NAKIVO Backup & Replication has proven to be a cost-efficient backup solution for VMware systems, offering a range of use cases that cater to different customer needs. Users have found it particularly suitable for migrations and data protection at multiple customer sites. The proprietary change tracking method in NAKIVO has helped save costs by minimizing storage and time required for backups. This has made it an effective tool for replicating virtual servers between different storage area networks, or SANs, in data centers and backing up data across office locations. Additionally, users have leveraged NAKIVO to back up both Windows and Linux virtual machines, including those in sandbox environments.

The software has been praised for its easy installation process, user-friendly interface, and compatibility with different hypervisors. Its immutability feature offers assurance that backups are safe from ransomware encryption, making it a reliable choice for protecting sensitive data and services in healthcare organizations. NAKIVO Backup & Replication also stands out as a dependable option for disaster recovery, providing features for site recovery and orchestration. With its optimization of storage usage through deduplication and compression, users can reduce costs while maintaining data integrity. Inefficient Backup Wizard: Some users have suggested streamlining the backup wizard feature to make it more efficient and user-friendly. They also requested customizable subject options for email notifications and the ability to view detailed information such as recovery points and backup types for each object in the repository.

Our customer has a small infrastructure, so we could make good use of the "one-shot" Nakivo license. Our customer does not need to pay a fee every year (although you are requested to pay a subscription in order to have updates and support, that is only fair) and we could grant them a top-notch product.

The pricing was a little confusing, but the sales rep was there, and he explained everything in detail. He also was trying to sell me a product that suits my needs and was not the most expensive.

The pricing for VM backups is good value for money as it does not limit how many VM's per socket. This works well for smaller sites with simple backup requirements. Physical machine backup pricing would more attractive with a sliding scale based on the number of physical machines.

Of course, you always think that something could be a bit cheaper. But NAKIVO Backup & Replication delivers real value for its price and value that lasts. We greatly appreciate that you are still able to actually BUY the software instead of being forced into subscription services. After all, it is OUR data and it should remain that.

The licensing is complex and not easy to understand at first. As you can use very small installations with one socket up to hundreds that can not be easily explained of course. This is the only thing I would like changed on NAKIVO's end.
