Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure has proven to be a valuable solution for organizations in various use cases. Users have experienced significant cost savings and reduced administrative burden by leveraging Nutanix's automatic and streamlined operations. By serving as the core infrastructure platform for both virtualization and storage needs, Nutanix eliminates the need for managing separate server fabric and storage silos. This web-scale technology has successfully hosted and improved the performance of legacy servers and databases. Additionally, Nutanix AOS provides flexibility, scalability, and remote capability, accommodating increasing demand and streamlining day-to-day routines. It simplifies operations by allowing single-point management and migration between clusters, supporting development and production environments alike. With its Prism interface, Nutanix centralizes infrastructure resources and simplifies management, troubleshooting, and visibility. The product also powers VDI, file shares, web applications, and acts as the backbone of enterprise virtualization, delivering stability, scalability, seamless patching, and upgrades. It is chosen to consolidate storage and compute in the same host, eliminating the need for SAN switches and improving performance. Nutanix is implemented company-wide to impact all users in every department and consolidate storage data centers more efficiently. It provides native integration for all hypervisors running in Nutanix environments while ensuring data protection and application recovery. Nutanix clusters are deployed across multiple sites with minimal overhead, offering control over remote offices without the need for middleware software. The simplicity of implementation and management makes it an ideal choice for different use cases. Nutanix offers great performance, storage optimization, deduplication features as well as seamless upgrades without interruption. Users have reported greater visibility with reduced power consumption thanks to Nutanix powering their entire business. The product continuously improves based on user feedback while providing exceptional support from the Nutanix team. It also integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure to improve efficiency and encrypt data at rest. Hassle-free setup process: Multiple users have found the setup process of Nutanix AHV to be hassle-free. They appreciate the assistance provided by Nutanix representatives during installation, which allows them to start building virtual machines immediately.

Seamless software updates: Several reviewers highly appreciate Nutanix AHV's automatic management of moving VMs between clusters during software updates without any downtime. This feature ensures uninterrupted operation and minimizes disruptions, contributing to a smooth and seamless experience.

Intuitive interface and management: Many users praise the ease of system management from a web browser with Nutanix. They find the interface well-outlined and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and perform tasks quickly. Additionally, the interface provides good historical data, allowing for better insights and decision-making.

Steep Learning Curve: Several users have mentioned that Nutanix has a steep learning curve, with the online training course being extensive and difficult to complete before taking the test. Users have found it challenging to get up to speed with the platform, potentially due to limited documentation and a lack of robust support resources.

Issues with Software Updates: Some users have experienced issues with software updates in Nutanix, stating that updates are sometimes rushed to release and result in significant problems with buggy software. As a solution, users recommend purchasing tech support to mitigate these issues.

Complexity in Management and Integration: Multiple reviewers have expressed frustration with various aspects of management and integration within Nutanix. Users find the interface for managing VMs on AHV unfamiliar compared to VMware's folder structure. There is also a lack of certain functionalities like the ability to disable a NIC card or add existing disks from other VMs. Additionally, there is complexity involved in integrating third-party tools, limitations in Prism interface functionality, and challenges with network segmentation and backup utility integration.

Our Nutanix cluster is a hybrid array consisting of HDD and SSDs. Nutanix uses tiered storage where hot data remains on SSD and cold moves to HDD. We came from a 15K Dell EQL SAN and performance is leaps and bounds better. We noticed the biggest jump in our MS SQL servers.

It's done everything we have asked of it and more. It's been stable and trouble-free for a great portion of its lifetime. It did all of this and still saved us almost 8U of rack space. We could not be happier with the system in both form and function.

The performance is nothing short of amazing. This is an HCI solution, and as any all-flash HCI solution is amazingly fast, Nutanix AOS fills local IO requests until its local IO is saturated before reaching out over the network. This lowers latency substantially compared to vSAN.

The performance is pretty good. Just make sure you know your workloads ahead of time and plan for some growth. You don't want to be in a position where you bought HDDs, and you really need to buy SSDs for your applications to run without issue, especially true for any database or VDI environment!

Most of using experience are very good, product performance is good. But some of the pre-build VMs took a longer time to boot up. Sometimes, we transfer data from one VM to another VM, it is actually bit slower than we expected. Other than those, we do not have other challenges.

With the new Nutanix InstantOn for Citrix Cloud, you can deliver a consistent, high-quality user experience and excellent performance while also enabling predictable, linear, non-disruptive scaling to support your ongoing mobility, BYOD, and cloud initiatives. The ability to purchase only what is needed, and to reduce the number of nodes required as the project expands, leaves customers with more savings to use for transforming their businesses.

AOS performance is 10/10, there has been very little in the way of lag or a negative experience. More recent updates from Nutanix provide better features and increased performance but may require additional memory allocation to CVMs.

Generally the performance has been very impressive. Sometimes VMs reboot so fast that I question if I have actually rebooted them.

Leap is very very fast and in my testing, I have been able to failover application/service lines to DR and have the service back online in around 7 minutes.

The only fault I have been able to find was while doing SQL-specific load testing. We've got an all-flash array in Nimble and I compared like for like testing on Nutanix disks and the Nimble always performed better. That's not to say that Nutanix was not up to scratch, just that our current SAN did perform better.

Nutanix AOS is fantastic!

Nutanix AOS performance is light years ahead of HPE. We were nervous about using Nutanix AHV but it has been a vast improvement and saves on cost. Applications has been much improved and end users have commented. It has also freed up time for our Network Administrators and made their lives easier.

No secret sauce here! It has a bunch of SSDs and a very well written code to ensure that the data is always written to the localhost/local disks. The performance is very good! VMs power on in a couple of seconds.

I give this rating as it is not an apples to apples comparison when you move your workload from traditional separate bare metal compute, hypervisor, network, and storage onto a Nutanix hyper-converged platform. So, much of the comparison would be based on a perceived interpretation of how it should correlate.

I think that one of the main advantages of using Nutanix is that they can help us right-size our environment and we can always add nodes/blocks to increase our computing or storage needs. Using SSD as caching helps us to gain speed for our applications.

Nutanix does a great job of being the New Kid on the Block!

Nutanix has performed fairly well overall. There were certainly some bumps in the road, as there would be with any new platform but nothing that was a show stopper. One detraction is that their updates are not vetted enough. Releasing items that are not thoroughly tested can lead to unnecessary errors and their support team is great but it would be ideal to see this process tightened up.
