The biggest part would be how can the software functions provide the necessary need for our organization to use. Previous person in position didn't have full experience and we realized how our organization will need more time invested in MIP to have it fully function to best support our needs.

I was not part of selecting MIP to use as the main accounting system for my organization. However, I do not see the company using a different accounting system any time soon. MIP is does a great job supporting our company's accounting, financial reporting and payroll needs.
The benefit of being able to process payroll and accounts payable in house it is great because it gives us more control for accuracy and to have our employees paid on time.

In my opinion, we are comfortable with the way the evaluation and selection process was carried out. We have benefitted from the various versions over the years and we are specifically pleased the introduction of the cloud based version.

I cannot imagine going through that process again. When you have used a product for so long, the history within is hard to replicate. Just the fact that the company has stayed with it through all the changes over the years is a testimony to the product itself.

I would likely test several other available products and compare usability and reporting capabilities to my experience with MIP Products. I would be interested only in a full service product which would include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliation, Financial Reporting, Electronic Transfer, Direct Deposit, all Payroll functions, Time and Attendance, Human Resources, and Fundraising and Donor reporting.

If I had to do it again, I would've paid much more attention at fleshing out what functionality we would like to get out of the new software system, rather than how well it integrated to the current system. Admittedly we were happy that our upgrade went smoothly, conversely I don't think we improved our use of the software as perhaps we could've. As a smaller organization, we were sensitive to these kind of costs to consider.
