What is Mimecast Cloud Archive?

Mimecast Cloud Archive solution keeps multiple copies of every inbound, outbound and internal email, along with detailed meta-data and a copy of the email if it was changed by policy enforcement. Emails are encrypted for security and stored in multiple geographically-dispersed data centers with triplicate copies for redundancy.

Additionally, Mimecast Cloud Archive provides:

  • Search and retrieval of archived emails.
  • Access to personal cloud archive storage on any device, from any location.
  • Pricing based on the number of employees rather than the volume of email.
  • Policy-driven retention at the organization, group, mailbox or published retention folder level.
  • Archive access logging.
  • Compliance, e-discovery and litigation support, including legal hold, case management and data export.

For organizations in need of a migration tool to take advantage of the archive, Mimecast Simply Migrate is available. It extracts, validates, and transports legacy data from common archives like Veritas Enterprise Vault and Dell EMC SourceOne to the Mimecast Cloud Archive.

In today’s world of remote employees and the rise of collaboration technologies, Mimecast Cloud Archive now supports Archiving for Microsoft Teams. Ensure compliance, reduce risk, and establish policies to retain and expire Microsoft Teams data, including one to one, group, and channel. conversations.

Additionally, Mimecast Supervision, when integrated with Mimecast Cloud Archive, can help financial services firms meet FINRA, SEC, FCA and other compliance challenges, helping users to operationalize compliance across the organization, and enabling compliance personnel to systematically review and discover targeted data.

Mimecast's Sync & Recover is a fully integrated extension to the Mimecast Cloud Archive, that removes the need for standalone email backup and recovery tools and is 100% cloud-based. Users are not able to delete emails hence Mimecast EIA becomes a very useful tool during e-discovery. For EOA, they offer an inplace archive which means that emails can be deleted if the service is not turned on.

The product offering is comparable, while the price is significantly less expensive in contrast to those offered by rivals. Additionally, the solution offers simple indexing and recovery, and it is nicely integrated into a variety of different ecosystems. Connecting across different cloud ecosystems like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud is made much simpler by the availability of a wide variety of connectors and APIs, which make this task quite straightforward.

I was not involved in a decision-making process to purchase my podcast although I have used other tools in the past and my has the easiest interface to use And navigate. The learning curve is very short using this product. It’s a big benefit and plus that you were able to access it from a mobile device.

As opposed to its competitors, Mimecast Could Archive is a product designed IN the cloud. The other products were all basically traditional appliances hosted in the cloud and come with many limitations that Mimecast doesn't have.
The ease of management and use of Mimecast is above that of its competitors as it's intuitive and efficient.

Mimecast has been identified by Gartner as the top product in its magic quadrant. We found the product the easiest to implement with the best support and feature set. It has been very reliable and when we have had questions, feature requests or problems, the company has been quick to respond. They are constantly adding new features and it integrates well with Mimecast's malware and spam filtering applications.

  • Citrix ShareFile
One of the big features of Mimecast is the ability to send large files. We used to use CItrix Sharefile for this but switched over to Mimecast's LFS for one large reason...since we are archiving all of our mail in Mimeast anyway we would have wanted these attachments, even if large, also available to if we go back to look at old emails. However just for usability sake I think Citrix Sharefile's large file send is more polished and probably works a little better. We just choose to use the Mimecast so we had a one stop shop when it came to email archiving.
