We needed to send push notifications to our users on our mobile applications. OneSignal is a wonderful solution for that. After our initial demo and integrations, we realized we could use it for much more! So we started using it for their in-app messaging functions, as well as doing some A/B testing on user communication.
  • In-app messaging
  • Push notifications
  • A/B Testing
  • Setting it up
  • More design choices for in-apps
  • More analytics
I think One Signal is very well suited for mobile app owners who want to be in touch with their user base more easily by sending push notifications and in-app messages. I'm not sure how well that works for SMS messaging as I haven't yet tried it. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if your in-apps are very rare.

1. We needed a robust system to send multiple notifications at a time. We use OneSignal on daily basis to send 40+ push notifications a day (365 days a year) without any issue and cater to all the countries around the globe in all major languages. 2. It is a tough task maintaining the attention of subscribers and bringing them back in a cost-effective way. Onesignal is highly cost-effective for our overall marketing. It is playing a major role to bring users to our websites. 3. It is a feature-loaded tool with user segmentation, A/B testing of push notifications, intelligent delivery, etc. Ultimately it helps us optimize our efforts. 4. We have reduced our cost of customer acquisition and increased our conversion rate using it.
  • Send instant notifications without any delay.
  • Provide all the necessary features for testing.
  • Highly cost effective.
  • Great system to handle huge volume.
  • Great customer support.
  • They should develop features a bit faster as per user requirements.
  • Old users should get freemium model for new features.
  • Admin can look a bit better.
  • In-built and easy to use segmentation should be there too.
1. It is well-suited for industries that want faster delivery of push notifications without any issues and the timing of push notifications is more important than money spent on it. 2. It is not suited for industries in which money matters more than the delivery time of the push and few errors in the backend are acceptable.

We use OneSignal to send push notifications to our subscribers on their devices. It can instantly send push notifications with text and images to more than 30 different platforms including web browsers and smartphones. It offers a plugin for WordPress to quickly collect new subscribers. OneSignal is a SAAS platform that can be easily integrated with Hubspot and Shopify. It can be integrated with Twilio too for SMS and MMS messaging. It can also send notifications to the subscribers on Mailchimp, sendgrid, or Mailgun. Overall it is a very powerful message delivery system that is ready for the future.
  • It can send push notifications to all major browsers and devices.
  • It is lightning fast.
  • Very easy to setup and integrate with 3rd party services.
  • It has a rich API for in app messaging.
  • It offers a free plan for messaging up to 10,000 subscribers.
  • Expensive pricing of 309 per month for 100,000 subscribers.
  • SAAS platform are not reliable for data privacy.
One signal is best suited for news and media publishing websites. Media agencies can quickly broadcast their news by sending notifications to their subscribers. It is not suitable for the corporate business where the is no frequent news and updates and most of the communications rely on emails.

We use OneSignal for our organization's Push Notifications across our website and mobile apps. For years now we have used OneSignal to manage our Push Automations and Push Campaigns. Very happy with how the platform works and their pricing model is fair. Currently, we have around 200,000 Push Subscribers and our campaigns perform great with OneSignal.
  • Push notifications
  • Automations
  • Push campaigns
  • I wish it was easier to create more automations/flows.
I believe OneSignal is the best option when it comes to Push Notifications. Their platform is top-notch for Push Notifications, their pricing model is fair and their customer support is great. We have been using OneSignal for many years and are very happy, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to build their Push Subscriber channel.

