Mikogo has proven to be a valuable tool for a wide range of users, addressing various needs and providing convenient solutions. Many users have leveraged Mikogo for virtual training sessions, allowing them to conduct remote training across long distances with ease. The platform's capabilities have impressed users during online presentations and video conferences, as it offers a comprehensive set of features that enhance the user experience. In addition, individuals have found great value in using Mikogo for personal reasons, such as providing remote support to friends and family with computer issues. This eliminates the need for complicated phone video chats and streamlines the support process. Furthermore, Mikogo has been praised by users for its time-saving benefits, especially during remote meetings where participants can collaborate efficiently without physical limitations. However, it is important to note that some users have faced challenges with Mikogo's subscription cancellation process, which impacted their overall experience. Nevertheless, many users have attested to the product's usefulness in connecting to someone's workstation or sharing their screen conveniently.

Beyond these specific use cases, Mikogo has provided valuable benefits in several other areas. It has proven to be an excellent tool for remote support, facilitating troubleshooting sessions and assisting clueless end-users effectively. Additionally, the platform excels in hosting online conferences and meetings through VoIP, offering an alternative option for users in India who lack access to call numbers. Users have also praised Mikogo for its lightning-fast screen sharing capabilities, enabling seamless collaboration and speedy interactions. Professionals across different industries have found immense value in utilizing Mikogo for work purposes as well. For educators and trainers, the platform has offered a fine learning experience by facilitating communication with students and seamless navigation through websites. Moreover, Mikogo allows users to remotely access multiple devices simultaneously, saving time and increasing efficiency.

The product has been particularly useful in managing highly dispersed teams, providing remote assistance within a test environment, and connecting with virtual clients seamlessly. Its web conferencing capabilities simplify tasks like screen sharing, file sharing, and presenter switching during meetings. It has been commended for its minimal lag and quick connections, making it an effective tool for business tasks with clients. Furthermore, Mikogo's free version is highly regarded by users as a wonderful tool, while the enterprise version caters specifically to business purposes. However, there have been some mixed experiences reported by users, particularly in dealing with Mac participants and document transfers. Despite this, Mikogo's remote enrollment services have remained valuable to many users.

Users have also emphasized the convenience and efficiency of Mikogo for connecting with virtual clients, making it a preferred choice for many. The platform's customer support has received high praise from users who have found it to be responsive and helpful. This level of support, coupled with the ease of use even for non-computer literate individuals, contributes to the overall positive experience of using Mikogo.

Mikogo has successfully solved the problem of connecting with virtual clients, particularly for agents in industries like insurance. A director at United American Insurance Co. recommended Mikogo to agents as a reliable solution for virtual client connections. Moreover, the platform has been widely embraced by virtual teams seeking quick and easy connections without the need for extensive downloads or installations. This simplicity extends to collaborating with users from organizations with strict security protocols.

The software's usefulness in troubleshooting issues that require hands-on assistance has been hailed by many users. Being able to log into a remote PC and examine configurations on files or programs has proven invaluable in resolving technical challenges efficiently. ERP consultants have also harnessed Mikogo's capabilities to support customers by viewing and controlling their remote desktops, while utilizing drawing and chat features as well.

While other collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex are often favored, Mikogo serves as a reliable go-to option when those platforms are not available. Its user-friendly interface has garnered positive feedback, particularly for non-technical individuals who find it intuitive to navigate.

In summary, Mikogo offers a plethora of use cases that cater to a wide range of users' needs. Whether it's conducting virtual training sessions, hosting online presentations and video conferences, providing remote support to friends and family, or managing highly dispersed teams, Mikogo proves its value through its powerful features and efficient connectivity. While there have been some reported challenges with subscription cancellation and compatibility issues with certain devices, the overall user experience remains positive, with many users praising Mikogo's convenience, speed, and technical support.

Effective Screen Control: Many users have praised Mikogo for its superior screen control function, which has been described as highly effective and outperforming similar functions on other platforms like MS Teams.

