Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use it for Content Management with a focus on improving search, big data classification and records/documentation management to support all the paperwork regarding our business. When you generate thousands of documents, scans and other pdf from multiple departments, it's hard to keep up the classification where every department will have their own ways of doing things, from good to really bad. OpenText Application Content Management allows us to make sure this will never happen again in the sense that everything could be searched and easily found.

I recommend it for any organization that needs to manage all content, either in Marketing, legal or any other place where you need to search, collect, classify and publish content and more efficiently. Imagine a situation where you have marketing, legal, HR and finance working on a project and they need to have access to each other's content, this is where OpenText Application Content Management was a real big win, each individual from a different department was able to find what they were looking for without bothering their colleagues every time. You don't want to go back to this kind of scenario.

We use OpenText ApplicOpenText Application Content Management (formerly ApplicationXtender) Content Management (formerly Application Xtender) in our organization, as mentioned below. As I am part of the sales team we need to send proposals (Documents) to differOpenText Application Content Management (formerly ApplicationXtender)ent clients on daily basis, as well as we need to send invoices to our existing clients so open text helps in the generation of the automatic invoice as well as it helps in document management and storage and creates a folder with client and name.
Pros and Cons
  • As I mentioned in the previous question, OpenText helps us in Invoice generation and invoice verification which makes our workflow very easy.
  • OpenText provides customization options and different versions are available so it can be deployed to different departments of our company.
  • Its very easy to use.
  • As we use outlook for mail so integration with outlook is quite difficult

The specific scenarios based on my experience where OpenText Application Content Management (formerly ApplicationXtender) is well suited, i.e., it helps in automatic generation of invoices as there we need to send multiple invoices required to send to our clients who has taken different service from us as well as its help in document management as well keep secure.

It offers enterprise-wide functionality to cover the need for content management and content-oriented workflow. Previously users were saved into a chaotic network folder structure and some of the information was placed in the user's workstations. It was really hard to get the right information. With this application now everything is centralized and easy to manage across the organisation.
