Nasuni has proven to be a valuable solution for users looking to address aging file storage infrastructure and manage rapidly growing unstructured file data. According to users, Nasuni's virtual file servers behave like a smart swarm of servers, providing access to the entire dataset from the encrypted cloud backend. This has allowed users to completely solve their file storage challenges. The platform also enables easy collaboration between locations, with new or changed content appearing in just 3-30 seconds. This feature has been particularly beneficial for cross-office and cross-company collaboration, as multiple locations can virtually share the same set of files.

In addition, Nasuni has helped users minimize physical capacity planning and decommission traditional file backup strategies. By eliminating the need for tapes or additional cloud storage capabilities, users have experienced improved efficiency and cost savings. Nasuni's ability to store and analyze large data sets for machine learning algorithms has also been a notable use case for some customers. Furthermore, the platform offers robust disaster recovery capabilities, allowing users to quickly recover critical company files in case of any unforeseen events.

Another key benefit highlighted by users is Nasuni's ability to improve access to files in remote offices, solving previous access issues. This has facilitated global expansion by enabling access to creative workflows internationally. Users have also appreciated the platform's monitoring and tracking features, which allow them to monitor IP traffic entering and leaving the drive, report on types of files by location, and monitor traffic accessing those files.

Overall, Nasuni has demonstrated its value through its various use cases, ranging from solving aging file storage infrastructure challenges to enabling efficient collaboration, minimizing physical capacity planning, improving access to remote files, and providing disaster recovery capabilities.

Efficient File Consolidation: Several users have found Nasuni to be an excellent solution for consolidating their aging file infrastructure. They have been able to access files quickly, back them up in the cloud, and benefit from unlimited versioning.

Seamless Collaboration: Users appreciate that Nasuni is a cloud hybrid global filesystem that supports collaboration among people in the office, across branches, and even mobile workers. Many reviewers mention being able to collaborate on an unlimited amount of files, regardless of size.

Robust Data Protection: Reviewers highlight Nasuni's effective content protection capabilities. They feel confident that their data is safeguarded from loss or encryption and can be quickly restored in case of accidental deletion or on-site disasters.

Difficult file auditing logs: Some users have found the file auditing logs in Nasuni difficult to search through, which can make it challenging to track and analyze changes made to files over time.

High initial capital outlay: Reviewers have mentioned that the initial capital outlay for Nasuni might be high for some users. This could potentially limit the accessibility of the platform for certain organizations or individuals with budget constraints.

Lack of real-time replication technology: Several users have pointed out that Nasuni does not offer real-time replication technology, resulting in a potential delay in file synchronization. This limitation may impact users who require immediate access to up-to-date data across multiple locations.

We use this for the whole company. It is an incredible application for data storage and recovery.

It really helps in terms of stability and speed. We offload the majority of our data to the cloud and have a cache of local storage. Nasuni's algorithm determines the most accessed files and pulls those into the cache. Even from the cloud though, most users don't notice much latency.

We create snapshots every 5ish minutes, which makes recovery very quick.
  • Support is amazing.
  • Interface is user friendly and straightforward.
  • Depending on how much cache you're willing to allocate, it's a super slick solution.
  • Better analytics when issues arise.
  • Better onboarding documentation.
  • Real-time monitoring.
Well suited if you have a lot of data that doesn't need to be stored and read right away. I think even if you don't have much data, you can still use it for it's intended purpose to great effect, but think of it as the more data you have, the even better it will work.

I don't think it would be particularly useful if you already have a slick file restore system in place and you don't need to store your data elsewhere with redundancy.

  • User satisfaction.
  • Satisfaction from the leadership.
  • Huge amount of time saved when restoring files.
I am not sure if we looked into any other cloud storage applications or software. But I do highly recommend Nasuni. If you have feedback, they actually listen. We even got to meet with the founder and he listened to a lot of our feedback. Whether or not they will implement and suggestions, having that listening ear is refreshing.
Again, it may have a little to do with the size and speed of your own environment, but we've been nothing but pleased with the speed of access of the files - even pulling old files from the cloud storage. Recovery of huge and many data files is a bit slow if you don't have the specs of the filer up to snuff.
As I mentioned, the user interface is amazing and straight forward. It's very easy to learn how to configure and restore files. I would like a bit more reporting, especially in terms of live reporting and monitoring. The support is great when you have a question on how to do something, which helps with usability.
