What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams combines video conferencing software with team collaboration tools. The communications platform allows MS Office users to conduct conference calls and share files via SharePoint, and join or initiate a group chat.

Microsoft Teams features three tiers of pricing. The first is a subscription-less, free option that offers the same features as the other two tiers but does not offer administration tools like analytics and access to on-premise servers, or support features like 24/7 phone and web support. The second and third tiers are based on the size of your business and its conferencing needs. Its “Office 365 Business Premium” option starts at $12.50 a month per user, with a required annual commitment, and its “Office 365 E3” option for enterprises starts at $20 a month per user, also with a required annual commitment.

Key Features
Meetings: Meet with teams of 10 or 10,000. Host audio, video, and web conferences with anyone inside or outside your organization or go big with live events.

Calling: Its Phone System feature enables PBX capabilities including call control in Office 365 and replaces on-premises PBX. Its calling features are customizable to fit your organization’s unique needs.

Microsoft Team is quite simple to use, once you understand how it works. However, I find that explaining its use to a new user requires more software expertise than comparable software. Efficient use of the software is also not fast. Moreover, adding components requires a learning curve which also complicates its use for a person unfamiliar with the environment.

It still does not allow me to run multiple sessions (tabs) in the same browser so I can easily copy and paste content between Chat, Calendar, Projects, Office, etc). I still have to run different browsers at the same time plus the MS Teams App so I can have dedicated windows for chat, calendar, etc. This is quite a nuisance for many of us.

I can use it on my laptop or my phone, and it offers a simple user interface for catching up on meetings and calls, as well as control over call settings and device detection. Instead of using Skype, a log for chat is a great alternative.

There is way a lot of clicking around and around and multi-step processes for assignments that ought to be straightforward, such as moving archives starting with one spot then onto the next or exploring the report set. Things that ought to be simplified take at least 3 ticks to accomplish, and you need to stand by a lot of time for the page to stack after each snap. The product appears to be swollen and slow.

While working from home, Microsoft Teams has become a great platform for all meetings in a virtual office. We use video meetings on Teams and for the group discussions as well as file sharing and documentation. Its ability to integrate with other platforms like Zoom, Outlook, Slack, etc. makes it very effective and you can get all notifications from other platforms.

User experience has been much better than the previous Skype for Business app. It has an easy-to-use interface with persistent chats. The search feature is very fast and useful. MS Teams has mostly focused on Collaboration and team building features which are very useful for organizational communications. Since Teams is accessible from multiple platforms like Laptop, Desktop, Mobile phones, etc it has been very convenient from a Mobility perspective.

The usability of the platform was inherently easy. I felt like a confident user with no training needed. I'd highly recommend this platform if you are looking for easy navigation for all employees.

The overall functionality of the product is incredible in that it provides a one-stop solution for organization and communication. The product is also very well integrated into Microsoft Outlook and other Office apps. Visually pleasing and very easy to use interface. New features are constantly being added to enhance the user experience.

There is so much ease in usability, my team only needed one meeting to go over how to use Microsoft Teams and what the potential was for benefits. The way we adapted to Microsoft Teams much faster than Slack was a testament to how well it was able to be used. I can't think of going back to Slack because of the integrated model with Outlook and the way my team has adjusted.

Teams would be my first choice as a video conferencing application and with everything going virtual this is my go to application. Its zoom + slack like features allows users to experience multiple apps in one rather than having the need to download multiple applications. This way a user will not have to switch between application. Thus due to better usability and better understanding I have given ut that rating

I would have given it 10 if the app version could stand the desktop version in terms of robustness, capabilities, and functionality. This is sadly not the case, and more and more you could see workers only relying on their smartphone and using Microsoft Teams through it, which makes the experience for the desktop user not very good.

Microsoft Teams is very easy to use. The platform is straightforward and easy to navigate and understand the features being used. It helps in reaching out to a colleague for a quick question via the chat feature. Setting up meetings is very easy and simple to do as well. Uploading and downloading files is a simple click and you are done.

With little technical knowledge, you will be able to use Microsoft Teams just fine. Without it, though I can understand it can be difficult to connect your audio and video input and make sure everyone can hear you, especially when you've got multiple devices hooked up to your machine. It will work great for most and that's what counts.