Fast Connectivity and High-Quality Audio/Video: Reviewers have appreciated the fast connectivity and high-quality audio/video provided by Mikogo. These features enhance the overall user experience and ensure smooth communication during online meetings and presentations.

Easy-to-use Interface and Excellent Performance: Users have described Mikogo as amazing, with an easy-to-use interface and excellent overall performance. The software's intuitive design allows both parties to easily navigate through support sessions, making it a preferred choice for many users.

  1. Lack of advanced notice and difficult cancellation process: Several users have expressed frustration over the lack of advanced notice for subscription renewals and the challenging process to cancel their membership with BYS. Users have mentioned that they were charged without prior notification and found it inconvenient that they had to provide 3 months' notice for cancellation. Some users also criticized the company for having a poor autorenewal policy, making it difficult for them to opt out.

  2. Limited control during calls and unclear interface: Some users have reported difficulties in controlling the screen during calls with Mikogo, as they can only do so by being on a separate call outside of the software. Additionally, users have mentioned that inviting others for screen sharing is not intuitive and found the overall interface to be awkward. This has made it challenging for them to get online with customers or provide remote technical support effectively.

  3. Inconveniences and technical issues: Many users have experienced various inconveniences while using Mikogo, including communication failures, problems running the program, and poor audio/video quality. Users have also struggled to find certain features such as keyboard and mouse sharing, leading them to believe that the setup process could be simplified. There were complaints about bugs, billing issues, difficulties in connecting to client computers, occasional lags, freezing screens, lack of audio support, and unreliable customer support.

Users often recommend downloading and using Mikogo as a sandbox to test the program with clients and friends. They find it to be an excellent software for video conferencing and screen sharing, making it a reliable option for trying out with different groups of people.

Another common recommendation is to consider technical proficiency and safety before deciding to install Mikogo. Users suggest taking these factors into account to ensure a smooth experience and secure usage of the software.

Users highly recommend Mikogo for its excellent technical support and unique features that improve conference quality. They appreciate the level of assistance provided by the support team and consider the additional features beneficial for enhancing the overall conference experience.

Overall, users suggest comparing Mikogo to other software like Webex for better intuitiveness. They also believe that Mikogo is great for improving productivity during meetings, especially for web conferencing and screen collaboration needs. However, they note that there may be limited options available for comparison.

In addition, users recommend using Mikogo for remote control of computers with an internet connection, without needing to install any additional software. They also find it useful for remote assistance with less tech-savvy individuals.

Lastly, users feel that it's worth trying Mikogo to see if it meets one's needs, even though they have the option of using Skype for better audio quality.

We used Mikogo to support customers by viewing and controlling their remote desktops. We used the drawing and chat features as well, which appeared to work well. This was used by both of our ERP consultants who worked daily with customers and often online and in session with the customer and sometimes an additional attendee.
  • Inexpensive
  • Simple interface
  • Menus and prompts were clear
  • Slow (download and screen refreshes)
  • Doesn't work at numerous customer sites
  • Awkward interface, making it difficult to get online with customers
Given its narrow focus and inability to do that well, I cannot think of a scenario where Mikogo would be a fit. This software only provides 'attended' remote sessions whereby the person presenting their screen must also approve the connection of the user attempting to view or control their screen. While this has its place, it did not perform well in this limited scope.

  • Zero positive impact
  • Spend just a little more with products like AnyDesk and get some real ROI
  • Short term, the product can be used on a trial basis (or at least it was available as a trial)
At first it worked fairly well and the price was very inexpensive. The first task when connecting to a customer was to have them download the client. Oftentimes this task took two to five minutes and was inconsistent even for clients with high-speed internet access (over 100mb). I've used numerous other tools similar to Mikogo and none of them had these delays. Also, Mikogo occasionally had issues with firewalls and, while that might be expected in such a tool, it was too often to be useful. Honestly the only advantage was price and that was short lived, as the costs of using the tool (business-wise) stacked up.

