We are using it to track employee data, provide benefits administration, payroll processing, compensation, and recruiting functions.,The effective dating feature of PeopleSoft is especially useful in tracking the life cycle of an employee's relationship with the organization, from the time they apply for an opening until the time they decide to retire from the company. Every transaction can be tracked within the system so you have the historical data needed to support any type of reporting that may be required. Security is another thing that PeopleSoft does well. The ability to have row level security in addition to page security is very useful when you need to provide access to the data for various categories of employees. For example, we can set security permissions so that it allows a payroll clerk to see only hourly employees since that is the pay group for whom they're responsible for processing. The Employee Snapshot in Manager Self-Service is an awesome new feature! It allows managers at any level to see specific data not only about their direct reports, but also 2nd and 3rd+ level direct reports as well. using a graphical drill down capability to get the details. I also like that you can use many types of devices to work with PeopleSoft HCM. I can see the same information from my laptop, tablet or phone as needed. The Dotted Line Reports feature of Company Directory will be an added bonus for our organization since many of our teams function as networked teams rather than hierarchical ones.,We really need to have more flexibility with the number of leaders for teams. We have many cross-functional teams that have more than one team leader. The ability to identify multiple leaders who can access their team members' data would be extremely helpful with how our staff work in a team environment. Better documentation on the set up steps is needed. The wizards have helped a lot but they are still sometimes hard to use. Vidoes are helpful too, but often don't go to the level of detail necessary to completely set up a new feature or function. Security is often confusing. Whenever new functionality is made available or a PUM update is done, the roles/permission lists to use it is sometimes difficult to find. Having a better way to search for that would be helpful. The UX for Security needs needs to be redesigned. It is difficult to figure out all of the necessary steps to implement a change to a user's role or a permission is made. You often have to go to another place in the system to finalize the change such as running the SJT class update, which leads to that step being missed until you don't see your change in the system hours later!,9,We really don't quantify the ROI aspect...we've been using PeopleSoft HCM since 1995 so it's now just a part of our operational culture. We are planning to implement more analytics going forward, but we haven't focused on that aspect until lately. PeopleSoft is a very easy-to-use application that makes processing payroll headache-free. Out of the box, it just works. And customizing the application for our company's needs is easy once you familiarize yourself with all of the available features. Simply select what you need, knowing so much more is available if your needs change. While some training was involved when we upgraded a few times, the upgrades essentially kept the features that we loved and provided new ones that only gave us more freedom to perform our work better.,PeopleTools for writing reports is extremely simple to use and so helpful in a crunch! Easily Customizable! Simple to Use!,PeopleSoft is a powerful product, but out-of-the-box it's not eye candy. There are individuals in my organization that would like it to be more user-friendly, but that is not a real weakness of this application, just that users needs to familiarize themselves with what the application is capable of.,8,Take the time to learn the product. Running the right reports and having the right tools at your fingertips all the time leads to better customer service and increased productivity. For example, at one point our company outsourced mortgage verification of employments to a third-party organization, but I was able to create my own report through People Tools that we could run by employee ID that essentially did the same thing as the third-party site, allowing us to save money when we dropped their services and performed this task ourselves.,,UltiPro, Kronos Workforce Central, Box,10User FriendlyThis is used to handle the day to day operations of the university. This program is used campus wide. It helps track documents and contribute toward us going green.,Oracle is not a difficult program to use. The menus make it fairly easy to navigate. Through the trial and error and a lack of training you learn how to use the save function. It is not the same depending on the item that you are processing. The best thing about oracle versus banner was the time it took to learn it. It is a user friendly program. I like the hr component. It so easy to retrieve personal infomraitn or make adjustments as needed.,More detailed instructions on the use of the save button would be helpful..,10,We definitely have better efficiency due to the way the program is set up. I am able to pay contractors much faster with the 9.1 version.,,9What Oracle Did For Our OrganizationEnabled us to install a first class HR system that can be accessed by our staff from all locations. Workforce Management enable us to forecast, deploy, track and manage our labor, cut costs and increase productivity. In my office support role, I was using PeopleSoft for updating student records and tracking/monitoring student progress in various graduate programs.,PeopleSoft is very user-friendly. The way that information is configured makes it easy to navigate and simple to use. The 'Favorites' tab is great! It provides easy-access to tools that are used regularly. There are many different products and features available for Oracle PeopleSoft. The program is used across the entire organization, and it's great having everything on a single platform.,The program can be quite slow if multiple users are trying to access information at the same time. Although I was not directly involved in the purchase of the software, I learned that it was costly and time consuming to implement. We use the system primarily to pay employees, hire employees and administer the workforce. Data from the sites using other systems is uploaded into the Peoplesoft system even though they may use another system.,System is designed and tested for large and small organizations alike Strong reporting capability Ability for integration with other functional areas like finance,This feature may be available on other modules, but with the version we use there is not the ability to keep and take notes during the recruiting process. Other versions at previous companies have allowed for this feature. This may be a function of how our company utilizes the system, but we enjoy the ability to run and save different customized reports. However, the report library can become very full with customized reports and there does not seem to be an easy way to manage all the reports. The interface can be difficult to follow especially for newer users. For instance, if I am trying to look up an employee's salary, should I go to the "Workforce Administration" tab or the "Compensation" tab. The basic information can be found on the employee's summary page but navigating all of the menu options can be confusing.,7,Positive impact to a degree, anyway, on using the recruiting module in terms of time to fill rate. The automation has required less handling of paperwork or updating Excel files like we did prior to implementation. PeopleSoft HCM has provided a very flexible platform for our HR needs. The ability to add customizations to handle some of our unique business processes have been critical in the longevity of our PS HCM use. We've been able to handle a wide variety of business processes for multiple subsidiaries due to the ability to customize when needed.

PeopleSoft was time-consuming to implement across the organization. We have not had any large-scale problems working in PeopleSoft and do not wish to change to another program. PeopleSoft is so simple to use and easy to learn that it does not make sense to switch to a different platform.

One key factor is the cost of transitioning to a new system. Once a company invests in an enterprise system, especially one that is cross functional, changing to a new platform is often cost-prohibitive. This is even more pronounced is resources have been invested in customization. For most companies cost is a huge driver. In my experience, the value provided outweighs those costs so sticking with Peoplesoft has been a relatively easy decision.