Our company using OneSignal for our Mobile Apps Department, OneSignal is a solution to manage our push notification[s] in our apps. Its developer friendly too, many action provided from API / SDK and its provide a free services too for a reasonable limit. OneSignal can handle multiple platform too including iOs that we know its so complicated to set up APNS, etc.
  • Multi-Platform Support
  • Well-Documented
  • Developer Friendly
  • Technical Support
  • {Could] Be Easier to Debug
  • More Interactive Dashboard
OneSignal is good when you need a one-stop solution for push notification[s] on your multi-platform apps. If you are developing your apps in Android, iOs, Web / Webview, etc, and your Backend Infrastructure that [have] push notification for each app it will be so complicated. So OneSignal is the best solution, you just need to config your apps and your setting from Firebase / APNS and you are ready to go

Bussi is a "Mobility as a service" app where you can book and pay for seats in Public Transportation, specifically in Mexico City. We deliver our app in Android and IOS and of course we have to be in touch with our customers through push notifications. Here enters OneSignal. We decided to use OneSignal for push notifications for price and easiness that it represented at the beginning. With time, we were glad that OneSignal has been evolving with us by offering new features like in-app messages, segmentations and many more that are implementing like SMS. At the same time, [we've grown] until the point of having hundreds of thousands of users. OneSignal was free until we reach[ed] the 130,000 users and even [then] the amount charged is really low.
  • Push notifications: they deliver in the moment and give you metrics, push [notifications] are highly configured and you doesn't need to configure extra steps.
  • Segmentation: the way they divide segments is very efficient - you can do it by geographical area, engagement, and transactions that you have defined.
  • In-App Messaging: this new feature is to show a full screen message when users open the app with images and call to action buttons.
  • Is still in development: we know OneSignal is still in development and sometimes it takes longer to create or fulfill certain features.
  • Payment: payment menu is not at the glance, [and] is just difficult sometimes to find -it is a minor issue.
  • Send to certain custom segments through specific OneSignal IDs; you can do it though API doing a GET call with tools like Postman. If this can be done from OneSignal it would be great.
OneSignal is perfect [for] Push Notification[s], In-App messaging, [and] general communication with your users into your app. If you have a developer team they will need to implement once and after that you get all [that] the platform offers. And its free until you reach a big amount of users.

OneSignal is not suitable if you [don't] have a technology team that can implement it into your app.

We use OneSignal to send push notifications via our website as well as through our mobile app. The Marketing department utilizes to push critical messages that we think our constituency cares about. The notifications allow us to generate significant traffic at an extremely affordable rate compared to some of the other mediums.
  • Easy scheduling.
  • Connects with Wordpress for hands-off notifications.
  • Simple user interface for composing messages.
  • Segmentation.
  • Scheduling to multiple mediums can be difficult - for instance, we have to do separate notifications for our app and website.
OneSignal is fantastic for getting push messages out on new content, special offers, and anything that someone visiting your website would generally be interested in. Keeping your content engaging is a great way to build an organic audience in a world that relies on social media traffic to fuel web traffic. It has a big opportunity to be overused, however.

OneSignal is used on many websites we own, it is one of the best and only free push notification services on the market. The problem with other services is that they cost a lot of money and sometimes they are not even good and with many integrations like OneSignal.
  • Push notifications.
  • Segmentation.
  • Integrations.
  • Easy to install.
  • Better deliver-ability.
  • They should not sell your data to advertisers.
  • Improved mobile app.
OneSignal is perfect if you have a Wordpress site, a blog, or some website not extremely big. The only thing that people don't like about OneSignal is that to keep it free they need to sell some of your data like the traffic on your sites to advertisers.

I bought another app but I switched to OneSignal.

We use it in our magazine, we send more than 100,000 notifications daily.

-Insanely good notification service

- Can track reach, click and other stats

- Integrates with WordPress (they have a plugin)

- Can segment audience

- Can send a manual push notification

- Can integrate native with popups

- Easy to use

- Can send automatic notifications and schedule

- Integrates with a lot of other services like Mautic or Zapier.

  • Integration with other services.
  • Ease of Use and user-friendly campaign set up
  • Spot on Analytics Tracking
  • Concerns about data storage
  • Install can be a bit tricky
  • Some issues with pushing to Chrome users.
Great for people who do not want comprehensive setups to send push notifications. Took all of 5 minutes to get everything integrated and up and running.
