  • We had to solve multiple issues, troubleshoot and spend a lot of time on problems.
  • Mailbox maintenance is practically automatic, so that's a saver!
  • Exchange Server Calendar is problematic to sync with external solutions. Had to spend a lot of time on this, with no success after all...

  • Microsoft Exchange enables a large and distributed workforce to stay connected via email

  • Microsoft Exchange increasingly aligns with modern security practices, such as MFA (multi-factor authentication), and IdP (identify provider) integration.

  • The native integration with other Microsoft tools helps us to avoid expend money on other platforms or 3rd. party integrations.
  • The Online version helps us to free some infrastructure resources to use for other projects.
  • The situation of really don't know the details that you will lose switching from On-Premise to Online version could impact the licensing cost because maybe you will need On-Premise licenses for some users and Online licenses for others.

  • It has improved meeting setup and meeting management significantly along with all types of calendar events. It does lack the capability to identify the national holidays or country-based holidays.
  • Email management and organization is very well defined.
  • Increased productivity because it is relatively easy to use.

  • We have more than 10000 apps/servers generating alerts and we couldn’t use Office 365 for this to be monitored so we used Microsoft Exchange and gave access to multiple users which helped a lot for the operations team.
  • Single point of connect from a big team.

  • After testing I found Exchange very good at removing/quarantining malware.
  • The Global Address List is great for finding the correct person within the organization to deal with.
  • The Clutter feature is terrible. Sometimes putting important emails into that folder for no discernible reason.

  • One con and negative is that Migration to the cloud can be a hassle.
  • Depending on the Exchange version you’re running, the steps to complete the migration might require a lot of effort, starting with the prerequisites. Many businesses that are willing to migrate their services to Office 365 end up canceling the project when they run against this challenge because they lack support. However, If you decide to work with an MSP, you can benefit from expert advice and get a dedicated team that can guide you through the process. This will guarantee a smooth transition and quick adoption of Exchange Online.
  • One negative is the Increased Bandwidth, Some organizations, especially highly collaborative ones, will need to double or even triple their bandwidth upon moving to hosted Exchange.
  • End-user proximity to Server Performance and information access without the internet helps in improving Performance and access times as long as Exchange Server is well configured and set up.

  • The threat detection has saved us from possible breaches multiple times and kept users from interacting with emails that could have caused a security incident.
  • After switching to Exchange online the number of hours spent on email administration has dropped dramatically.
  • The data loss prevention configuration has helped us curb possible issues with employees sharing sensitive information over email.
  • The new reporting features have allowed us to adjust many of our email filtering rules to cut down on spam as well as reduce the amount of useless archived data.
