Great transcription APP

Otter.ai is a fantastic technology as it listens and relays the information from a call or a meeting. I like the speed with which it converts information from a call and also with different accents. Otter.ai also provides a good summary and also future touch points and also summarizes the information. It nicely understands different team members on a call and clearly transcript them along. I request the team to have an unlimited recording option, and if possible, more ease in editing and collating information from the recording. All over it is a fantastic transcription service and I did some benchmarking studies with various services and find it very user friendly.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We trialed Otter.ai at our organization, mostly for client planning meetings, to simply help manage the details, and to literally be a detailed notetaker, especially when a team member wasn't present to assist. Otter.ai was able to provide written notes much faster than we were, and helped to create follow-up emails and task lists efficiently.

Cons

  • The whole trial situation with invites going to everyone was hard to get a handle on
  • Pricing was hard to understand, with the trial and minutes used,etc...

  • Customer service is terrible--zero customer interaction.
  • Billing system is questionable--was billed for two other accounts just because they were connected to my company.
  • Slow to take care of billing issues.
