What is ONLYOFFICE Docs?
ONLYOFFICE Docs is a collaborative suite for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations for cloud use and on-premises installation. ONLYOFFICE Docs is based on OOXML formats (DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX) and ensures maximum compatibility with them, also supporting ODF, PDF, HTML, and other popular formats.
The suite allows creating and editing autoshapes, tables, charts, content controls and other complex objects, applying professional formatting to texts and paragraphs, using academic layout tools. With third-party plugins, it is possible to to translate texts, search thesaurus, publish texts, insert videos, create bibliographies, and more.
Collaboration is possible in real time or paragraph-locking mode, with comments and mentions of users, Track Changes, browsing and restore document versions, comparing documents.
Security features include end-to-end encryption of documents, HTTPS, JWT, limited cache lifetime.
Three editions of ONLYOFFICE Docs for on-premises deployment (Community Edition, Enterprise Edition and Home Server) can be integrated into over 30 existing sharing platforms (e.g. Nextcoud, ownCloud, Confluence, Alfresco, SharePoint, etc) and other applications using custom connectors created using API. ONLYOFFICE Docs Developer Edition is built for software developers to implement ONLYOFFICE Docs functionality in web applications with deep integration and own branding. In ONLYOFFICE Workspace in the cloud or on private network, ONLYOFFICE Docs is pre-combined with collaboration platform called ONLYOFFICE Groups.
