New Relic's comprehensive performance metrics enable our DevOps team to measure the impact of code changes accurately. Whether it's a new feature rollout or a system optimization, we can assess the impact on performance in real-time. This data-driven approach has empowered our DevOps teams to make informed decisions, ensuring that each change contributes positively to system performance and user experience.

We have been able to identify some issues on our site and improve overall performance using New Relic tools. As mentioned before, this is a tool designed only for DevOps teams - anyone that isn't a developer would be confused by the UI and likely wouldn't be able to use the platform without guidance.

There is no difference between the Sysadmin, DevOps and Developers panels.
Everything is integrated so that all engineering teams work with the same data and visualizations.
In complex container and Kubernetes environments it is important to have visibility of auto-scaling.

New Relic's deployment tracking, and the ability to compare performance before and after a deployment and track trends in error levels and performance changes by deployment, makes it quick and easy to see if a deployment is causing errors or performance issues and should be rolled back, or to see if a deployment has resolved an issue. This allows our team to make urgent deployments at short notice with confidence.

New Relic can help individual teams by providing them with their own dashboards, checks, insights and alerting for the applications they manage, as well as aligning them with the rest of the organisation.

We have other monitoring tools but we use New Relic to diagnose what the issue are for a complicated multi-tier website that depends on other services. Sometime the problem is not in our code or hosting environment but a third-party service is having issues that is causing our app to suffer. With New Relic we can see quickly where the issue is.

We haven't had a huge change in how devops use NR - but it is another useful tool and will hopefully continue to be useful going forward as it becomes our single source of truth

I can not say that New Relic helps DevOps teams at every step of the development process, but once the application is ready to be deployed, the usage and other metrics help in understanding the reliability of the application, and once completed deployed, it helps in maintaining and improving the availability of the application with the help of the alerting feature.

helps us in order to gain a lot with stablilizing the improvements by monitoring performance of the applications continously. From developers perspective thry are also enjoying the interaction with tools as to see the logs is getting more easier and also when we are talking about the platform stabilisation new relic can gives us suggestions in terms of Database queries optimisations, index creations, large queries to breakdown the query so the query can not spike up the database, hot collections in DB. theres and additional section from where we can analyse our errors and common vulnerabilities and the solution to them truely and time saver

DevOps/SRE team has definitely benefited from New Relics monitoring and alerting capabilities. Integrating with tools like Pager Duty, Slack, and Email, we have severity policies setup and alerts configured in New Relic for all of our applications and services. New Relic dashboards, alerting, and instrumentation setup is part of our runbook for any new service created.

Also the addition of synthetics adds valuable alerting that can be scripted out.

New Relic has helped our organization improve deployment cycle times, providing performance monitoring that allows us to measure any impacts (negative or positive) as a result of new code releases. This gives us greater confidence in deployments and allowed us to reduce time between deployment cycles.

Our organization has significantly benefitted from our DevOps integration with New Relic. New Relic gives us the confidence that we have had a successful deployment. Our development pipelines automatically add a deployment marker into New Relic to allow us to draw a line in the sand before and after the release. We also have tight integration with PagerDuty to be alerted to any issues immediately. Detailed SLA reports within New Relic provide valuable insight into weekly performance and Apdex scores. Our development cycles have been accelerated as we can deploy safely with the knowledge that we have a high-performing and stable product thanks to the use of New Relic in our staging environments.

It helps a lot with improving stability by monitoring performance. Passing to the development team the information we can collect, for example, from Transactions (where you can get the time specific php function takes, or how many child calls has a specific part of the code, or in general, how a execution of a entire script behaves) or from Databases (where you can verify which SQL queries are taking too long because they are not indexed or are not optimized), it helps to them to improve how the code is built and make it less expensive in terms of processing, memory consumption, or network data transfer. The Errors section also helps to identify where the application is raising exceptions, or simply generating warnings or deprecations that can be fixed to ensure a clean and updated code.

Yes, our DevOps team is able to track the health and the performance of our systems and services accurately without too much effort. In fact, with the usage of New Relic we have been able to move the work of system operations to the development team. We are truly on the path of Shift-left.

New Relic is such a great tool that comes with a lot of pre-defined tools which a user can directly select and use as per their requirements. Also, it provides the ability for users to create their own filters, set up dashboards, and also set up alerts. All of this can be done from the UI without many issues. New Relic also provides a lot of API options.

New Relic has features to monitor and mark deployments, NRQL to get fine-grained metrics and reports, Jenkins plugin, APIs to create alerts, and many more. These have benefited DevOps to automate onboarding of new applications and monitor the CI/CD effectively as well.

The smooth integration between New Relic and the IT Service management tools has helped to establish proactiveness in the system and reduce the MTTR for any issue. Different notification option has also helped to track an issue and create alerts of any type, ranging from email to pager duty or any internal website.
