The organization began using the product when it still using a DOS environment, we have migrated through many, many, upgrades and changes. The product continues to meet the needs of Financial reporting, Human Resource reporting, Payroll reporting, Fundraising and Donor report for the agency. We have no thoughts of considering any changes at this time.

Abila had been adopted from before I had started working for the company. It had replaced a very basic software suite that had been in use previously. We'd used the same version for years, but eventually the version's age necessitated it being upgraded. We did have the option of switching products, something I wanted to look at more in depth in hindsight, but we decided for overall ease of implementation, we would purchase the newer version licenses.

The software was in place prior to my employment at the agency. I am sure it was chosen based on price as well as the features. No additional modules were purchased other than general ledger, accounts payable and budget journal. It would be advantageous to have the fixed asset module to track the fixed assets.

The feature of a relational data base was a huge selling point. It took the previous account codes down from about 250 to 50.

We knew our government reporting and accounting requirements were going to become more complex. We needed to integrate our reporting requirements with our government funder. MIP performed the highest in our inquiry from the Single Auditors we used, the State Contracting Reps and other similiar companies that we reached out to who were using MIP

Our previous solution wasn't giving us the flexibility we were looking for. It was not a user-friendly environment which meant that the fiscal staff were the only ones able to effectively use the solution. Abila changed that paradigm; we now have mid-level staff who are able to access the report module which frees up time for the fiscal staff.

MIP Fund Accounting™ exclusively serves the financial management and fund accounting needs for thousands of nonprofits and government agencies.
