In my previous org, we used Mode as our cloud SQL editor tool for quick analysis which would be usually used by analytics folks who were SQL savvy.
  • data exploration
  • great visuals
  • easy to use
  • Being able to connect to static data sources (google sheets)
Great for quick analysis and easy to set up and get going. I would not use it as an enterprise BI tool as it has quite a few limitations. Especially when it comes to massive data sets and being able to connect to various data sources.

Mode is a great BI tool for creating reports to pull, analyze, and visualize data. It was very helpful in identifying sore spots in our operations and pointing out where action needed to be taken. It is a reliable tool that is fast, user-friendly, and easily accessible by those who are less tech-forward as well.
  • Stability
  • Ease of Use
  • Ease of sharing reports
  • More color schemes
  • More training videos
  • Lower cost!
Mode is well suited for creating reports that need to be viewed with relative frequency or reports that are difficult to run manually. I believe it has a place in any organization that needs to analyze/visualize/democratize data across stakeholders due to its accessibility and overall ease of use/navigation.

  • Identified operational shortfalls
  • Allows stakeholders to take action individually
  • Visual representations of how long each process takes helps improve turnaround
I've used other BI tools such as Spotfire and Mode is by far the better solution. It is far more stable, less susceptible to errors/needs to reload/re-format reports, and overall more user-friendly. Spotfire might have some deeper functionality for absolute power users, but for the majority of folks who need to understand data flows/processing times, Mode is the superior software.

We use Mode's white label embed feature, to power in-app reporting for our customers -- even going so far as doing rapid prototyping for them. We also use Mode Analytics to centralize, protect, and ease our team's access to data sources.
  • Easy to use (click a button and get right to SQL).
  • Security First (everything is locked down by default).
  • The White Label feature is super easy to skin -- our embedded reports look just like our app!
  • My only gripe is account management. The AM team turns over often, and every renewal is a fight, starting with a 40% price hike and ultimately getting whittled down to something reasonable.
Mode Analytics is great for white label embedding (on one hand, the feature hasn't been improved much since we signed up; on the other -- it hasn't needed to improve) -- our reports look excellent. Mode Analytics is also great for a security-first analytics console. Click a button and get right to powerful SQL and Python tooling with your data.
  • White-label embed.

  • Extremely positive. It's a key feature in our application.
  • Were it not for the account management bit, Mode would be hands-down our recommendation for anyone looking for cloud BI.
Mode Analytics is better for us than most -- because of its white-label feature, its security-first posture, and the fact that you can go directly to SQL.

I use Mode Analytics to set up custom dashboards for monitoring key business metrics, from customer sentiments and escalation statistics, to detailed app engagement data. The scope is typically limited to the web and in-app help/support sections of the experience. It's particularly helpful for monitoring project impact after deploying significant changes to the product.
  • Customizable dashboards
  • Versital metrics and dynamic inputs
  • Intuitive interface
  • Exportation of results
  • Date ranges aren't always the most intuitive to set, strangely
  • Faster refresh rates would be ideal
  • Would love more dynamic mobile device integration (alerts, etc)
After launching a new contact pathway in a help experience, Mode Analytics can help provide insight into the sentiments from users as well as the engagement with any written content. Numeric outputs are easier to manage, whereas more nuanced/emotional feedback is sometimes hard to quantify (though not impossible if you get creative).
  • Customizable dashboards
  • Dynamic inputs
  • Wide range of visualization options

  • Empowered me to make data based decisions
  • Made data collection more fast, efficient, and useful
  • Identified when new features need tweaks or course corrections
In my opinion Mode Analytics has an edge on much of the competition due to the intuitive and powerful custom dashboard creation interface. I can create dashboards for stakeholders that are self explanatory and easy to make conclusions from. In other respects, it's very much at pace with similar tools and services.

Mode Analytics is our main source of querying from our databases. We can pull data using PrestoSQL (Trino), visualize different metrics for trends, create quick dashboards for stakeholders, and even incorporate more sophisticated R or Python logic via their built-in notebook tool.
  • Multi-platform integration
  • Customer support
  • Clean UI for great UX
  • Scope of visualizations available
  • Advance dashboarding customizations
  • Drill-downs
Mode is great for speed and presentation. If you have a business idea, want to see a data prototype to validate your hunch, and need something to easily pull a few lines of SQL code and build a dashboard, Mode is a perfect solution. It's also a tool that allows for easy dashboard sharing. It does not have some of the nuances offered by Tableau but wins out in simplicity/intuitiveness. If you're looking for high-level modeling/forecasting, however, Mode comes up a bit short. Anything requiring a lot of processing power should be moved to a dedicated notebook/programming environment.

Mode [Analytics] has a shorter learning curve and is better for starter analysts who are not yet Python fluent. They also require very little setup for report viewers to consume data, making it a more optimal solution for team members on the ground.
Mode has dedicated agents who are online in a chatroom, ready to take on any questions and provide helpful feedback.

A few times, actually! Once I had some questions on how to implement a certain feature for my analysis. Mode's support team went above and beyond to listen to my question, find sample queries/reports from their onboarding guides that best reflect my use case, and provided additional stackoverflow etc. solutions to aid my understanding. Another time, I ran into a visualization issue where I needed a viz not in their template. The support agent was patient in explaining that what I wanted was a frequently requested feature, and the team would prioritize it as a product request. She also gave me tips on how to potentially create something similar using other Libraries beyond Mode. I was impressed by their dedication to customers and their level of knowledge about their product.
