulting in a manual process for updating payroll. This has caused inefficiencies and increased the risk of errors.

Software Interface Improvement Needed: Several users mentioned that the software interface could be improved to enhance user experience. They found it less intuitive and suggested making it more user-friendly and visually appealing.

Limited Integration with Payroll Vendors: Users expressed a desire for the software to integrate with more payroll vendors, increasing flexibility and options for managing payroll. They felt restricted by the limited choices available, which made it harder to align their existing processes with the software.

Based on user reviews, there are three common recommendations for Health. Firstly, users suggest inquiring about carrier integrations for EDI feeds and payroll compatibility, as this could enhance the platform's capability for integrating health benefits seamlessly. Secondly, users recommend considering the Marketplace for voluntary benefits and financial products as a useful addition to Health, providing users with a wider array of options to choose from. Thirdly, users recommend familiarizing oneself with the program and utilizing it fully. They found that Health offers great training and support, which can aid in maximizing the system's potential. Overall, users find Health helpful, especially for small to midsize companies. They believe it is the best system for coverage and EDI functions. However, users also suggest evaluating Health against other competitors before making a commitment.

We are currently using Maxwell Health to manager our annual open enrollment for benefits, as well as for new employee enrollment into benefit plans. All employees use Maxwell Health to select their benefit plan choices. Employees are able to see the cost of each plan as they are considering their options. The system will change the employees cost share in real time to allow them to make the most informed decision. Additionally, Maxwell Health allows employees to review the plan documents for each benefit plan during open enrollment and throughout the year. Maxwell Health provides filling forms that move from the employee to the employer for enrollment/change to approval. This has allowed us to cut down on the need to print and store forms that contain sensitive information. We have incorporated Maxwell Health's form workflow to include other human resource documents that require approvals. Maxwell Health provides employees with one location to go to for their benefit needs.
  • Maxwell Health does a very good job of providing employees the useful information they need to make an informed decision regarding their benefits. This includes pricing and benefit plan summaries.
  • The form approval workflow allows employees to complete necessary forms from a location of their choice. This means that they can make more informed decisions in an environment that may includes other decision makers, reduces the need to bring sensitive personal information to the workplace, and can be done at a time that is convenient for their schedule.
  • Maxwell Health provides a place to post information that employees may need from time to time. This includes information on benefits, instructional information for completing forms and an employee handbook.
  • I would like a greater ability to attach files to an employee record to create an electronic personnel file. This include benefit enrollment forms to others forms attached through a scanning function.
  • The approval workflow can be cumbersome at times as a small change will trigger the form being returned to the employee for their approval and thus resetting the approval process. I understand this is necessary, but it is a delay when the change is small and doesn't effect the benefit selection process.
  • Greater portability of information with more providers through EDI feeds would be helpful.
Maxwell Health is well suited to assist employers with the administration of open enrollment for employees. It provides the employee the necessary information to make informed decisions, allows them to do so at a time and place of their choosing. Additionally, it can assist employers with an workflow that can be used whenever employee approval forms are required. Maxwell Health is not well suited to be used as an all encompassing employee personnel file. It has limitations on the information that can be attached to an employee record.
  • Maxwell Health has cut down on our need to print benefit summaries and distribute to employees. All information can be accessed by employees online.
  • It has become more efficient to track employee progress through the benefit selection process by viewing the dashboard feature in Maxwell Health. I can easily see where each employee is in the process.
  • Maxwell Health as been a resource I can point employees to when they have questions or a need to view benefit information. Additionally, they can do so at a time when they need the information, as opposed to when I am available to assist them.
We currently use Paylocity for our payroll and some HR needs. Maxwell Health and Paylocity work together to share information. There are some features in Paylocity that work better, such as new employee orientation forms. This is more for forms that directly tie into the employee's record that affects their paycheck. Paylocity does not provide a way for employees to access benefit information and make selections.

We use Maxwell Health to manage our current benefits that the company offers. It is used across the whole organization for all employees. It helps create unity across and benefits that are offered and creates great uniformity for all positions. We have not had many issues with confusion since it is very straightforward.
  • Creates Uniformity
  • Ease of Use
  • Helps answer any questions about benefits
  • It does not display all the details
  • Could have more visible contact information
  • The mobile platform is not as easy to use
Maxwell Health is easy to use and it provides a great way to manage all of the benefits offered by the company to the company as a whole. It answers many of the questions right there on the platform without the user having to contact any type of support. It saves time for the employee and makes them aware of what benefits they currently have.
  • Benefit Awareness
  • Less work for HR
  • A more productive solution for benefits

All employees are set up with a Maxwell Health self-serve account when they join the company. It allows them to see what benefits are available, costs and even plan documents that detail what is covered, deductibles, etc. We use the tool mainly for open enrollment, but employees can access at any time if they are looking for information about their benefits. There is a mobile app as well.
  • Ease of Use.
  • Ability to run admin reports on benefits and costs.
  • It will make your open enrollment paper free!
  • The reporting takes some getting used to, but it is robust.
  • ACA reporting data file is HUGE, a lot to look through.
  • Admin email alerts are not super specific.
Definitely could work for any size company who is looking to move away from paper forms and offer self serve to employees. If you don't have a main HRIS system where you are tracking benefits/costs, Maxwell will do the job. I can't really think of a scenario where Maxwell is not well suited for a company, unless that company really loves paper forms. Even then, you could just use Maxwell as an admin and accept paper from employees and make the edits.
  • Reduced open enrollment processing time.
  • Easy to reconcile invoices with reporting features.
  • Vendor/carrier integration feature.
I have mainly worked with the carrier and vendor sites as an administrator. Maxwell is far and away a better interface, simple to use and you have all benefits and employees in one place. No more jumping from website to website, logging in each time just to process changes for one employee.
