We use Nakivo mainly for our Vmware infrastructure (1 host - around 15 VMs). We also use Nakivo for some physical machines we have (Win 11 and Win server 2019). Everything is managed on the same dashboard and it's very easy to deploy the agent from the dashboard to new machines (virtual and physical).

Based on our experience using the tool, it has covered all our needs with respect to our systems and daily backup scheduling which ensures that we can respond in a timely manner in the event of an emergency. Nakivo's system is very reliable and user friendly and facilitates the processes of implementing and securing the systems that the company keeps in operation.

I don't think there is a scenario in which NAKIVO is less appropriate as a B&R software than even more emblazoned and famous ones. Maybe it just needs to improve in marketing because certainly as software it is very good. Customer support is definitely one of the reasons to choose it.

I have only tested it on small or medium clients and with disk storage pools. I can't say how it would work with tape robots or virtual libraries. It's an excellent solution to backup and restore VMs. The speed of the backups is very impressive, even sending them offsite. It can do everything you need including bare metal recovery to different hardware, which is great. In my scenario I wanted onsite backups to a nas, which also copied to a portable hard drive, and I also wanted offsite backups to an external repository. Once setup, I just let it run and check the email alerts to see if anything failed. I have a simple infrastructure, but it works well.

Where NAKIVO Backup & Replication Shines is on Daily backup schedule with copying to different locations. If you want to implement a 3-2-1-1 backup strategy plan (Local - Copy to DR - Copy to Tape - Copy to Cloud). It is also strong on failover scenarios (Main site to DR Site) Now it could have a better backup planning schedule, more flexible like option to run this backup every 7 minutes and also the ability to keep specific date backups. Also the alerting is far behind other vendors
