I would recommend MovableInk.

Pros

  • Personalization within email via merge fields from your ESP.
  • Targeting based on contextual and behavioral rules that are built into the platform, as well as the ability to utilize your own data for targeting purposes.
  • The creative process is as simple or complex as you decide to make it and results can be achieved quickly.

Cons

  • Account management and technical support is lacking. Account managers often are not privy to technical information or knowledge that can often be required for custom solutions.
  • New feature rollouts are not always well communicated.

Return on Investment

  • Positive as mentioned previously - it has increased engagement in emails which has led to more business.
  • Negative would definitely be that some solutions can take too long to develop without any ROI in the process.

Movable Ink--Generate Content Users Want

Pros

  • Personalization--Everyone likes to see their name in lights. Movable Ink allows you to pull in content such as their name, locations that are closest to them, and content they're actually interested in.
  • Unique Features--Movable Ink provides a variety of apps that can plugged into emails to make the experience more unique and exciting, such as countdown timers, add to calendar features for events, maps, and social feeds.
  • Tracking--Adding snippets of code to emails allow you to track data, such as opens, impressions, and clickthroughs. You can also track how individuals interact with specific pieces of the email.
  • User Friendly--Easy to build within apps for those who aren't graphic designers.

Cons

  • Organization--Once you start a campaign, that's the location the campaign lives in. You can't move or migrate. The only way to "move" the campaign is to create a new one in the correct location.
  • Communication--We use Movable Ink in a more complex way than their average client. Getting the information we need is sometimes an exercise in frustration because our contact needs to get with the developers and then back to us. Sometimes things get lost in translation. Answers also aren't always timely.

Return on Investment

  • Email performance has greatly increased overall
  • Optimization and testing features allow us to pit directions against one another and determine the best course of action going forward

Movable Ink Review from a Seasoned User at Multiple Brands

Pros

  • Clean and easy to use, user interface and short ramp up time required to implement within email service providers
  • Email use cases are helpful to take personalization in email to the next level, they can help a brands emails stand out vs. competitors in some scenarios.
  • The platform is flexible to work with various ESPs; I've personally used Movable Ink with 3 platforms and have seen no issues.

Cons

  • I think they could improve with how to provide strategic guidance to customers on applications and use cases. A lot of recommendations aren't applicable to new business models/scenarios
  • Their transition to onsite/landing page use cases was somewhat effective but we ran into some hiccups with applying the technology onsite

Return on Investment

  • Over a 9 month period we conducted an analysis and saw a 4.6 return on ad spend with using Movable Ink in various email marketing campaigns.
  • Using their web crop feature, we also saw time savings with managing products showcased in email that were available on our website.
