Mimecast Threat Intel is a great value added service.

You cannot go wrong with Mimecast. The yearly cost is minimal compared to the massive benefits it brings to email management.
- Because all incoming and outgoing (with journaling setup for internal email) go through Mimecast it is a one-stop-shop for searching out emails from past months or years. It is light years better than using local archives such as .pst files.
- Since they touch all incoming email Mimecast is excellent our filtering out spam, malware and virus emails before it even gets to your server whether on-premise or in the cloud.
- The system is so good I could only think of two flaws and that is after using it for 4 years. The first being that although they have a great web-based management utility the pages themselves render/work slowly such that it sometimes takes a bit of time to click around.
- Mimecast offers an Outlook plugin or web-based method to search through old archived emails. Both are significantly slower than if you had them in a local file of some kind. It's the negative side of going to the cloud for this process but does cause some users to complain.
- The addition of Mimecast to our arsenal lessens the burden on internal IT resources to help users manage their own spam white lists, archive searches, and user education when it comes to nefarious emails.
- Having Mimecast's capabilities allows us to gain lower insurance premiums where it pertains to IT Security and continuity polices.
