In my experience the chief problem it addresses and the reason for continued use is it is an accounting system designed directly for non-profits.,Managing employees is a breeze. Payroll and direct deposit is very easy to implement using MIP. Plenty of canned reports and the option to build custom reports.,MIP was originally designed as various modules. Even with the current unified UI, it still feels like you are navigating between modules. Their sales team can be frustrating to work with, it seems the resources they have to give to potential customers are limited.,7,We currently have almost 150 funding sources and put zero thought into managing that data, using MIP is that straight forward.,Atlassian Confluence, JIRA Service Desk, Lansweeper,Online training Self-taught,4,Common sense, reviewing Abila resources, and a test environment has produced better results in our experience than training. The only value added we've seen from training was a high-level overview when adding modules, which can be achieved during the sales process.,Transitioning to paperless payroll and direct deposit was very intuitive using this system and the Abila documentation. Forms Designer is a straight forward module with real value. The built-in report designer is an amazing tool once you get past the learning curve.,Inventory management and depreciation seems to take more effort than necessary for such basic tasks. We utilize most of the functions offered with the software and find that they are user friendly. MIP Fund Accounting is easy for even our newest employees to understand. This software is a huge assist to our company. When an issue arises we contact MIP support and have an answer in a short amount of time. The staff is very friendly and professional.,Allowing reports to be exported into a PDF or Excel worksheet is very beneficial when presenting to our board. Emailing a report to a funding source without having to print it out and scan is very smooth and helps when you are in a hurry. The ability to filter for the exact item(s) that you need help when auditors need verification of those exact details. This is valuable for helping our department locate those areas that need explanation as well.,It would be helpful to locate an item when we are given a check number rather than the name on the check. When we process our payroll we have to manually remove extra coding so that our salaries are not all over the general ledger. It would be nice if there were a better way for this function to be eliminated. It would be great if the process for using Atrix was smoother. We have issues almost every year for one reason or another.,10,MIP helps us produce information quickly.,We have approximately 25 funds that we utilize with MIP. We receive revenue from over 9 different funding sources. We are able to keep each fund separate by year and source. MIP helps us track multiple funds by numbering each fund by year. This process allows us to close out a certain year and start a new one seamlessly.,,Upsafe Free Office 365 Cloud Backup, Adobe Acrobat DC,10,MIP is used primarily by the accounting department to assist in preparing monthly reports, payroll, and accounts payable. MIP is essential in helping us with our daily activities, monthly and quarterly reports, and annual audit. We use MIP to process our 1099's and W-2's every year making this process quicker and easier, considering we process over 240 W-2's and around a thousand 1099's. The only drawback in the past has been the communication of MIP with Aatrix when uploading our files. We have worked through those situations with the help of MIP support, but in a couple of those years, we had to start over. We have the HR module and use it for our employees; however, we were not able to use the EWS module because it lacked functionality that we needed for our employees.,We use MIP to help with our profit sharing reporting. We have found ways to put most of the information into one report and email to our administrator. We have found ways to track missing TIN's by printing out reports and then exporting into Word to print out letters in the mail merger.,Would love to use MIP for employees timekeeping, if some of the needed functions were added in the future we might consider switching to EWS. A secondary clinical department also uses the product with the assistance of Accounting. With the implementation of Executive View, it will be rolled out to our executive directors and program managers. The program managers will be able to view their monthly financial statements. The business problems that are addressed by accounting seem obvious. Implementing it with a separate database has allowed us to better track the use of client funds for which we are rep payees. This department was maintaining the books manually. They are now able to check balances with a simple report. Executive View will provide a much more timely presentation of financial statements. These statements had been running about 1 to two months behind.,Reporting. I can obtain 99% of the reports I need with the reporting. It is easy to use and very flexible. Other systems require a complex reporting module that is geared towards a technical person with database experience. Technical support. This is the first company I have worked with that has a technical support department that truly understands accounting. If I were to call to discuss an allocation, they understand what I mean. The technical support department is very prompt. Interface with other products. Easily able to import/export transactions. It simplifies day to day transactions that can be entered into an Excel spreadsheet and imported into the product. We also use it to export transactions for further analysis.,Reporting. While I love the reporting module, I would like to have access to all the tables. While this could be accessed through SQL, I am not a SQL expert. I realize this may create a more complex reporting module, but it would be worthwhile. Budget. Need an easier way to enter budget or import budget. Would prefer to import into the budget module directly because I prefer the module over the piece contained in the General Ledger. Requisitions module. Would like more robust requisitions module that I could roll out to the users. Online Training

Very little organization to the training received by official Abila training partners. Informal structure and scheduling, no outlines or agendas, more focused on getting hours counted towards invoice and band-aiding issues instead of teaching customers how to use the system properly.

Online Training

Denise O'Malley provided training for the HR module when we added it to our system. Denise also gave us a demo of the EWS module which we were able to see that it would not meet our needs. She was very kind about and understanding regarding the functions we needed with a time clock system.
