Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why
Simple: MS Sharepoint/SQL is the best and robust databases motor now are incorporating some features in order to improve users and DB admins experience.

Makes life easier
The user interface and search elements are much better than our outgoing data storage method.

SharePoint for your organization
- Box and Microsoft Exchange
Box is a content storing portal where you can host and share documents/files to others. But it does not have [Sharepoint's] capabilities like... versions, automation, email approvals, etc. And Microsoft Exchange is a mailing database that can be used for exchanging data using emails, but SharePoint does much more than that in terms of single central level storing and sharing of data.

Power MS SQL user for the past 12 years
- MySQL and Oracle Database
Has better support than MySQL and more developers are familiar with it. Oracle syntax is more cumbersome and less developers are experienced these days with Oracle.
I have heard that the one that comes close is a tool called Apex. Some of the leading companies are using it instead of SQL.
If you are looking for a document management and collaboration tool to use as a web portal that comes with SQL data base and easy to manage and something you can learn very quick, look no further than SharePoint but if you need a pure database then this is not for you.

SharePoint/SQL - Great for teams and collaboration.
When I was implementing the company's Intranet, SharePoint was the clear winner - it was free, Microsoft-made product and in testing it did exactly what we wanted it to.
When it gets to selecting your database back-end, admins can be limited by what the product being implemented supports, however, in our case we evaluated few products and SQL Standard came in firsts, hands down. Its functionality is great, cost is good too and it is widely used, so it is easy to find a specialist in case of issues.

MS SharePoint / SQL is easy to set up, with a robust feature set
- PostgreSQL and DB2
We use MS SQL more just because of how widely it's used and how popular it is. It's easier to install, maintain, and support compared to the other ones we've tried.

MS Sharepoint is the one collaboration tool you need.
At the time of the two large projects, SharePoint was the enterprise solution so we were required to use that. We have since lobbied the enterprise teams to review and consider Atlassian Confluence and were successful. Confluence is cheaper than Sharepoint which is why we wanted to bring that in. The enterprise has now made Confluence an enterprise solution as an alternative to SharePoint. After using both I think SharePoint has many more add-ins than Confluence. It has much more customization ability than Confluence. SharePoint is not good for mobile readiness. Confluence is so there is a difference that might lead you to Confluence over SharePoint. I would also say that SharePoint is very document-centric and that Confluence has better KM than SharePoint does. even with the use of SQL Server. We were told that we could not use Google Drive even though it had features we liked.

MS SharePoint / SQL - an on-premise option for SMBs
At its core, MS SharePoint (with SQL) is for managing document-based content. It falls just short of being a best in class records manager (it does offer some features for this though), and it isn't the easiest to solution to make great looking modern and engaging web sites. It sits somewhere in between and can do a little bit of both out of the box, and do a lot more with some development effort. Other solutions cannot do both and do not even come close to the breadth of possibilities. Think of the MS SharePoint / SQL as a Swiss army knife of solutions. It can do a lot of things reasonably well, but if you need a really special blade for a special job, you probably should get that blade for that job. If you want an all around platform that has lots of different blades (some more helpful than others), then look at MS SharePoint / SQL.

SharePoint\SQL is a great for any organization to utilize
We looked at Google Drive but it didn't have the API and integration that SharePoint has with 3rd party software providers. Also, Google Drive has basic functionality compared to MS SharePoint and how you can customize and build-out.

Very convenient document management system.
Google Drive is not yet up to the corporate requirement.

SharePoint just works
I haven't used any other products that compete with it. I started my career at Microsoft and the two subsequent locations have also been Microsoft shops.

Organize your documents
Dropbox is a user-friendly product, but Sharepoint is a native Microsoft product that can be implemented into any Microsoft products, which are used mostly in our environment. Finding solutions on the internet is much easier, as it is used commonly by other organizations as well. This is the most powerful use of the SharePoint (being available on any platform).

MS SharePoint/SQL Review
I am not familiar with any other products similar to SharePoint, so I am unable to compare.

Developer Tenancy is free for one year!
Mostly, we are a Microsoft shop, and SharePoint and SQL integrate with our other applications. They're easy to use, and not too hard to manage.

Good for central location storage
I have used both Google Drive and Zoho Docs which seem similar to MS SharePoint. The main differences I noticed as a user is that the user interfaces in both Google Drive and Zoho Docs were much more intuitive and they were much easier to navigate than MS SharePoint. There are a lot more things that you can do with MS SharePoint, but for a smaller company, it may not be worth the investment.

SharePoint Service Desk solution
- Lansweeper and BMC Remedy
We had staff resources able to create, configure, and mange our sharepoint environment, so it made sense for us and gave us greater flexibility than these turnkey solutions. Certainly each solution has its merits and each are completely different price points. We already had existing sharepoint and sql licensing so by building our solution we had increase roi on these prior purchase.

SharePoint through a IT support view
Most of the applications used within our company have a SharePoint back end therefore I have not used anything other than SharePoint.
We evaluated Atlassian Confluence and compared it to our current SharePoint implementation. We felt that the two products were quite similar in the user experience but we chose to keep our SharePoint farms up and running. This was mainly due to the cost of switching and the fact that they are both similar in feel and use. Confluence did some cool things but not enough to tip the scales.

Perfect Data Integration Tool
- Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP)
MS SharePoint integrates excellently with all the MS Office products, making it the default choice for any organization using MS Office. Comparatively, it's easier to build a portal on SharePoint than on Liferay for our requirements.

Great Collaboration Tool
December 17, 2018
Hard to setup, but if done right you are golden.
We have evaluated Google for Work, but since we are under contract with Microsoft, SharePoint integrates better with Microsoft services like email (Exchange), storage (OneDrive for business), Microsoft Project... It made more sense to proceed with SharePoint than getting completely separate system and on the other side you have to think about compliance because Microsoft have been in this game for much longer than any other company.
