UK company Mimecast offers the Enterprise Information Archiving platform for file archiving.https://dudodiprj2sv7.cloudfront.net/product-logos/Pa/Hq/51MSX7RTXS47.pngWhat a cloud service should be.Mimecast is used by the entire company and is our email gateway. We appreciate all the many features of Mimecast and the problems it solves. From security, to message archiving, search features, and support Mimecast does everything well. We started with message archive and secure messaging but have added other features, mostly related to security, since our initial subscription.,Message archiving is essential in healthcare and Mimecast makes it easy and at a reasonable cost. One of the features we appreciate most is the search function. Outlook can be pretty frustrating when it comes to searching for messages and Mimecast adds plenty of filtering and search capabilities that help find what Outlook can't. Targeted Threat Protection (TTP) is a great service that proxies URL's in email and adds an extra layer of protection against malicious attachments. The addition of TTP a couple years ago demonstrates Mimecast's continued development to meet modern threats. Online mailbox can be used for email continuity if your mail server is down. We don't have frequent downtime but it's good to know communications can keep flowing if we do. Support is always helpful and timely.,I have few comments recommending improvement but if I have to nitpick I'd say the admin console can be a bit confusing. I don't think it's so much their product, rather email is more complicated than most realize. My biggest gripe, and it's minor, is that we still can't get events logged in our time zone. I've been told that's coming but still haven't seen it. I'm pretty capable of subtracting 1 hour though so I'm not too worked up about it.,10,I can't put an exact dollar figure on it but Mimecast makes our company more efficient when it comes to email search and discovery. Being heavily regulated it's great to have peace of mind when we're audited and I can just say we have Mimecast. Check that box off! We were quite relieved when Mimecast stopped inbound attachments infected with WannaCry. I enjoy the benefits of a cloud service so I don't have to manage hardware, deal with upgrades, or figure out complicated licensing schemes.,Barracuda Email Security Service,Centrify Application Services, Microsoft Office 365, Lifesize Video ConferencingMimecast Email Archiving is the cream of the crop. It is a bit costly but you will not regret it!Mimecast has become an integral part of our organization. It solves 4 separate business problems and it does it very well. Our company is using it for all 4 of these situations: 1-It archives all of our email both incoming and outgoing. 2-It sterilizes our email for spam, viruses and other malicious content. 3-It allows our Outlook users, who have the Mimecast add-in installed, the ability to send and receive large file attachments. 4-It acts as a DR recovery for our mail solution. We host our on exchange server but if it goes down the users can login into Mimecast to continue sending and receiving email. We just used this feature when our power was out for 4 days after Hurricane Irma.,It archives every email into and out of your enterprise including mail between internal users. This provides a legally acceptable archive that we can access at any point to find emails whether we need just one from a year ago or a lot to enter into a court case. Since we have our MX record pointing to them first, they host all of our email in the cloud so users can access it even in the event our local email repository is down. We used this feature quite well during this past years Hurricane season. Mimecast has a feature that allows me to sandbox all links, in emails, before users are redirected to them. This has saved us several times in that users clicked on links they should not have but Mimecast intercepted the request and stopped the user from going to the site.,Although many people seem to love it, I think their search capability takes some getting used to. It works and you can find anything you need but it is not as clean as if searching in Outlook. When an incoming domain is on the Mimecast's blacklist the email is totally blocked and there is no notification of this so if a user tells me they are not getting email from somewhere I sometimes have to assume this is the issue and go the extra step and add that domain to a white list not knowing if it will really solve the issue. The Large File send options in outlook work fairly well but if one is sending a dozen files the receiver SHOULD get an option to download them all into one size but they do not. Instead they have to download each file individually. Some of their new client releases can cause issues so you must test the clients well and usually stick with a good one when you get one that works well in your environment.,9,One large positive impact is that it has removed the need to manage email archiving (think .pst files!). The .pst files were always becoming corrupt and they were hard to manage for both IT and the users. That is a thing of the past now that we have Mimecast. Having all the archived email in one place as has given us a positive ROI in that users can now spend less time searching for older email (through multiple .pst files) and can move on to more important issues at hand once they find what they need in Mimecast. Having Mimecast at our border, protecting us against malicious links and attachments, is an ongoing positive ROI in that it has surely saved us from at least one bad viral like situation. Finally Mimecast has given the company a positive emotional ROI in that users now feel comfortable with the archiving solution and are quite happy with the company for offering the Mimecast capability to them when it comes to finding archived information.,Citrix ShareFile,Sage 300 ERP, Citrix NetScaler Access Gateway, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Hyper-V, Windows Server Failover Clustering, Ascentis HR, Microsoft ExchangeEnterprise Archiving with MimecastWe use Mimecast Enterprise Information Archiving company wide. Ability to view an old email within the archive without having to download it. Great E-discovery capabilities as users do not have the ability to delete emails perpetually Easy to use and manage,On the archive, all emails are highlighted hence you will not know when you have an unread email that you might have accidentally deleted on outlook but was automatically archived in Mimecast,9,We save on time required to search through hundreds of emails Saves us on employee productivity by offering us business continuity when our mail service is unavailable,Exchange Online Archive,Microsoft Office 365

Given all the threats that are out there and the fact many come in via email, I think Mimecast is a great solution for any business of any size. If your business is heavily regulated then you have even more reason to use Mimecast. You might be able to do a lot of these things yourself but why would you? Mimecast employees are experts, the best in the industry, at knowing how email works and how to protect it.

Mimecast has become an integral part of our organization. It solves 4 separate business problems and it does it very well. Our company is using it for all 4 of these situations:

It is an enterprise product as such it is quite expensive and most suited for companies with at least 75 users and up. It would be great if you are hosting your own email environment but from what I understand the set is a bit hard if you try to use this with Office 365 or a hosted exchange situation. If you are in the business of needing email archives for a lot of legal situations, Mimecast can be your savior over and over again.

Mimecast Enterprise Information Archiving Review: "Enterprise Archiving with Mimecast"

We use Mimecast Enterprise Information Archiving company wide. It was an asset during our migration to Office 365 where we were able to easily recover all our old emails from the Mimecast Portal quickly and seamlessly. Mimecast's archive is designed in such a way that you can recover important emails only in case you don't find the emails on Exchange after the migration.
  • Quick email search capabilities.
  • Ability to view an old email within the archive without having to download it.
  • Great E-discovery capabilities as users do not have the ability to delete emails perpetually
  • Easy to use and manage
  • On the archive, all emails are highlighted hence you will not know when you have an unread email that you might have accidentally deleted on outlook but was automatically archived in Mimecast
Given that Mimecast offers a bottomless archive, their archiving solution is best suited for organizations struggling with storage space for their ever growing mailbox. With the new sync and recover capabilities, you can use Mimecast's EIA as a DR for your mail service in case you loose data on the mail server and you want to recover it quickly to any point in time.

Another great scenario is when moving to a cloud service such as Office 365. There is always fear of loosing data during this migration hence having Mimecast EIA would offer your company peace of mind that your data is safe.
