Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

We use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as our cloud provider for one of the biggest supply chain provider organizations in the world. All our 500+ customers are hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and everything is going as expected with it. Initially, we never had our own infra so we were dependent on customers' owned infra and managing each infrastructure from customer to customer for us was a critical task. So with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, we hosted all our applications in one place and we are giving them as a SAAS product.
  • More Reliability and especially Oracle Database
  • Pricing is really impressive
  • UI is very easy to manage and has explanation for each step
  • Easily integrated to other clouds as well
Cons
  • They should introduce messaging queue like pub/sub or sqs
  • When major outage comes we see delay in communication from them
  • Customer support needs an improvement
  • MySQL and some more services

As per our usage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for almost 6 years hosting 500 + customers I can say its well suited application for any small scale to larger scale application as it can handle that capacity and provide more reliable cloud service only if you need any messaging service like pub/sub or sqs better to consider other services.
  • First it generated a lot of income as we provide full service as SAAS.
  • Since we have all customers on one cloud, managing and applying fixes is very easy for us.
  • Customers are also happy because they had to spend a lot of money on having their own infra and managing that.
Performance wise, it does really good, but at times UI loads very slowly. But, the good thing is that issues don't last long; they take action quickly, complex analytical reports are completed in a short time, and very rarely have I seen issues with the report; otherwise, it works as expected. We did integrate with Azure and GCP but didn't face any issues.
Main benefit was costing compared to other services and we use Oracle as a database so with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure we can fully utilize the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure database which helped a lot for our products to handle major load that is one big plus because we had pay lot for Oracle DB if we host in other cloud.

We host all the products of our organization on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and provide a SAAS as a service to customers. Almost 500+ of our clients are on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure only. It includes using instances, Load balancers, storage, networking, databases, and the majority of services we use as per our business need, and it's going well without any hiccups.
15
To support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure it's better to undergo some training which are available in othe fficial Oracle learning program, which doesn't need any basics, as we can start from scratch and excel in it, so any IT technical person can pick this up.
  • We host app applications in OCI instance and monitoring
  • Fast connect and site to site vpn also very good features
  • SAAS service for our products
  • Easily integration with customer clouds as well
  • Pricing was relatively low so we use this product
  • Oracle database usage was more for us so
  • More reliable product
  • More of AI modules if they introduce it will be good
  • More services and cost optimization tools
We have been using this product for the last 6 years, and we keep renewing it yearly as we have no issues with this cloud provider. Maybe till we have our products, we will use this cloud and will be renewing it.
No
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
I would say all the above mattered while taking a decision on purchasing a cloud provider for our organization.
I would say not as of now because things are going fine with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Implemented in-house
No
Change management was minimal
We don't follow the change management model here, so I'm not aware much of it
  • Integration with other clouds
  • Majorly network related
  • Performance issues in the beginning
Was not part of initial setup
  • Online Training
  • In-Person Training
We got training inside organization, also it was very good.
It's very informative, self-explanatory, and detailed with each level, so anyone can attend and learn the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
For any kind of products, the initial setup is easy, I feel, because it's not that complicated to set up, so we can use it.
Nothing specific, we just need to undergo Oracle Cloud Infrastructure official training.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
Nothing as such because we were able to achieve what we wanted with the current available resources.
With Normal support only we are able to run our business hence not in need of premium.
When global outages happen, it has given timely updates and brought systems on time. DB patches and fixes. Restoring Dumps. DR syncups.
We requested support from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure many times based on need. I would say they are doing well, but still some improvements are needed.
We can use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for any kind of applications, but some services are still missing compared to other cloud providers, so if those come, it would be great.
  • Load balancers, Instance
  • Fast connect VPNs
  • Oracle Database
  • VPN setup is bit more difficult
  • Networking concepts
  • DR syncup
  • Cross region replication
We have hosted around 500 + customers on this cloud so till day not faced any major issues, so we can use it for any kind of products and it can hold the load and easily scale based on need.
Yeah sometimes we had to face unplanned outages due to underlying infrastructure issues, so not every time,e but once in a while we face issues with availability. But the good thing is we have redundancy with DR setup and multi region so we can manage.
  • Azure
  • AWS
  • GCP
We have integrated with Azure, AWS, and GCP systems based on our business needs.
  • Active directory
  • customer envs
We have done whatever needed. Nothing as of now.
  • File import/export
  • Single Signon
  • API (e.g. SOAP or REST)
Integration has very easy steps it has also its managing.
We can integrate systems as much as based on business need no issues with that.
I wasn't part of initial sales so not much experience, We have yearly contract so we pay yearly thats best we get discount also
We can go with this vendor we have good support and very reliable product from them
