Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Our applications leverage Vonage Communications APIs [(formerly Nexmo)] to send SMS reminder messages for appointments. Subscribing clients have the opportunity to activate the additional SMS reminder feature in their accounts. Once activated, an account administrator can customize the message template based on their specific business needs. With each new appointment, a reminder is queued and, at the client's desired reminder window, sent through Vonage to any customer that has opted into the service. The integration between our application and Vonage includes the provisioning of phone numbers and sending thousands of messages to remind customers of upcoming appointments, reduce no-show rates and encourage the customer relationship.
  • High levels of technical and account support for our business
  • Low latency and high deliverability rates
  • Easy-to-use tools to investigate reports of message delivery
  • Personal support helps us feel heard when a problem arises
  • Improve reporting options to slice-and-dice data in different ways, specifically by sending phone number
While there are likely a variety of scenarios that would work well with Vonage [Communications APIs (formerly Nexmo)], implementations that need transactional message and response actions are a great fit. Our experience with transactional messaging has been really good and we are continuing to look at opportunities to expand our usage of this part of their service.
  • Improved customer experience
  • Reduced feature gap in competitive landscape
  • Added to overall revenue associated with subscription fees
The teams we have dealt with have been knowledgeable, but early interactions with the tech support team experienced some slowness in response. Once we had a dedicated account manager assigned to our partnership, the level of interaction and support with the appropriate teams at Vonage increased.
The overall usability of Vonage [Communications APIs (formerly Nexmo)] system for message delivery is sufficient for our implementation. Some improvements and additional reporting options in the account administration interface would increase our utilization of the post-delivery data further in order to provide further value-added features for our clients.

We use it across the entire organization to power our platform.
  • Low latency
  • Fast support
  • Easy to integrate
  • Written documentation and discovery could be a lot better.
If you're just trying to get an MVP off the ground with little to no extra work this solves a ton right off the shelf. The low latency is great, but video quality does naturally suffer. Some flexibility around making compromises for quality/latency would be a very welcome feature.
  • Allowed us to go to market faster (positive).
  • Greatly limits our claim to quality as the ceiling on video quality is lower than other platforms (negative).
The product feels a bit like a black box since it's built to be an off-the-shelf solution so sometimes it feels like the only way to really understand it is to talk to an engineer directly as the documentation is so-so.
It works really well with relatively simple implementation (vs building from scratch).

[It's being used] Mostly for app activation and communication with customers in real time. A single API that can send a worldwide SMS is a must have. As I said, the support team has been getting better over time, which has helped us every time we have an issue. Getting connected with our customers through our B2C is really easy with Nexmo!
  • I like the delivery speed, it's very instantaneous. As soon as the delivery status changes on the website, the message gets delivered. The rates are also cheap and affordable.
  • The accuracy of the services and the non-stop supportive team.
  • Simple API, easy to integrate with existing notification functionality in your Laravel apps.
  • Ease of implementation. We needed less than one month to go live.
  • The dashboard is very difficult to use, also the dashboard doesn't have details about the use (real-time use).
  • Deliverability is not good for some countries e.g. Indonesia.
  • I would recommend building a better and easier GUI.

At first, we created a voting system (for events and conferences) which allows people to vote with their smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The problem that we have found - very weak and unstable WIFI signal during the events. That means that a large part of attendants could not easily vote using their smartphones and internet. We needed a new solution which could compliment our voting via WIFI. A great solution was SMS voting. Since our system was used by users across the globe, we needed an SMS solution which:

--- Could support inbound messages in a lot of countries.

--- And would not cost a fortune.

With Nexmo both our requirements were fulfilled. We allowed voters 2 voting options - via WIFI or SMS. Adding an SMS feature increased the number of registered users by 30%.

  • Inbound SMS are free. All we needed to pay was for the phone numbers which accept those incoming SMS messages.
  • We use Nexmo for inbound and outbound SMS, enabling our clients to form better relationships with their customers, driving sales.
  • Nexmo offers cheaper pricing between the suppliers we study.
  • twilio and telnix

Nexmo is the best platform in the industry for sure. We don't use all the features that the API provides but we are really satisfied with the ones we use. We are sure this is the best solution in the market if you need to solve the communication in real time with your customers.

When we have to build a new website we are going to support the solution with Nexmo.
