What is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management?

Microsoft's Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management allows users to use predictive insights and intelligence from AI and Internet of Things (IoT) across planning, production, inventory, warehouse, and transportation management to maximize operational efficiency, product quality, and profitability. It replaces the SCM capabilities of the former Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (Dynamics AX), splitting them off from Dynamics 365 Finance, in order to provide more flexible pricing and allowing customers to buy only what they need.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Management enables organizations to run smarter with connected operations. It optimizes manufacturing parameters for each product family, including make to stock, makes to order, pulls to order, configures to order, and engineer to order. It optimizes the flow of manufacturing material and finished goods with advanced warehouse and logistics management. It improves product quality by identifying and resolving issues through real-time insights and predictive intelligence.
  • Synchronizing logistics across sites, warehouses, and transportation modes.
  • It reduces procurement costs and gains greater control by automating procure-to-pay processes.
It is good for small and medium-size customers. Large customers have unique requirements and D365 somewhere lacking compared to products like SAP SCM. UX is very good. Works well with integration with Microsoft products. Integration with 3rd party products like SAP is not that great. It is easier to learn compared to SAP.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management
1 year of experience
As a user for any service or software, It is important that it should be stable, Coming to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, My personal feeling is that is it is pretty much stable and always updates are available, However due to some issues which might be technical or something happens in back, It feels a little bit lags in terms of performance. Talking about its core capabilities, It is above other SCM applications in the same segment. when it comes to manufacturing and distribution it is a power platform which fixes the common issues and helps further to generate the reports which is a little bit glitchy here
  • Up time and Environments: Environment is always monitored and has a high up time
  • Updates: It is continuously updated with new features and bug fixed along with new legislations
  • Ita core capabilities are great for both manufacturing and distribution purposes.
Its core capabilities are grate within the manufacturing and distribution, when it comes to its grid components it is very strong, although exporting everything to excel was critical and it was fixed by introducing a new way "Export to Datalake" and leverages the ERP data. It has broad range of capabilities, integration patterns and modules. Singles instance for solution are good.

  • I don't have such Ideas on it , However it has positive response from my colleagues.
the flexibility and cloud implementations allow for flexible design of our physical space. Its looks and feels make us easy for onboarding as well as the documentation process for files or product features or configuration settings helps a lot in it. to decide a power platform for business it is best to choose a perfect one as it can change the solution and can impact the business as well.
