As part of the all-ways-on service, we employ Oracle Dyn Online Application Security Platform protection services to keep our web applications safe. Oracle's protection services are administered by the department in which I work. Since we handle highly confidential information, any attack on our systems would be catastrophic.
  • Information about application security threats, attack methods, and data throughput.
  • Portal user interface and uploading SSL certificates are both very user-friendly.
  • Preset WAF rule sets for compliance are easy to use and deploy.
  • The purchase of Oracle Dyn into Oracle Dyn continues to develop the company, and while the process maturity is wonderful, it is worth mentioning.
  • Many businesses were affected when their Express option was yanked from production too rapidly, resulting in significant costs and delays.
  • Full 360-degree traffic and data visibility with ADC analytics integration.
If we have a presence on the internet, we need to be safeguarded, and that's a given. Regardless of the size of the business, Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform can offer all of the essential security to keep its apps, data, and public image safe.
  • Support 24/7
  • All web applications secure.
  • Simple to use and implement.
  • Has a user-friendly interface that is both informative and intuitive.
  • The client's websites are monitored round-the-clock by a staff that provides quick response in the event of any difficulties.
  • Deploying it is a breeze.
After a long period of cyber security research and close encounters with distributed denial of service attacks, I chose to deploy Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform to safeguard our apps. Oracle Dyn provides my company with the security it needs for its important applications, which sets it apart from other service providers of a similar nature.

Oracle Dyn Web application security is used for protection of our main business website. It monitors our website's web traffic, protects against DDOS attacks.
  • It's lightweight to deploy.
  • Has an informative and easy to use User Interface.
  • Has a team monitoring 24/7 the client websites for any issues, speedy support if any issues occur.
  • Sometimes engineers while applying updates may impact the stability of the service for a brief moment.
Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform is well suited for business website protection and any other web application protection. It's lightweight to deploy and easy to manage.
I have not had as much experience with configuring the product, the off-the-bat configuration seems pretty fitting for my use case right now, but I can see that it is truly dynamic when it comes to amending the configuration.
I have not used any other similar products to date, although I'm not sure what other use cases they could cover, I would be interested to try them out.

Our organization uses Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform as a critical technology partner to provide DDoS and WAF protection for our hosting, cloud, and colocation customers. We tested this service against leading competitors and their analytic tools, portal functionality, and ease of working with their technical team have been invaluable.
  • Analytical data on application threats, attack vectors, and data throughput.
  • Ease of use for uploading SSL certs and portal UI in general.
  • Simple to use and implement WAF preset rule sets for compliance.
  • Integration with ADC analytics for a full 360 visibility of traffic and data.
  • Still growing through their acquisition into Oracle Dyn and while the continued process maturity is great, it is worth noting.
  • Their Express option was pulled from production too quickly and caused a lot of business disruption.
Their technical team is great, their portal is easily the best of those I have reviewed it against (including Akamai, CloudFlare, and Imperva), and they are a dedicated technology partner through and through.
The complexity of implementation is a challenge for ALL WAFs. So work towards simplifying this would be welcomed.
I already put this in earlier, but to repeat - they were easier to work with, more technically capable and knowledgeable and not just trying to sell us on something. Their willingness to solve for our problems and work with us made them the clear winner.

In our organization we use Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform protection services to keep all web applications secure; all traffic is constantly filtered with the all-ways-on service. The department of which I am a part manages the administration of Oracle's protection services. Any intrusion to our servers would be devastating since we handle very sensitive data.
  • With Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform we have a complete dashboard (dojo) to manage, configure, visualize, all the features and functionalities of the platform in a very simple and friendly way.
  • Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform support is something out of the ordinary. Oracle engineers are available 24/7, every day. There is no requirement that can not be satisfactorily addressed by them. The response time, by different ways, is almost instantaneous.
  • It is very easy to communicate with any Oracle official to discuss any topic.
  • Despite being a service with all the features to provide 100% protection, my experience is that the cost of Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform is worth it.
  • I really do not see any lack of functionalities in the Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform, at least in the way we use it in the organization.
It is already well known that if we have a presence on the web we must be protected, that has no discussion. Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform is able to provide the necessary protection to any organization, no matter the size of it, thus avoiding very unwanted cases that the applications, data and the image of the organization are compromised.
Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform can be adapted to any need, in addition Oracle engineers collaborate so that the expected result is fulfilled 100%.
After several years involved with the issue of cyber security and having been very close with distributed denial of service attacks, having used several companies to protect our applications, I decided to opt for Oracle Dyn Web Application Security Platform. Definitely, Oracle Dyn gives my organization the protection we need for our critical applications, far away from the other companies that offer similar services.

We have used Oracle's Dyn WAF since before Oracle acquired Zenedge. As with any WAF, it's used to protect Internet-facing web applications, providing a 24x7 monitored solution. The extensive tools available on their dashboard allow us to closely monitor the activity hitting our web presence and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Pre-populated rulesets - This allows engineers to quickly spin up new WAF instances without the need to configure extensive rulesets.
  • Detailed audit logs - Logs show detailed information about traffic hitting the WAF as well as information the rules allowing or blocking the traffic.
  • Change Management - Changes can be staged and applied when necessary, without interfering with current traffic.
  • Expensive - This service is not cheap. There are several competitors that have similar services and are significantly less expensive.
  • Oracle - I think that says it all. Oracle, in my book, does not have a good track record. We'll be moving off of this service in the very near future.
  • Tech support slow to respond - Tech support has always been a little slow to respond. They're good at solving problems, and do a great job, but it can take a while to get things rolling.
Dyn WAF is a good product, don't get me wrong. Zenedge was constantly improving the product, adding new features on a regular basis. It works very well for dynamic websites, helping weed out SQL Injection, XSS, XSRF, and other attacks. We have also used this product to protect REST API endpoints. Again, the product works very well to repel attacks.
Dyn WAF allows the user to configure sites in a variety of ways. There are controls to allow specific white and black listing based on IP. There are controls to allow selection of specific WAF rulesets. And there are controls to allow addition of custom WAF rules. Overall, the product seems to be quite configurable, meeting our needs and allowing for growth.
At the time we chose Zenedge, Dyn WAF was the clear leader. AWS WAF is almost 100% manual with no preset rules. Akamai and CloudFlare both excelled in CDN and Anti-DDoS services, but not in WAF services. Since that time, however, several competitors have appeared as well as offerings from both Akamai and CloudFlare. And each of these services are significantly less expensive.