I need to support remote locations in my current organization, and many times, it's just best to be hands-on rather than provide instruction over the phone or through email. Many times I am troubleshooting issues where I need to be able to log into a user's PC and look at configurations on various files or programs, and Mikogo has helped me to be able to do with ease.
  • Allow remote access to a users PC's
  • Share my screen for visual assistance
  • I'd like to be able to record a session easier.
I've been using Mikogo for ten plus years and have been able to use it for remote program installation, troubleshooting, and simple presentations. Screen share or remote access to a PC is where the core of the program's best functionality resides and where a user would be best suited to use this product.

  • Saves time and money in travel expenses to support remote locations for IT purposes.
I see a lot of the same functionality with both programs. From a presentation and meeting aspect, they are virtually the same. Where Mikogo stands out, in my opinion, is when it comes to remote access.
I have not had to use their support for anything other than setup.

We don't use this tool very often because we have other tools that are very good at collaboration such as Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex. However, when those options are not available for whatever reasons then Mikogo is a great go-to. It always gets the job done. Very easy to use and get both sides to connect and start collaborating. Another great feature is you don't need to install anything which is a big plus for when collaborating with users from security strict organizations.
  • Collaboration audio/video - Very strong features. It simple and it just works as you expect. Especially multi-user collaboration capability.
  • File sharing - Again, nothing fancy but works as advertised.
  • Inexpensive- A single license allows for up to 25 participants and 3 concurrent calls. Even the free version is extremely capable and a good go-to option.
  • It lacks some features that could be useful for providing remote technical support but it is never meant to be a remote support tool, it is a collaboration tool.
  • Can't really find anything bad to say about this product. I was never in a scenario where I thought something is not working as expected or can't find a feature or can't figure out how to do something.
Mikogo is a collaboration tool first and foremost and it is great at that. You can get people connected really quickly and they don't need to be familiar with the product to get going quickly. That combined with the ability to create/join the session from the browser makes it very attractive. A great option to go to for when your company uses one collaboration tool that's not compatible with someone from another company. That and when your daily collaboration tool is down for whatever reason, then you just use Mikogo.

  • It is a very helpful backup tool for collaboration.
  • It doesn't have all the bells and whistles like Teams but its also much cheaper and much better performance than Skype.
its a smaller tool than Teams and Skype and definitely don't have as much features. It is a tool for smaller organizations not big enterprises.
I do not have any experience with Mikogo's support as I have never experienced any problem with it.

I own a small Accounting and Bookkeeping firm. Along with cloud-based accounting, I also do a considerable amount of customer support for small businesses. Mikogo is a great fit for me when I need to remote in or screen share to offer support to my clients. It offers great flexibility for my business to be professional and offer high tech options to my clients. One of my favorite (and also my clients) is that Mikogo does not require recipients (clients) to download the software and can work inside a browser window.
  • Participants do not need to download any software. Great feature. Keeps disks from getting cluttered up for participants.
  • Mikogo works on a mobile and a desktop platform. Participants can join from their smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop.
  • Simple straight-forward screen platform. Mikogo makes it easy for both myself and participants to join a presentation.
  • Cloud-based so works on any operating system.
  • Customer Support. Blog based and slow to respond
  • Free version is limited
Pros
Mikogo is well-suited and cost-effective for the small business
Simple & well-designed; easy to figure out.
Works best for one-on-one client support.
Cons
No live customer support
Free version has limited features (e.g. no invite meeting allowed)
Trial version only 14 days

  • Mikogo has made it easy for me to broaden my ability to support my clients, thus enhancing my value to customers
  • Mikogo opens the door for me to be a true online accounting firm, able to take on client no matter their location
  • The simplicity and ease of using the software doesn't scare away 'low tech-savvy' clients
Mikogo has simple features and is easy to use. If you don't need lots of bells and whistles and just want to screen share or video conference on a small scale Mikogo works best.
Join.me & TeamViewer are a bit confusing for the novice small business person.
My experience with LogMeIn has been that it's sluggish.
GoToMeeting works great but is pricey for the small firm that mainly does one-to-one support/training.
I couldn't get Zoom to work right.
