Both the Fortinet FortiExtender and the Fortinet FortiGate products are great because they provide the agency with secure technology and allow for good network speed and security. Fortinet FortiExtender and Fortinet FortiGate are both costly and a better lower cost solution would be better suited if the budget restrictions of your agency are very important for you.

In client network we had fortigate firewall already which gives defacto selection for forti extender. meraki needs meraki firewall to implement MG device which increased the cost of project and complexity of implementation and project duration. also clients needs special training for meraki infrastructure if that selected to move forward with WAN link backup.

FortiGate helped me to manage the firewall and fix it while easily managing the user. With FortiExtender, it is now easy to manage the connectivity, with minimizing downtime and maximizing the overall efficiency and connectivity of the member. The seamless integration, failover protection, and high-end cloud-based connectivity made it easy to adopt and implement.

We ultimately decided on Fortinet FortiExtender because of our existing firewall and the connection between the two. We do use Ubiquity access points as well, but for fail over we use the Fortinet Fortiextender.
